And it all went down on a Tuesday night in Phoenix, LIKE a Phoenix!!

Was anyone on the list in attendance?

I saw The Dead play here when it was called Desert Sky Pavilion.  It was more recently known as the AK-Chin Pavilion, and is now the Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre.  It sits on the outskirts of Phoenix.  20,000 capacity with room in the pavilion for 8,000 and the rest on the lawn.

Unreal.

The palm trees at sunset gives it a Hotel California vibe.

Strawbud you were there?  Was it as great as it looks on paper?

Jay, in my opinion, that would at least be a  resounding YES. They pulled the ole Tuesday night sleeper-smoker and every cylinder, connected by rods between the stage and the crowd, was 'psynched' and firing as directed by the magic gods. A keeper. The big guns are out and if you have any incling whatsoever go see this band on its final hurrah which so far has been astounding.

Thanks for the glowing review Straw.

I'm at the final 3

Thanks krab.

I am listening again and it's still sounding good to my ears. I will admit that I was maybe a bit over the top in my assessment but, as ever, this band is a solid house band for big Deadhead parties and I really enjoy hanging out with old friends and meeting new ones thereof. Always a gas! Where else can 'the tribes' all come together these days and take over venues and surrounding areas with relative ease? Believe it if you need it, if you don't, just pass it on. I really enjoyed having the distinct opportunity and pleasure to meet and party with Big Steve Parrish and many other fine folks in the lot and shows in LA too. I have a lot of respect for what he and the whole crew and larger organization did over the years and this feels like a nice way to celebrate all of that. This was the Sat Nite that Parrish "sat in" on Drumz and I woulda shit a brick had he worn that shirt on stage. LOL. Cheerz!
