Boldly going where no VIP has gone before

Forums:

It has come to my attention that a new performing arts center that includes a current mid-sized venue is going to be built with the upper floors being high end rentals/condos complete with many amenities that come with the territory these days ie: concierge services, entertainment rooms, gym, rooftop pool and outside cooking facilities/fire pits. How owners/renters will have performance ticket perks is still being worked out. My guess it would be your own seats with little brass tags on them, much like season ticket holders at the opera/symphony.

And no, it ain't Shappy...yet.

Lol New York.

No doubt there will be plenty of takers.

A Pt Barnum quote comes to mind.

The location is not in New York. That being said, those sort of luxury buildings occupy the hot space in most metropolitan areas. A large percentage of  Millennials that have good paying jobs are eschewing home and car ownership and want a high amount of amenities where they live. Demand for those buildings is quite high. When you add in the built in entertainment option, I can see many of those people jumping at the chance to attend concerts with a higher level of service, and less headaches, as a slam dunk.

 Fyre Festival comes to mind

While the over-the-top concert amenity VIP marketing has some parallels to Frye Festival, I don't think the same economic pratfalls of that festival will be present. The company involved is quite large and already knows what is doing in the entertainment field. To my eyes, this is just an expansion of what is already going on. If promoters could sell 50 % of house as VIP and make people think they actually are VIPs, they would. VIP packages sell like hotcakes, usually selling out before any other tier does.

I thought I heard something about Merriweather doing this not too long ago. If so, that would be awful...

Fence it in & keep 'em out!
