Seen DakhaBrakha four times now and there is nothing like it. They started using high end visuals since the invasion that are dark and trippy and more akin to Tool or Pink Floyd's the Wall.
Wow! Saw them tonight ay City Winery Hudson Valley. Lots of native Ukrainians in traditional clothes there and many tears shed.
Ken is right ... the visuals behind the band were powerful. For example... one song had an endless loop of white birds flying in formation who morphed into warplanes. In the same song there was an illustration of a mother holding a young child and a bandage with a blood stain faded onto his hat. The red devilish creatures with daggers appeared around the mother and child.... then green uniformed soldiers appeared around the mother and held off the devils with shields in the blue and yellow of the Ukrainian flag.
Oh, and the music was powerful and unique. Very drum (like a marching band) driven with vocal riffs the intertwined and Bass, accordions, and keys that played simple riffs that intertwined as they rose and fell.

I saw them play in Abu Dhabi
I saw them play in Abu Dhabi a few years ago. They opened for Dengue Fever. I thought they were interesting.
Glad to know they are still happening.
