Bruce Cockburn

Forums:

Just starting to get back into the dude's music.  Haven't seen him since 1994 in Bozeman, but see that he is starting a new North American tour with a small backing band and will be at the Aladdin two nights in January.

Anybody else into this guy.  Awesome guitar player.

Also, does anyone think if he really has a rocket launcher, some son of a bitch is going to die?  Canadian OG.

Good call, Ken. Bruce is an amazing artist. One of the most talented artists and yet so many people have never heard of him.

I've seen him a few times. If it weren't for "Wondering Where The Lions Are", there would be even fewer people aware of him.

He's written so many great songs. "Child Of The Wind" became something special to me when my best friend died unexpectedly years ago.

Prolific, too. He's released 35 albums.

Here's his tour schedule. http://brucecockburn.com/tour-dates/    Coming to my town Feb 15th of next year. $50 in a nice intimate theatre.

From his website -

All the dates before September will be “solo” shows. All of the dates from September 15, 2017 to February 17, 2018 will be “band” shows. In April 2018, Bruce will be touring solo.

Bruce’s band shows will consist of a quartette with drummer Gary Craig, bassist John Dymond and accordionist John Aaron Cockburn.

All 3 or them are featured on Bruce’s new True North album ‘Bone On Bone” slated for release in the fall of 2017.

As to your question, I think he'd like to launch a few but he's too thoughtful, mellow, and peaceful to actually do it.

AND he wrote "waiting for a miracle".Jerry loved that song.  Last I saw him was at Telluride Bluegrass fest. He had the crowd cracking up, something about tiger penis soup.   talented man.

An inspiring artist, a very dedicated social activist.and a really nice guy. He was kind enough to speak at length with myself and my cohort Stu Robins from HomegrownRadioNJ.org

Getting famous with the last name of "Cockburn" is impressive enough.

HA! true

...how come the future has to take such a long long time...

 . . . now it's open for business like a cheap bordello

And they call it "Democracy."
