I saw elsewhere that comcast has been fucked up all over the East Coast today.
They are always sending me junk mail, never dabbled in their product.
For "landline" I use "StraightTalk Home-Phone". $15 / month for unlimited domestic calls. I ported my old verizon / Ma Bell phone # over.
It's actually a landline-over-wireless technology. The little black box transceives from the local cel tower and you plug your old-fashioned wired / cordless phones in.
Been about a year + and the thing always works. Except during power outage; only a couple hours on the built-in battery backup.
I had long-running difficulties with the old landline, actual twisted-pair copper wire. Audio quality kept degrading. The verizon bill for single land-line went up to around $70 / month over a few years. Plus they were evil bastards if you were a few days late on the bill.
The 'StraightTalk' thing is about the cheapest ($15 / month) equivalent. It is a prepaid card, so if you space on it, your Circuit's Dead Major Tom. But then you add another card and everything is normal. The caller ID just gives a #, no name. Customer service is in Costa Rica or Sri Lanka, I forget. But I haven't needed to call them much. Just when I ported over the old #.
It does have voice mail, call forwarding, various other features. The little black box sits near a window facing East (the tower is 4-5 miles in that direction). I'm tuned into a Verizon channel on that tower.
I was skeptical at first, but now like it just fine. $50 for the box, $15 / month. No worries when trees blow down across the phone wire.

Perhaps you can do a "call
Perhaps you can do a "call-forward" from biz # to a cel-phone # ??
That's a possible solution.

I think that is their website.
The little black box is the same manufacturer that makes the same thing for various wireless companies at a higher price, "Hueeii" or similar.
There is an antenna port if you're far from a Tower.
