very theatrical. very percussive. very choreographed. Byrne and the 12 musician/dancers didn't stop moving for the entire show (9-11 / no intermission/ there was an opening act from 8 - 845).
Fun Fact - David Byrne grew up just outside Baltimore, graduated high school not all that far from Merriweather, and briefly attended Maryland Institute College of Art (71-72).
Noodler - I think it was you that posted the pics of the red agate -- if so, nice rocks. I think you showed a collection of some nice points too. One day maybe I'll post some pics of stone tools that I've picked up.
the curtain behind everyone was a major element of the show -- hanging "ropes" of chain mail / beads, which allowed for quick and seamless "pass thrus" of people and instruments.
The opening act was solo piano classical piano jazzy guy and gagged pregnant mannequin draped with American Flag surrounded by "body" parts -- it offended the guy behind me
Same opening act for us, great stuff! Like some of the sonics he did with the mics, and those stage antics seemed perfect to set up D.Byrnes set.
Love collecting agates, and rockhounding in general... think my names on 34 claims right now, mostly metals (gold, silver, copper, etc), though I did discover two spots with jade on a skarn last summer. Still need to dial it in.
and I was serious about the marble, as we have part of one of Fay Bristols old marble mines in SW Oregon. The Washington Monument has some of that stone. Those spotted skunk pics I post are from his old cabin.

Nice phase in the crowd awaiting the encore... and I agree on the Chatty Cathies, the talkestra was silenced by the mighty Byrne!
