CBD's and Covid

Yes, turns out CBD's help reduce inflammation in the lungs of Covid patients!

>>Like Δ9-tetrahydrocannabinol (Δ9-THC), the most well-studied cannabinoid, CBD decreased lung inflammation in a murine model of acute lung injury potentially through the inhibition of proinflammatory cytokine production by immune cells and suppressing exuberant immune responses (Ribeiro et al., 2015). CBD can inhibit the production of proinflammatory cytokines like interleukin (IL)-2, IL-6, IL-1α and β, interferon gamma, inducible protein-10, monocyte chemoattractant protein-1, macrophage inflammatory protein-1α, and tumor necrosis factor-α (Nichols and Kaplan, 2020) (Fig. 1 ) that have been associated with SARS-CoV2 induced multi-organ pathology and mortality. In a murine model of chronic asthma, CBD reduced proinflammatory cytokine production, airway inflammation and fibrosis (Vuolo et al., 2019). Moreover, CBD can effectively inhibit the JAK-STAT pathway including the production and action of type I interferons without leading to addiction, alterations in heart rate or blood pressure and adverse effects on the gastrointestinal tract and cognition (Nichols and Kaplan, 2020).

So it is good for something!smiley

The ensemble effect of cannabinoids has many medical benefits. Anti inflammation is one of the most important.

But CBD by itself is but a shadow of what they do together.

I have been fighting cancer(in other people)with cannabinoids for about 8 yrs now. With varying levels of success. Cancer needs to be treated holistically.  You need to be all in. Diet, lifestyle, etc.

Nature gave us a great tool.

I wonder what the therapeutic dose is for Covid to related inflammation.

I would take cannabinoids as adjunctive therapies for cancer, but not as the primary.

Mark, do you have any thoughts on the sort of new Delta 8 thc cbd?

Delta 8 thc?  Not that much really. Reading a bit about it now.  The only benefit I can see is maybe it decreases anxiety. But at huge cost. Both in the high and cost to extract. I don't know anything about it's tumor killing abilities.

What I would like to find is  a source of THCV.  It has appetite suppressant qualities.

The Braphecy is being fulfilled...

Half on point here

Edibles did wonders for the aches and pains with Covid

Piggybacking on what Mark said --- the CBD only products are missing the boat.  Unfortunately the CBD craze painted THC into a corner that it's unlikely to get out of until federal laws are passed.

I've adopted patients myself and it's a constant conflict 'my dr says, my husband says....etc'.
