Braggin Weather

Forums:

Don't mean to brag but I do live in paradise. 75 degrees at my shop right now. Here is a cam of my local beach. It is going to cool down this weekend to the mid 60's for highs and wind will be blowing a bit. I guess we will take the dogs to the park for a good run over fishing on the beach.

One man gathers what another man spills.

Freezing cold here - coldest temperatures in years.   We lost one of the old chickens last night.  Mimi was going on eight-years-old, was blind in one eye, and hasn't been able to perch for a year.   Despite age and infirmity, she was still laying eggs this past summer.   I guess the cold finally pushed her over the edge as she was stiff and frozen this morning.

Nice, T.
Getting snow here tonight.

How's the real estate market down there?

The market is picking up at a steady pace. The places around here that are desirable are moving at a fast pace. Rocky Point a house will only be on the market 2 or 3 days before there is 2 or 3 contracts put on it. This is also to the properly priced ones. There are always some people who price their homes 50% higher than what the should be and have to sit on it for some time.

New construction is on a good up swing too.

There are a lot of jobs around too. You can tell the economy is on an up tick with all the rims, lights and boom coming from kids cars. Americans have a very short memory and I still don't think we are "out of it" yet. Look for another crash in our near future coming to a town near you.

I have lived in Florida my whole life, when I turned 18 I toured the country seeing 46 states and enjoyed many parts of our country but I came back to where I grew up. The summers are hot but we do have a persistent sea breeze and the winters are fantastic. The only drag in th winters here are the snowbirds. It is a love/hate relation. We do truly love their money but the traffic and the attitude and age group is very hard to swallow at times.

Visit Florida when the weather is brutal and you may never leave. I'll even take you fishing on the beach. Take a hit of L with a cold one and watch the pelicans.

about 7 with a foot of snow.
