Death to all modifiers, Judit declared one day, and out of every Puddles post went every adverb and every adjective. The next day she made war on articles. She reached a much higher plane of creativity the following day when she blacked out everything in his posts but a, an and the. That erected more dynamic intralinear tensions, she felt, and in just about every case left a message far more universal.
I don't really hate the Croz. If Only I Could Remember.... is a great work and I, like others, love that one a ton.
Not a fan of his whole live thing and to me, the true test of a musician is in the live. I think he could put a hell of a lot more effort into that realm. I guess the fact that there are many out there not in the know who put him on Neil's level, just cause they were in the same band once time, does bother me a bit for some strange and slightly disquieting reason.
But he's said many times he's not, so he got points in my book for that. Don't know anything of his Twitter stuff since I don't do that but from what I've heard, I like.
I have a cool Crosby vid I took when he played in a free WDHA, NJ concert in 93 with Jeff Pevar on guitar. It also had From Good Home;s aka Railroad Earth on the bill. It's in VHS but have no converter to make it digital. It's pretty cool and David was on and seemed in good spirits. Actually only time I've seen him. I was impressed though. Maybe one day will convert it to post on Youtube.
I would disagree that his live work is not of a high quality. I've always enjoyed his own shows very much, a few to a VERY high level, and I've always liked his personal contributions to live CSN, CSNY & CN shows. IMO the dude sings like an angel and is an extremely good/great live singer.
As to putting him on Neil's level, considering his entire career and all the things he's done & been involved with he is IMO deservedly his own rock legend, in the way a Carlton Fisk or Reggie Jackson is a baseball legend compared to a Babe Ruth or Willie Mays.

Lance hitting it out of the Park again......To me that makes sense. Being Born and raised in the Bronx especially so. Not sure about the Carlton Fisk part though. I should mention I am not a fan of the sox. And did I mention I am from the New York area?

I'm being a total hypocrite making the statement I made because I haven't seen him live in like 25 years and back then I saw him a grand total of 3 times.
I could have seen some bad shows and he could have been at a point in his life where he really didn't give a fuck about performing or a hundred other things. Maybe I saw him in a shit window when it comes to live stuff.
I thought it went against something important to tell the exact same stories at all the shows I saw in different venues like he was a cyborg but maybe he was battling sever anxiety or something, who knows?
He's got a great voice--that's his big weapon in a live setting but I hate the sound of it, so there's that too.

Not a bad analogy.
Not a bad analogy. Substitute Cobb for Mays though.
Mays was the best but maybe stayed around a little too long. I have a feeling Neil's gonna be breathing fire until the end.

Whether Crosby is a NY or not
Whether Crosby is a NY or not is irrelevant when he has an album endorsed by the Vatican and Neil does not.
And maybe that doesn't matter either, except that Phil is on that album.
