Can't wait to take the dog for a walk

Forums:

Just got a new puppy - can't take her for walks yet outside of the yard because too young for all her shots.

Too cute!

Have you named it yet?

Her name is Freya.

A good name for the little goddess

What a sweetie!

She's SOOOO CUUUTE !!!

Looks like some sort of Golden Retriever cross,  maybe "Golden Doodle" ??

Have fun with your new Puppy,  and hide those Shoes,  Glasses,  Remote controls.  (They like chewing those things).

Mine also found refined paper products to be his mortal enemy.  Box o' kleenex,  paper towels,  electric bill...

Charlie Pickles yesterday.

Yeah she is a Golden Poodle first gen. Everything is hidden and what isn't has been sprayed down with bitter yuck. She has a ton of toys to chew on, but her favorite is still the bark mulch in the back yard. My previous dogs were standard and giant schnauzers and she has been so much easier, but we are just starting to enter her testing limits phase.

super cute! Have fun with new friend

Sweet!  I realize that you're pampering your new friend but I'm thinking that she is ok for a walk around the hood.

Ned -- pickles looks like he can tear some shit up.  Perfect pix.

He's a barker more than a shredder :)

Turns out that most Doggies are just fine 'out in the Wild'  and don't succumb to suburban Dog disease.

I was  worried  at first;  however the basic Rabies shot,  heartworm medicine,  and flea control takes care of everything.

Quality Dog  Food really helps.  Every Vet who has looked at Hüsky says  "This is an extremely Healthy Dawg.  Keep feeding H.I.M.  the stuff you are now."

This evening he gets a couple Chicken thighs (people-food quality).  I'm just going to heat them up in a cast-iron pan and add to his evening meal.

Every 2-3 days he eats raw / rare  cow,  poultry,  sheep  or venison with the Bones.

Not every day,  but 2-3  times per week.

Nice photography work there Ned, fantastic.

Welcome Freya !

Good guess on the breed Stu.

( Golden Poodle )

Check with your Vet or dog dietician first,  but an ear of Corn is a good teething treat for a chewy Pup.

At age Four my hound still likes the occasional Cob.  Usually chews the entire item.

Unless the dog decides to swallow the corncob like my friend’s Berner did -  happened twice actually, the dog was digging the corn cob out of the compost pile. 2 surgeries to remove corncob.

Dogs will eat the craziest things !!

One guy at dog park had to take the Labrador in for surgery when it swallowed an entire tennis ball.

So yeah,  check with  the Vet before giving the Pup an ear of Corn.

So I carefully monitored the hound's consumption of his Corn ears.  The first one,  he ate the kernels and left the cob,  which I put in the earthworm condo.

Next one,  same deal but we went for a ride.  Upon return,  ants were  all over the cob.

I've heard ants will attack  earthworms,  so I tossed it in the bushes.
