Custy's Regret

Forums:

Usually I'll get the regrets when I buy some T shirt I'll never want to be seen wearing in public, or a poster that I'll never frame/hang, but lately it's been the whole (mostly big) concert experience.

bought tix for the June Roger Water show (San Jose) back in 2016 when they first went on sale... paid a shit ton for mediocre seats, so a couple months ago I sold them (for face) on Ticketsnow.

and just today I decided to list/sell our 6th row King Crimson (Oakland Fox) tix that I got on the presale (also way expensive, but at least great seats)... with tix, hotel, and parking it would have been close to $600 for the two of us, which is fucking insane no matter what the act is.

If anyone else want to open up and share some custy's regret stories, this is the place.

Roger Waters was on Stephen Colbert last night. Forgot & just put it on. Sounds like Wall leftovers.

i hate frontin' tix...

Recently jumped on the hype train for the bourbon that just won the S.F. Spirits competition (Barrell Bourbon Batch 011).

Went big and bought two when my local got them in, because the precious.

Anyway, opened one last night, settled in to be floored, and it was meh. Like, meh meh. Now I'm figuring out how I can trade my second bottle :(

750ML? yeah, seeing some pretty steep prices online, but I admit to paying more for just bottles of wine at fancy restaurants. :(

btw, the first time I heard the term custy's regret it was from JR... haven't seen him around this week, did he catch a banning?

Sometimes I regret not being more of a custie.

Would love to see McCartney but can't see spending $700+ for the two of us.

Not sure if JR is banned or not.

Beast was banned.

JR was posting yesterday.

Why was Beast banned?  Perma?

Gravystain thinks he knows but as usual he's wrong.

Googly you could fly to Denver for Crimson and it would be cheaper.

Flyin' to a show is more cool; less custy.

I have been cutting back on concerts too (I do have Waters tix for Oct - but scored fine seats in the first row of the upper level to take my 15 year old) - but custy that I am, if Rockin' Robert Seger announces a show or two at Pine Knob this summer I will be there. I blame my Motor City upbringing...

Beyond that, I think I might just take in some of the Just For Laughs comedy shows in September up here in Toronto. Change things up a bit, broaden the horizons and whatnot.

>Beast was banned<

uh, why?

look, we can't have it both ways. either open the shit up....OR make it the further board with karma pts.

:/

>>Flyin' to a show is more cool

Someone needs an Al Gore lecture...

cmon martinb ... the plane's flying there anyway (unless its Spirit).

-5 Karma Points for Turtle.

Sorry man. :(

A few years ago college football changed it's national championship game from a bowl game to a completely different game in a bowl city.

The national championship in 2012 was im Miami. When Notre Dame won and was to take on Alabama I went on Stub Hub and looked up Orange Bowl.

I searched around and found some great seats in the front row on the 30 yard line. Before I pulled the trigger I asked my son if he wanted to go and he shit himself on the spot saying I am the greatest dad in the whole world. I asked my wife if I could spend the money and she said sure it is a once in a lifetime experiance and she also thought it was a decent deal for a national championship game.

So I did it. I shelled out $760 a ticket for 2 tickets with fees and shipping and god knows what else it came to $1640.00

About a week later, after my son and I told every fuckin human and pet that we encountered that we were going to see Alabama play Notre Dame is when I relized I did not have tickets for a national championship but I had tickets for Florida fuckin State vs the fuckin Northern Illinois......yea.....FUCKIN NORTHERN ILLINOIS..........................

Dad went from a hero to a zero in no time flat, I spent a fortune for a fuckin bowl game...........to this day Ted breaks my balls about that game. I have taken him to NBA finals games, we made a world series and a supper bowl over the years but he always brings up the Orange Bowl game where we wore Notre Dame shirts and rooted for the Irish all night. the people all around us thought we were nuts.

ouch.

"Daddy?"

"Yes, son?"

"What does regret mean?"

"Well, son, the funny thing about regret is that it's better to regret something you have done than to regret something you haven't done. And by the way, if you see your mom this weekend, will you be sure and tell her SATAN! SATAN! SATAN!"

Sounds like an unreleased instrumental Fairport Convention tune.
