And maybe this has already been talked about, but I just noticed it earlier today. Generally I'm not a big fan of festivals, but as festivals go this one looks pretty cool...

Chris Robinson Band, David Nelson(less?) Band, Cosmic Twang & a few others in Big Sur.
No big whoop, but given the great setting and some good rock 'n roll bands it will probably be a pretty good time.
Reservations start tomorrow at noon.

Last time i was there they
Last time i was there they had the stage set up in the meadow just across the bridge. They also had some late night music in the bar at Fernwood. I hear ya Turtle.... CRB did nothing for me at TXR last month (even left early) although i liked them ok last time they were in Big Sur. DNB and Cosmic Twang would be the attraction for me.

I'm not able to pull this off, and I'm not a HUGE fan of any of the groups, but I bet if I was there I'd have a blast.
The music gets a bit dull, wander into the redwoods. There is nothing quite like wandering among the redwoods and hearing music drifting through the trees.
And then there's the 2+ day party. In the redwoods and on the river.
And the ocean air.
And probably fog, and fires.
Damn I love a fire in the fog.

Exciting to hear that there
Exciting to hear that there will be Zoners, DNB, RMFJ and some Terrapin pholks coming to Big Sur. This should be a fun event, especially if the weather cooperates. Fernwood is a fun campground and the Big Sur river that runs through the middle of it is raging right now. There has been a nasty mudslide on the road right there lately- a result of the fire last summer that came right up to egde of the "resort". Im looking forward to hanging out with Y'all. If i can help out in someway or answer a question or two about BIg Sur in general let me know.

No doubt it will be a great
No doubt it will be a great time, just not in my music budget at the moment for a $500 8 hour plus drive small festival even if it's held in one of the most beautiful places in the country.
Have fun to all who are going, and I'd like to think there will be more than one set of DNB as I don't see how they could fill two days of music up otherwise.

With the latest TXR shows sans David rightfully billed as Leftover Nelson, can we expect those billed as DNB will actually include the man in some capacity? bending a Tele could be an issue but acoustic or mandolin would work...

I'm predicting David's return to the stage will be at the Warfield for the opening set before Melvin Seals & JGB. He's playing three weeks later at the Freight, he can ease into that with 60 minute opening set at a nice theatre with a big crowd.
