What kind of foods to you cook, order out. or dine on the night you see a concert?
I don't like to order out and have to drive, get the food and bring it back & serve it up. Takes away from the pre-game
I have found a couple of places I can rely on that deliver.
Pretty good pizza place and an empanada place. The yellow rice and beans are very good.
But my safest bet, is to make it my self:
I get Chicken Pot pies often
Tonight, I am going to see Jorma at the Suffolk Theater. Sitting close enough to see him sweat.
I am making Corned Beef Cabbage, with just enough time to pull off.
Wish me luck.

If i'm near the Garden in NYC
If i'm near the Garden in NYC , I like to go to a Thai place.. not all created equal, but most are fair to good. The food is affordable and tasty. One of the nice things is they almost all offer a 2 for 1 on drinks at early dinner. The key is not too much fried food. I've been partial lately to Green Papaya Salad.
Also, they are a good choice if you want to avoid an overcrowded understaffed bar near the Garden. At a bar service can be so chaotic during pregame that you never get served. I've taken to buying beers at a bodega and then escorting them into a bar. Problem solved! Sorry bar owner, you snooze you loose.....
For Shows with a lot, I might be picnicing at Rear Bumper Park. Hard to shake the Tex-Mex authority controlling my mind and palate. I like to make burritos beforehand. A fave is grilled chicken with Kalamata olives, lettuce, red onion, tomato, cheese, hotsauce. etc... More like Texaloniki... I prepare them cold and eat them cold.. Also, great after a show albeit slightly soggy. but who isn't a little soggy after a show. I always make enough to share.

Maybe some fresh fruit, but generally have no desire to eat during a show - take care of that need well before hand with lots of carbs and electrolytes. That being said, my friend and I groundscored a nearly untouched box of Wheat Thins as the show was getting out at Autzen in '94 and that hit spot.

Red Rocks is getting a tasty upgrade this season
Concerts at Red Rocks are about to taste a lot better.
Author: Nathan Higgins
Barbecue, French fries, funnel cakes, and gourmet sausages. Red Rocks Amphitheater is getting a tasty upgrade for the 2018 season.
Aramark, the company that runs concessions at Red Rocks announced new food and liquor options for the upcoming season.
BBQ joint Rolling Smoke will bring its brisket, pulled pork, turkey, and sides to Red Rocks.
Biker Jim's will serve up the gourmet sausages that made its LoDo location a favorite before and after the bars.
Wylie's Thin Air Fresh Fare will specialize in French fries and funnel cakes.
It's not just food getting an upgrade. Aramark General Manager Craig Luckmann says the company is introducing a two-tier liquor program. Bartenders will serve high-end spirits including Stranahan's Colorado Whiskey.
Luckmann says Red Rocks will also host restaurant pop-up events for popular events at the Ship Rock Grille. Luckmann says they're still finalizing the dates, concerts, and restaurants.
That's not all. Luckmann says the visitor's center is getting a Starbucks and they're working to expand a beer festival.

Tim - Thanks for the link on Hot & Juicy Crawfish. They just opened one in Queens NY. Maybe we'll get one out further east.

Trailhead, you are a good cook & know good ny eats/restaurants. Recipes?
The Corned Beef & Cabbage was excellent. It was Brisket. I'm getting more of the same exact brand for St. Paddy's Day next Saturday. I am seeing Larry Kirwan on St. Paddy's Day & don't want to screw this up...
Corned Beef & Cabbage is legitimate concert food, being featured at all the bars, homes and restaurants in NY for the next week.

That's sounds good. Baseball parks now have great food. Concerts should have great food at them too by now.
