New@FoxNews poll finds double-digit shifts in favor of funding “entitlement programs such as Social Security and Medicare” and against “reducing the federal budget deficit.”

The tables have turned and another example of GOP being out of step with it's voter base. Also, the 2017 tax law didn't generate the historical and expected donor "contributions", creating a bit of a conundrum but that is part of another story.

Those people who are hoping to keep their Fed. retirement benefits flowing are mostly poor - often their SS is their only source of income. If someone wanted to take away part of your income I imagine you might be thinking about yourself, too, no matter what age cadre you belong to.

Yep totally agree, but most of them spent their pre-retirement years voting to cut government spending. Boomers, and just to be clear that includes me, paid the lowest tax rate of any generation since before the great depression, and they consistently voted for spend and borrow Republicans who lived off the infrastructure that was built under the previous regular tax generation. It's just a little bit rich that now that they need it everything has changed.

Great post Hank.
Great post Hank.
Really hate it when pholks generalize about a label as wide ranging as "Boomers".
Born in 54 and I have always voted progressive.
The thing about SS is that it is self funded. Left alone it would be in great shape, but the powers that be keep stealing from it to give to the rich.
