Dashiki Joe's return to la Zone...

Forums:

Grateful greetings, Pham!  The longer the skid...the harder it is to remember, um, passwords!!  Big thank you and huggs to JilllovesPhil for passing along my sentiments....she sooooooo rocks!!  Woohoo!!!  Such a  happy hippy to return home to the Zone!  It is a special time in my life....I'm now a grampa too....a couple of visits ago to San Francisco I snapped a shot of Phil with his grandson at Terrapin Crossroads...when I can figure out how to upload, I'll share!  But now I have my own grampa pics too!!!  Thanks for the PLU love...after 10 years, I finally started writing a book about the experience...as a gift of gratitude to the man we all love, who made it possible, and I just think it would be a fitting tribute to memorialize the event as a special thank you!!!  The boards and the zone was a big part of that story and I will be asking for some input in the weeks to come!  In other news, diid you catch Jackie Greene's bday show at the Warfield??  Woohoo!!  So glad I made it....just before Phil and Bobby walked off stage, they were talking to each other toward the back of the stage.  I saw Phil stand alittle taller, which grabbed my attention, and it was to position himself to plant a kiss on the top of Bobby's forehead!  They turned and walked off stage, Bobby slightly in front of Phil, so I'm sure Phil couldnt seee the look on Bobby's face...but it was, in a word, priceless!!

Gratefully yours,

Dashiki Joe

~9 mile skid on a 10 mile ride!  Woohoo!!

Welcome back

Good stuff, Joe!

I'm a new guy and am glad to meet you and read the stories you have to share.

Noice!

Uh oh. Another "I've chronicled my experience, it's coming soon" type deal.

Here we go again?

Show us wa'chu' got.

((((((heartHELLO JOEheart)))))))

Good Morning Joe~

Glad you enjoyed Jackie out West with all his friends.

Please put your thoughts on paper so we can all read it.

Welcome Joe

Good to "see" you again!

Woohoo!  Old phriends and new....big huggs to all, especially the donster and Jillluvsphil...!  Hahaha...i am so conscious of the "chronicled my experience" route....all I have to offer is that this is really going to be more in the line of a tribute to Phil, will be set forth in easy-to-read page-turner fashion, and apologize for any appearances of self-agrandizement (just made that word up I think, or at least this spelling...)!  But you have to admit....the whole Phil Lesh University concept was pretty unique and, I'm hoping, interesting, and an experience worthy of being chronicled!  Hoping it will also be worthy of Phil's blessing, as well as perhaps a "forward" from the man himself...???! Donster...I intend to do a reference to the first time he attempted to do this around 9/11....I never would have known that had it not been for you!!  (and thanks for the kind comments on the last .org!)  Especially want to pay some homage to LouiefcknLardo!! RIP, brother!! The Phil Zone was so instrumental, in so many ways, and so many of you were there!!  All I can say is....Ahhhhhhhhhhh!!!!

~9 mile skid where my mind should be!  Woohoo!!

Hey bro. Nice to see you back.

Hey bro. Nice to see you back.

(((((((((((((LFL)))))))))))

Lily is very bad with Zoner names/handles.

LFL will forever be The Nice Man From Pittsburgh.

Hooked LFL up with a ticket for the DeadHeads for Obama show at Penn State

It was nice to talk about PLU a bit in the lot

Good people

welcome back to the (new) black screen, Dashiki !!

we've never met... I'm a left-coaster and was just joining the Zone a decade ago when PLU was happening, and I didn't post much back then

but I've always admired your positivity and general Zone presence

hopefully we can meet in 3-D one of these days... probably at a show!

Woohoo!!  Great to hear from all of you....LOVE the pic of LFL!!  Miss him, and think I remember seeing him at that Penn State show....(must have been a good one!! LOL!!!) Thanks, Gary...hey, I have a grandson on the Left coast now, and my daughter has been there since 02, so I'll be getting out there more now than ever!!  And I think I made a booboo....been seeing Donster here for years, but it may have been, I believe, Shakin' Nagan who tipped me off on the 9/11 PLU aborted attempt!  (I'll get it right for the book, I promise!)  Happy hippy holidaze, amigos!!

~9 mile skid on a 10 mile ride!  Woohoo!!
