The Corea / Gadd Band

Chick Corea, keyboards
Steve Gadd, drums
Lionel Loueke, guitar
Carlitos Del Puerto, bass
Luisito Quintero, percussion
Steve Wilson, sax/flute

Have so many albums with Steve Gadd on it. Seemed like he was a studio musician and with Chick looks to be a great show.

Thanks for sharing. Let us know how it turns out...

This will not suck.

Lionel Loueke is a smokin' player.

I'm not usually big on Corea electric bands, but I'd pay to see that band.

Love Chick- missed him last summer --

damn

What a show!  Before the music even started Chick and Steve were given Doctorates in music by the president of the University of Rochester.  The ceremony and short speeches were so cool.  The band was pumped and played really well.  They are on a world tour heading to Africa next.  Lionel Loueke is from Benin, his guitar had a distinctive electric piano sound.  Local boy Steve Gadd rocked the house, drum solos throughout the night.  Who knew Chick could jam out on the cowbell?  Yes he did!

It's also a Return to Forever reincarnation of sorts, they played tunes from that era which I think about half the audience was psyched for.  They also played music from the new album “Chinese Butterfly”.  A fine time was had by all.

Never seen a picture of Steve Gadd before. You said he is local...Does he play out often in the area?

Steve Gadd became known worldwide in the 70s and he traveled and played with tons of musicians.  Not a lot of local appearances these days.  Last night Chuck Mangione was sitting a few rows in front of us.

Nice! I bet this show was a lot of fun. Big fan of Chick & Steve. I've only seen Chick with RTF & haven't seen Steve Gadd to date. I love Gadd's work on Steely Dan's Aja.

Nice show.

Steve Gadd is a monster of a drummer. Good to see him in a jazz format.

Nice photographs China/Rider
