Credit Cards with "chips" inside

Forums:

If Ponch or John put a gun to your head and forced you to make a bet one way or the other, do you think there's some sort of transmission / reception technology contained within this new technology to allow the government to remotely track the physical whereabouts of the card?

Did you just spoil the plot?

I'm betting against it. Would sooner se something like that in state/ federal ids

no. cellphones are for that.

If it can be done it will be done.

Jonny is wise.

Credit cards are for tracking your spending history so advertisers can key in on you and make you a better consumer. That's also how Google works, FYI.

And cell phone carriers' access logs of caller actions are for internal purposes only?

Man, there is just no getting things past Mark. This is what makes him the "King of the Internet". Next thing you know - he'll be telling us that's also how Facebook works too.

Even the Ca$h has little gizmos woven in so 'they' can scan how much you're carrying when you go through the airport.

Been like that over twenty years.

maybe you should move to remote mountain community with limited internet access

The idea of having employees walk around with electronic sensors to track their every move is unsettling. There are privacy and legal issues, and who wants to feel like they are just a cog in a system?

But data companies say that the resulting reams of information will improve life for companies and employees.

Sociometric Solutions has created tracking devices for Bank of America, Steelcase, and Cubist Pharmaceuticals Inc., and is in talks with General Motors. It was started by a team of Ph.D students from MIT who decided to study the chemistry behind what makes certain workspaces like Googlegreat at building teams. They came up with sensors placed in employee identification badges that gather real-time information to help companies measure productivity. The sensors identify a person's tone of voice, movement and even their posture when communicating with others

For decades I have made it my business to ignore ads of any kind; it's now effortless - second nature. I imagine someone somewhere is tailoring ads for me, but I wouldn't know. Likewise, "the man" must be pretty bored following me around by my phone - I don't go anywhere very interesting.

That said, I wouldn't want my every move at work recorded by my badge - that's what sec cams are for.
