Cold, cold, cold

Forums:

It's been cold here, especially in the mornings, but it's going to be reallllllly cold in the east this weekend. The friends I've talked to recently have been cold in their houses, me too, and it's been 25˚-28˚ outside in the mornings.

One of the things I was thinking about is that I thought I read something Alan posted about an art show this weekend - then I was thinking about the danger of driving on ice and how risky it'll be to get anywhere.

Stay safe.

Where's Noodler with the Willamette Valley predictions?

Agree, Judit!  Winds off of the gorge have made eastside Portland extra chilly.

Heading to the coast the other day, when winds there were calmer, was a good decision.

Oh Noooooooodler!.....

Judit - Thanks. The art show is safe. Snow doesn't start til Sat night, then Sun, Mon we get slammed. So they say. Stay home. Stay warm.

I'm more concerned about my wife and her friend going to the Pigeons Playing Pingpong show downtown in a covid hellhole bar in flu season.

the Himes Group-5_0.jpg

I put together this show with two other guys in honor of our departed teacher, John Himes. I've got some nice marble, limestone, and alabaster works represented.

Included in the show is one I carved along with some holograms I made of that same sculpture. Identical image depicted in rock and with photons.

That's a piece of soapstone I pulled out of an abandoned soapstone quarry. They used to make bathtubs and fireplace inserts out of that stuff, because soapstone retains heat.

This is a hologram I made at Ohio State University Physics lab using their rare pulsed laser. It's fully 3D.

Driving home through the desert with a light dusting of snow

after a joy filled funeral  for an amazing women

public radio played Little Feat's Cold,Cold,Cold with Bonnie.

It was just alright.

18 degrees and we haven't got hit yet. Couple hrs more. People are freakin in MD. Biggest storm in 10 years? Neighbor next door called out to make sure if we needed anything to let them know. Nice kid. As long as the power stays on, I don't mind a couple of days off.

88 today

Some driveway shoveling might loosen up that back laugh  And I have an ice bath in the back yard.
