PART I: TRICK
I had so much fun going "Pier to Pier" with the Kids last month, but now it's time to pull into port -- Port Chester, NY, that is -- and drop anchor for two nights at "Peter Shapiro's Deadhead Palace", The Capitol Theatre.

So I'm inviting all of you to my East Coast "Daze of the Dead" parties. Please dress in costume (if the spirit moves). Billy & The Kids will be joined for both of these shows by some very special guests -- I'll keep you guessing for now, but I'm just over the moon about them.

When we dance, we are all together, we are all one, and we are all very much alive. This "Daze of the Dead" trick is for New York but don't you worry California - stay tuned for a special treat.

So dazed he forgot to announce the dates?

Waiting for the California announcement...

> I'm just over the moon about them.

Warren's been doing DSOTM and he's off for a couple weeks when the Cap shows happen.

This looks like fun, but unnamed special guests are almost always unnamed because you would never know who they are if they named them.

Except for many of the people here who have encyclopedic knowledge of every back up band member in every band.

Oct 30 and 31 are still open on the CAP calendar... but Philoween is usually announced by now... doesn't seem like a 2-day run on weekdays would be likely as those dates may not draw as many travelers...  discuss!

Hope Zoner easties make it to the B&K shows... last saw them at RR with Billy Strings.... so good!

With Billy Strings of course is good. With Tom Hamilton meh.

I like Reed Mathis.

Part 1: Trick

Did I miss seeing what Part 2 is?

I assume that "Treat" is going to be Halloween either The Warfield or The Fox.

Bobby is at the Frost 10/29, with nothing scheduled after that.  That's my guess for a Halloween special guest.

Billy Strings has his own Halloween show, but is free on the Cap dates.

Got it. Thanks.

He and I use this term in different ways

No worries:  Phil will play Cap.  Just look at calendar:  10.30,31 + 10.16,17,18 + 10.23,24,25.  And he;ll sell quite well with 30-days or less on sale notice.  Always does.  It is the CAP.

The Mountain Winery is an unexpected treat, a very short drive from home.

Ah, just saw this after I posted a different thread about the Bay Area show.

The Winery is a head scratcher for sure. Hippies in the hills! All those toney Saratogans who live around there will be horrified.

A small, rather stiff outdoor venue, far from and not easily accessible to much of the Bay Area, freezing and very possibly raining. There's nothing booked at the larger Frost or better yet the Warfield for that night, I'm really surprised AEG put the show at the Winery.

BTW, the AEG ticket link shows the presale starts tomorrow the 12th.

encore: Golden Road to unlimited devotion

(elective set)

First of a run of Cali shows with Stu Allen sitting in for Jeff, at the posh Mountain Winery in swanky Saratoga overlooking Silicon Valley.

as a capital J “Jeff guy” let me say that Stu integrated  with the boys near-seamlessly. Great onstage communication, real gone jams, and some novel, well-executed transitions - particularly the segue from China Cat into Corrina.

Venue is breathtaking - the old Paul Masson winery built in 1852. Mighty old for the west coast. Surrounded by vineyards, astonishing views, and a very small, intimate amphitheater. Bathrooms and water refills were kind of a trek. Security up front were pretty aggressive about keeping aisles clear and checking tickets for empty seats. But we know how to have a good time so we worked around it.

I’m not going to Days Between this year but I expect nothing but excitement from this Stu-pid awesome configuration.

Wow Rich-

That looks like it may have been the longest show at Mountain Winery ever.

In for Santa Barbara, just barely though. For some reason, I thought presale was Friday, then found out it's tomorrow, but oh wait, the real presale is today. Nonetheless, got some sweet seats down frontish.

Yes it is

I'll go see Stu Allen and Mars Hotel at the Junction on Halloween. Closer to home and gauranteed to be a better show......
