Basically - and ironically - , the Wayback Machine, and the Internet Archive itself, are in danger from entities like Wired (nothing against them in particular) who want to be able to continue to monetize all instances of someone accessing their content.

^ Thanks Surf -- Whatever happened to the concept of a public library? Retail stores still had (many of) the same books for sale. Great civilizations always maintained a library.
