Thanx for the memory. Haven't listened to them for years.

Hometown show -- was cool to see them in the same place I saw the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Cirus and the Harlem Globetrotters as a kid.

Caught Springfield a few weeks before but missed Barton Hall because of finals.

Cornell show is way over rated in my opinion. Never listen to it.

And Baltimore 80 was my first GD show. 82 with the Raven space was epic. I saw Heart with Ian Hunter  there in 1980/81? Usually went to to the Capital Centre for big shows.

I have gotten the subscription over the past few years.  Like most I have my preferences, but they are all pretty solid releases.  I also custied up for a few of the glasses.  Passed on the cards.

Saw the Spectrum show that tour a few weeks earlier--it was solid, but they got better as the tour went on!

77 gets better the closer you get to 78

I can't find one flubbed note or verse on this entire release.  It's really top notch.

I just received it yesterday and the little I heard so far sounds just exactly perfect.  I was surprised that they added a filler tune on disc 2 from 7/19/90.  Usually the fillers are close to the date of the release.

Thomas G. - I would be happy to send you a copy, shoot me an email.

Yeah it kind of took my by surprise when I started hearing the NFA chant from a 77 show.

>surprised that they added a filler tune on disc 2 from 7/19/90

This was the encore that they did not have room for on Dave's Picks 40

^ I didn't realize that, makes sense.

I listened to it today, really dug the 3rd disc. I thought the filler was a little out of place.

Excellent show

Filler is totally out of place, agree.  The could have easily put something from the same tour as filler to keep the spirit if the era, but whatever.  May was a high water mark but as fishcane says above, 77 gets better as it slides towards 78--those Oct/Nov 77 shows, like the U of Oklahoma on 10/11/77 or the War Memorial in Rochester on 11/5/77are sublime.

Agreed, and 11/5/77 is Dicks Picks 34.

The 11/5/77 show was one of my 1st bootlegs. I caught the next Rochester show for my first in 1978 and never missed another.in the land of Genesee.
