Canary in the coal mine or chicken little?

Forums:

People who are concerned Trump might go "rogue".  What do you think?

http://www.nytimes.com/2016/12/16/opinion/sunday/is-donald-trump-a-threa...

Coulter gets a mention, although not flattering IMO.

I think the author is much too optimistic.

I'm far away from whatever happens.

Nobody is far enough away from nuclear war.

What scares me the most is Trump's unAmerican response to  dissent, and how so many on the Right are jumping on that bandwagon.

Fox News isn't even attempting to report news anymore. It's just a constant barrage of editorials and round-tables, explaining why the Left are cry babies and UnAmerican.

Well, I'm also scared that Trump has forgone security briefings, has no clue about global geo-politics and seems to be saying and doing fucked up things. His new Ambassador to Israel is to the right of Natanyahu, and has said that those who want a two state solution are worse than those who gave info to Nazis in the death camps.

Who's launching nuclear weapons and where is their safe space?

can't wait for his first "press conference"

He'll start throwing his shoes at reporters

None yet - it's still early.

This thread is hilarious. :)

What's so hilarious? That people are worried about the Trump presidency?

Was it hilarious when all those people were worried about the Obama presidency, and that the country and world would go to hell under him?

There's a hell of a lot more time be worried about under Trump than there was Obama. The people that cried and whined the hardest about Obama seem to be the ones trashing the people for being worried about Trump.

There's no doubt, the Democratic Party is the party of whiners. The Republican Party is the party of whiny bitches. It just so happens that the whiny bitches are more concerned with getting back at the other party than they are governing.

Sorry, NYT is hilarious and the epitome of fake news.

News should affirm not inform

Um, the link that was posted is clearly to an opinion piece. It's in the opinion section. The real threat is all the shit that is posed as real news, but it is only opinion. Well, that's not the threat. The dipshits who think that blogs are news are the real threat.

How would feel about an opinion piece put out by Infowars?

I'd feel that it was an opinion, and I'd either agree or disagree with all or parts of it.

i have no problems with opinions. My issue is when they are sold as hard news to a stupid and uninformed populace, knowing that they will mislead and keep them stupid and uninformed,

Indeed, BK. Like that stupid Infowars attempt to call Sandyhook a false flag attack? No, Lassen, their record doesn't compare to the NYT, so bad comparison. Facebook spreads more fake news than anyone. Being critical is good, but rejecting the legitimacy of news institutions like the NYT is foolish. Not understanding how their Op-Ed pages work is just ignorance.

It goes both ways. Many liberals get their news from alternative.org. Take a look at this schlock blog at the top of their homepage. It's not fucking news! It's just some shot that some dude you've never heard of is saying.

Bros, lassen and the conspiracy folks know whats up. What is it? 25 or 50 people that run the world?

NYT is hilarious and the epitome of fake news.<<<

Well, they're not Breitbart.

what conspiracies you believe in brochaco? c'mon dude, come clean, i bet you got a couple. :)

i love when the conspiracy bros get together and join forces, it's almost like the thundercats.

Definitely canary in the coal mine.

Across, you still believe a commercial jet flew into the Pentagon? Hope all is well
