Dark Matter

Forums:

Watching "How the Universe Works" right now - they're talking about "Dark Stars" - the primordial stars in the universe and possible source of black holes.

I've heard about Dark Matter. They say that it is the glue that holds the universe together, and that it accounts for the mass out there that we cannot see.

But then I heard of Dark Energy and haven't been able to look that up yet.

Bueller?

Just as regular matter can be transformed into energy,so too can dark matter be transformed into dark energy.

Oh, man. Can we tap into this dark energy, and do we want to?

Probably not. Dark matter and regular matter can't interact with each other, although both react to gravity. Most likely dark energy is equally inaccessible to us.

Scotty just stuff that shit back in there - will ya?

dark matter matters?

Whats the matter?

I guess it doesn't matter anyway.

what is the estimated % of dark matter vs non-dark matter? I would imagine dark matter far eclipses other matter, no?

Matter of fact, it's all dark.

I believe dark matter comprises 84% of all matter.
