This week's musical topic was the "Bowie Is" exhibit that has been on display at the Brooklyn Museum for many months now. There are about 400 incredibly interesting artifacts, songs, manuscripts, album art, audio and video and countless other items of interest to talk about. Stu has joined many descriptions of these items along with the music of David Bowie to he tries to re-create the atmosphere that the curators brought to light.

Today I spent an afternoon in Brooklyn surrounding the magnificent ‘DAVID BOWIE IS’ Exhibit at Brooklyn Museum. (Closing Sunday 7/15/18!) It took 2 hours to take in the mind-blowing multi-media displays of the ‘Sound & Vision’ of David Bowie’s 50 years of relentlessly re-inventing his music, fashions, dance, theatrics, gender-bending, sexually charged, way larger than life personas. There was even a 13 minute Mime segment on video that was brilliant. I got a lump in my throat when I saw the meticulously handwritten chord changes and lyrics to ‘Space Oddity’, in the context of the first ever photos of The Earth taken from Space. Then it was hard not to shed a tear watching the videos of 3 different readings of the song, both live and In-Studio. The mirrored Big Screen videos of Bowie & the late, great Mick Ronson rocking out on ‘Starman’ was another highlight!
We followed the incredible 2 hour ‘Bowie Is’ Museum Tour with a brew at ‘The Other Half’ Brewery and a little late Cajun takeout lunch from Cafe BooQoo.
today’s the last day. it was so fantastically mesmerizing I saw twice and spent hours and hours just absorbing the genius and human sung that was David Bowie.
