If Trump told America what he told Bob Woodward in Feb, festivals like Mardi Gras would have been canceled, along with a long list of concerts and other events, add a shut down in the early stages, and we'd likely have saved hundreds of thousands of American lives (along with quite a few musical legends).

If they told us that this was a vascular disease that causes blood clots and leaky vessels, and attacked many body parts, not just the lungs, then maybe folks would have taken the mask wearing and hand washing seriously, and hundreds of thousands of Americans would still be alive...

Only conservatives said it was just like the flu, only flus attack epithelial tissues (throat, sinus, GI tract, lungs, etc), which flush with mucous (or Nausea / vomiting, diarrhea, how charming)....  that has nothing to do with blood clots killing your lungs / kidneys, strokes / heart attacks....

ok so I will address this from an insiders perspective for you. Due to the extreme numbers of positive cases, hospitals locally were too overwhelmed to take care of anything else. There would be no capacity to accept a single car accident patient if alternate plans weren't developed. The plan to send patients to nursing homes was utilized by isolating sections of the facilities to accept them. It allowed the patients to receive the care they needed, didn't risk the other residents and allowed hospitals to care for other patients. The death numbers are disputable due to the fact that many weren't nursing home residents otherwise. Yes there were nursing home outbreaks but they were happening all over. My grandmother passed away in a nursing home from Covid in Jan. It had nothing to do with cuomo decompressing the hospitals 

Coumo should resign.

It is quite a shame though as many people have lost healthcare because of the pandemic and considering the situation it should be a more important issue than a lot of the things beings handled in Congress, IMO.

Your answer is a path for congress, Biden is not a member of Congress.  

Additionally, reconciliation does not provide instantaneous results.  It is a process that takes weeks. Nine committees have worked on the current covid relief bill, and it's now on it's way to the Ways and Means committee. 

Trying to pass m4a as part of covid relief, while technically possible,  would be much more time consuming, further delaying the bill's passage, and likely would need to be removed, or the bill would fail. Unfortunately, the votes aren't there.  

Sinema and Manchin are fighting $15 an hour. How long would it take to hammer out how to cover the cost of M4A?

His reasoning for not canceling the full $50k is that he doesn't' think people who went to Ivy League schools should benefit. First off, only 33% of the population has gone to college at all. We have to assume that many Gen X and Boomers have already paid off their college loans. Second, and let's be honest, what percent of the population wih college debt actually went to one of those schools? Less than 1%? Who fucking cares? Don't hold up helping out millions of people because of a couple of hundred thousand.

Some economists say that canceling $50k per person will barely affect the GDP. I have no idea what the hell that means. In reality, it means that people will have hundreds more a month to spend, and their credit ratings will go up. They can buy homes, which will lead to new home building. The butterfly effect of that is massive.
