David Nelson Band Sweetwater tonight & tomorrow?

Forums:

I forgot about these shows and there's been no chatter about them here, which is surprising. Did I miss something? Are they still happening?

If things align tomorrow I was considering heading up there, any reason not to?

I guess I could just look at the Sweetwater site, but the black screen has always been my default for all things Nelson.

Is nothing sacred?!?

I'll go look.

I wish I was going to these but will just have to aim for June 12.

We will be there this evening (Sat).

Flying in was a shitshow.  We were one of those people in a three hour line.  It mist have stretched a couple miles outside the airport (in a drizzling rain) and just when you thought it was the end of the line ... no sir... it was just a fold and continued for another hour. It was just herd mentality. No info or authority doing crowd control.  You just followed the people in front of you. Everyone was quite nice. Security gate was a joke... they were basically just waving the frenzied mob thru.  Funny, in the conveyor belt mayhem I picked up someone else's belt -- I put it on and... hey wait a minute... this belt is too small!  It looked exactly like mine. We had to run to the gate and would have missed our flight if it left as scheduled except boarding was delayed. Lucky us.  Then another delay in Denver.

Why are there no dispensaries in Marin? The place where the term 420 was invented.

I gotta head up to Sebastopol to my old house so no worries, but it seems strange there's nothing but delivery here in Corte Madera.

I'll be there tonight. There is video of last night's 2nd set on fb.

^ R thanks for the invite and info.  I did make it to Sebastopol for a day trip to go to the dispensary in the middle of town, next to where that hotel used to be.  Since I was visiting Occidental Rd out by Andy's Market we went to Graton for lunch.  We are staying in Corte Madera since it is close to Mill Valley.

Sweetwater was great.  It sounded so good last night -- the bass especially.  It's a social hall almost as much as a music venue. Good peeps all around.

Friday night was fantastic and the band at Club Fox for Arthur's birthday party last night was just incredible! What a weekend.

I'm sorry I missed this. Priorities you know.

Club Fox is a great little venue, I love that place.

But who's Arthur?

Everyone knows an Arthur.  Arthur is the guy at shows who gives out CDs that he labels with indecipherable writing, who stands in line at GD related shows hours in advance, who is at every show somehow, who spent hrs addressing mail in ticket requests, etc., etc.

He actually looks like the guy in the show laminate (which is a cut out of the poster I made him as a birthday present. )

You've definitely seen him.

Oh, THAT Arthur.

LOLOLOL!

"I already told you. Don't say 'that's right Arthur' all the time. Just say it once in a while."

"That's right Arthur."

~ Bob and Ray

the guy sure throws an excellent bday party

the Zero tunes and the Morning Dew were the highlights for me

Same here. Cole's Law>Tangled Hangers baby!

Those 3 songs were the highlights for me on Sunday also. Great shows both Sat and Sunday and it was great meeting you Alan.   Missed you HTT.

Check out the mystic clip above. Was the highlight of the Saturday show for me.

Awesome Garden Of Eden I Pulled The Audio in WAV format Burned to Disc then i drove around in my 4Runner to Barry Sless Bliss  so freaking good  dnb.cooldevil

Thanks Mark.

I just couldn't motivate for the drive on Saturday and I didn't know about the show on Sunday.

Was that event open to the public? It looks like it was a good one and Club Fox is much more accessible for me, I might have found myself at that one.

While I'll somehow get over missing it, it's good that you folks made it.

Carry on with that.

There was a very strict guest list of 170.

And once again, being the proverbial 171 leaves me out in the cold.

Sigh.
