Concerned Over 600 People Lurk This Site?

Forums:

Some zoners find it creepy.

martha.jpg...

A certain zoner lurked for 7 years and compiled notes to troll with. Dug hole and pooped.

Gravy, I have to be honest. It's just gotten sad to watch.

I can't in good conscience continue to humiliate you on this website. It's like punching somebody in a wheelchair. It's just not a fair fight.

Please refrain from interacting with me moving forward. I find it extremely difficult not to make fun of you, but I'm going to try. I hope you understand. Thanks.

I'll stand by anything I post on this site and have no concerns about how many people (or how few) have access to it.

If any Zoners are afraid that they will be embarrassed to have outsiders read their posts, I suggest that they think before they type.

Dot net has more lurkers.

Good point, CB.

I lurk on both sites and post sometimes.

Sometimes i post a lot.

I clean pools.

I have some comic books and records to offer to any new zoners.

Good on ya, slack

fake thread,... fake news...... fake fake fake............

>>>It's like punching somebody in a wheelchair<<<

I had a friend in a wheelchair who was punched in the face so hard his lower teeth went through his lower lip.

That was at a Public Enemy show in the late '80s.

One reason why I don't care for the hip-hop.

Jon cans fake news.

I would bet there were 4x more lurkers on the old site.

It's all old zoner s who are to afraid to come to viva. Mike W, Chase Utkey, Chance, JeffG. All lurking around us.

>>>If any Zoners are afraid that they will be embarrassed to have outsiders read their posts, I suggest that they think before they type.

Good point; but I mean concerned more in the sense that somebody is standing at your window watching you eat dinner every night. Probably masturbating. Ew.

to lurk, or not to lurk, that is the question

How much is a flagon of rice going for these days?

I had the opportunity to review some Viva user data, and let me tell you- y'all have no idea just how hard this site is lurked.

Jeff Pehrson is basically on here 24/7.

Why fake authority?

I like Slacker's random post generator.

This thread is a safe space for anybody lurking who hasn't posted yet.

Please feel free to introduce yourself.

Nice pic up there Gravy, quality contribution.

It's been good to see a few folks come out of the woodwork and introduce themselves. I know the zone can sometimes feel a little intimidating, and I genuinely respect the posters who made it a point to say hello.

I'll be checking in periodically throughout the day to greet folks and do my best to make them feel welcome. I encourage other zoners to do the same.

Maybe even a lil friday afternoon surprise, Mark.

Ya never know....

Have a great day, all, ....even you lurkers

>> a few folks

Fake. You "greeted" the same guy twice, and he's posted before. That's it. Now dance away your RBF, Martha.

I'll stop by for furthur fact-checking later.

I come here for music related conversation and information on what's happening in our scene.  For me there is far too little of that and way too much other stuff (pun intended).  So, yeah I mostly lurk as I have little to say to most of the discussion happening here.

St. Mark will have to get a new official Viva outfit when he begins speaking for the Viva Admin group, sort of like joining the Scouts. He'll look particularly sharp in his tie-dye flannel shirt, matching tie-dye sweatpants and socks, and Birkenstock sandals. We love the look and are sure he will, too. Just tell us when you want to start, Mark, we'll order your garb and help you make the transition to being a member of the official Viva Crew.

I can appreciate that, Push.

There are some pretty good music threads here, but they don't usually put up the numbers the drama threads do.

Either way, thanks for introducing yourself. smiley

Tie dye sweatpants? That'll be a cold day in hell, Judit.

When we induct you as part of the official Viva Admin group, we'll order them from the dyer at the Saturday Market. Just let us know your sizes.

Speaking of quality contributions, Judit with the friday afternoon zinger. Can't say i saw that comin.

Thanks, Judit.

Can I request a custom tailored patchwork blazer as well? I'd like to add a bit of personal style to the team, which I think the community would really appreciate.

check out ratdog.org they are all about the scene and good morning threads

First things first, Mark.

Understood. You got the Chanel & artisan chocolates I sent you, yes?

Just a small token of my appreciation, from one ZOTY to another. smiley

St.Mark and j-dawg sittin' in a tree

yesyesyes

I heart J-dawg

I also think it's fantastic that her T is obviously significantly higher than a lot of the middle aged dudes who post here.

Take notes, boys. This woman has something to teach you.

Yes, Mark. It's apparent to all of us that she has taught you a lot - just in the past week.

Six? I thought maybe you had decided to call it quits again, man.

Good to see you posting.

As I live and breathe...

FYI - I have not been able to negotiate my replacement here with Ateix yet.

However, he and I will be spending three days together at a hipster festival in June.

So stay tuned.

I'll add a note to my Google calendar, Six.

Regarding the hipster festival; I know you have questions about what the appropriate attire for such an event would be. I'm glad you asked!

Let me get you in touch with the hippie down at Saturday Market who wasted his life pursuing a career in tie dye. I'm thinking some ironic socks would be a nice touch.

I was once at a rock n' roll shoe where someone put something in my soda cup.

Since I was at a rock n' roll shoe, I decided what the heck, lets take a walk on the wild side.

It was fun.

That's why I like them rock n' shoes.

That & the dancing.

Hi lurkers, glad U R enjoying the fun.

Smoke em if U got em.

Just might see ya one of those days, six...;)

Ill be in touch b4 june

Anybody want to take the over/under on how many times Ateix gets asked "Is that your grandpa?" at the festival?

Bet is set at 46.

The Joe Louis of the zone.

Never really trusted the lurker.

Always got the same mastaburtory feeling as Mark.

Having said that, they beat the crap out of chicken shit socks.

I like to think of myself more as a greeter at Walmart, CB.

Dont fear the lurker

Ricky Baker!

Random notes on lurkers.

* Perhaps the reason behind the lurker lurking plays into why the lurker lurks.

* What if the lurker is shy.

* Or if he or she is concerned what stepping out from lurking (aka posting) might lead 2.

* Like every action has a reaction & some may not B positive.

 * The new norm suggests that trust in the lurker community must B earned.  It is not a given.

* Lurker paranoia.  Will this one day become accepted nomenclature 4 future lurker analysis?

* Lurkers who gather info 4 a sustained period of time may have issues.

* B wary of troll lurkers. Though it may B hard 2 troll from the lurking sphere, remember one never knows.

Maybe the lurkers are just looking for Phil tour dates?

Or phil lineups....

Or enjoying the comradery of La Zone.

U know, the spirit of friendship and community in a group.

laugh

That's what keeps me coming back.

That, and the meltdowns.

I miss the days of getting 5 or 6 emails from random lurkers thanking me for inspiring them to maybe post one day.

That was a great movie slacker

There are over 20 lurkers who email me daily.  A majority of them tell me to ignore irrelevant posters like JR.

i did not lurk as much as i popped in and out of the old zone to look for links to events, articles/books interviews and concert tours.  i would only sign into philzone.net when i needed a tic.  i lurk no more on vlz.  from the darkness to light.  thanks.
