Well, if I remember, it's the capital. It's definitely the home of the Gamecocks. Did a campus tour of USC after I was accepted there in 1981. I wasn't on campus more than 10 minutes when my blond haired, blue eyed self was approached by a representative from an organization dedicated to the preservation of Southern American tradition.
My NY liberal upbringing led me to believe that might be akin to a certain secret society... I didn't take well to the idea, and it did lead me away from wanting to attend.
Old city with old buildings, great seafood, and not far from Savannah Ga, which kicks ass for olt time cities with great architecture from long ago, great old time churches and such
Freshman student at Carolina Fall '85. Perfect timing for Halloween but only managed three semesters. I've been back many times to visit friends but not in the past 5 or so years. Definitely some old southern city charm mixed in with the modern era. I have no idea about the venue though. Go Gamecocks!
