Stay Tuned __In A Little While.................

That poster is sick!

I'm too old and cranky to deal with that traffic or stadium shows period... but I'm glad its happening. Who could've honestly imagined Bob and the GD songs in a stadium 23 years after Jerry checked out?!?  It's a crazy life...

I left my binoculars there at a '73 Dodgers game.

Wow Knot, there was nobody there.

You must have been on time.

BEAT LA...

Currently 103 degrees, feels like 106.

One way or another, it's gonna be a smoker.

Stay hydrated folks.

Me and my buddy down the street made it to the scoreboard in the late 60's...   got given a card that said "Happiness is...."  and you open it to this picture.  Seen many a game there, would be a fun place to see the dead

IMG_1899 copy.jpg

Do they allow you to roam the different levels for shows, or is it like the baseball games there, where you're locked into whatever tier you're on?

you have to leave after drums>space or the 7th inning whichever occurs first...

Bunch of good streams tonight;

Eric Krasno, Joe Russo, and MonoNeon at the Brooklyn Bowl (just started)

Krasno, Russo, and MonoNeon deserve a thread of their own.  Great stuff! ^^^^^

Set 2

Sugar Magnolia

The kids on the stream chat all are calling the Sugar Mag>Scarlet>Fire

I just turned tv on...and the nugs stream is free tonite, and came up as a choice to watch...of course, i have no idea how to find it....if it didnt come up as a viewing choice i wouldnt know where to look on a tv etc....

But, pretty cool.....see where we go from sugar mag...kids were right....scarlet...and kids were right but i was wrong...typical....nugs just showing first song of set. Like they always do

The nugs free (first song?) stream is way ahead of the mixlr streams...   I think there was an episode of MASH where they covered this

Hello Jambone & Happy July 4th Week laugh

Hello Stu...hope you had a great holiday week etc...hope everyone did...

Sorry--- i missed that episode of Mash, Noodler, i didnt miss many...;)......, but, my bad on "next song" etc...didnt mean to jump the gun

Think it was where Frank Burns was betting on games by getting results early, then again, could be thinking of "the sting", lol

Sweet 2nd set so far!  Oteil is stealing bases, and Rock star weir is here in da house.  John is the Bomb!  And da drummers be a thumpin...   and of course this guy

Not Fade Away

Hopefully things have calmed down outside the stadium.

Good show tonight.

http://mixlr.com/couch-tour-time-machine/

I'd say check out that Stream.

Could be Really Quite Nice ??

Sweet

(and I'd just put on some Doug Sahm;   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eiI0FTBLKek)

That's freaking awesome, LMAO!!!

Fuck Ron Cey.

And as Dead & Co. was likely very good blasting a stadium, Phil in his little room was BLASTING as well.

Damn he was rocking tonight.

Things continue to be pretty darn good all over.

Dont forget to tell the duck joke , Bob....

No One More Saturday Night, on a Saturday night? That alone makes this show special!

Looks very fun

Grate looking show. I wish I went but it just wasn't possible.

Thought that Dodgers'  show was pretty good,  technical issues were not too terrible.

To me it sounded more cohesive / fluid compared to Shoreline or Chula Vista.

Of course,  I was not there.  So my opinion is based solely upon the audio stream.

killer vintage Ron Cey card.

i dosed my buddy. hope he had fun.

Wasn't Ron Cey's nickname The Penguin?

Kind of close to a duck.

Ya nailed it^, its the penguin...ya had to see him run

If you all are going to talk about Ron Cey in a Dead & Co. thread then I'm out of said thread.

Fuck Ron Cey.

hey, fuck yourself. this is a dodger stadium dead thread man. the penguin was awesome.

maybe they will play at your ballpark and you can get more of those killer bobble head things or whatever jerry corpse hump tie in they can market...

Ya, cmon Lance, we re talking about the Cey Hey Kid

Steve Garvey, Davey Lopes, Bill Russell, Ron Cey

That was a great infield.  Much better than the Giants rolled out in the late '70s, although they did have Tito Fuentes, which is a fun name to say.

What the hey did Cey do to you Lance?

Dusty Baker, Rick Monday, Reggie Smith

Bench: old vets like manny mota, vic davelillo, and boog powell, and always a few talented kids

Don sutton, burt hooten, tommy john, charlie hough

No wonder these guys  (and the big red machine or the pirates) dominated the NL in the 70 s

A friend of ours who is handicapped was parked as far away from the stadium as possible (next to the front entrance to the parking lot) parking attendants told him to call Dodgers hotline # for golf cart pick up to and from the front gates. He said he called around 6:35pm and was told they were to busy and he would need to walk into the show from shakedown street. Luckily he could but almost passed out from heat exhaustion during the first set.

Anybody have any other stories to share. One of his relatives is reaching out to ADA lawyer.

The Giants had an aging Willie McCovey, but not much else I remember.

Maybe a Niekro brother?

The Giants had Jack Clark/Vida Blue/McCovey (retired end of 79)/Bill Madlock/ Mike IVIE/Bob Knepper and others. It was 1978 and that was the last year they made a run in the 70's before fizzling in August.

I went to Dodger (Chavez Ravine) only time in 1979 with a pal- 4 game set with the Giants. Dodgers took 3 out of 4. Beautiful Stadium.

oh yeah--- fuck Ron Cey

and Garvey

i saw a ton of games 1976-1984

great era.

and one of the best ball parks in america.

Mad Dog, Poison Ivey and Jack The Ripper.  Yeah, I remember those guys.  Vida Blue I always thought of as an Oakland Athletic, but he gave the Giants some good years too.

Remember Atlee Hammaker?  Played from '82-'90 for the Giants.  He went to my high school, and helped get the team to the State Championship game.  Had a great 1983 season where he started the All-Star Game but got bombed for 7 runs in 0.2 innings, giving up the only grand salami in ASG history to Freddy Lynn.

I liked those Giants teams.

In 75 , Giants had two young promising young kids in outfield w an old vet...gary mathews, gary maddox, and bobby murcer...they were all gone in a cpl years...bad trades and the free agent era hurt this mismanaged team...

Count of Montefusco...chris speir...above mentioned etc...they had talent, but i blv they were a 81-81 team at best most of that era

Well I guess I opened that door up didn't I?

>>>What the hey did Cey do to you Lance<<<

He killed the Giants, just killed' em. And then he went to the Cubs and he killed them there. Dumpy little penguin.

Those were my formative years, and the Giants always sucked in those days and the Dodgers were great.

But while the games were always brutal you could get away with a lot in the '70s, and there was nothing like a Giants/Dodgers night game at Candlestick back then.

It was a party.

And common' Turtle, every team does promotions, it's baseball tradition, the Giants just do it better. On Jerry Day at AT&T the Hallowed Sless, Molo & Sears set up on top of the 1st base dugout and play GD music before the game. At Dodgers Stadium you can get a Alex Wood bobblehead. Giants win.

Anyway, it's telling how it takes Dead & Company & a Giants fan to get any decent Dodgers commentary going around here.

Sad.

GO GIANTS!!!!

Madlock was traded in 1979 for . . . . Ed WHITSON

Probably the worst trade in SF Giants history.

Bill Madlock, with a .305 career batting average, is the only player to win 4 batting titles and not be in the Hall Of Fame.
