Terry-pin (not Casey) at the bat!

Rain delay

Fortunately, the squall line is moving fairly quickly from the NW to SE, so not likely to "train" on top of the show...

(in other words, hopefully a short delay, but so much for layering shows, lol)

This band is sounding very good to these ears. I'm extremely surprised.  It has been great listening to these streams the past 2 to 3 weeks.  I've never given Dead & Co. much thought until now. What's impressing me the most is Weir's voice.  He is singing the best I've heard him in decades. His vocals have been in decline for a long time now and to hear him sounding so good lately is kind of blowing my mind. He still flounders at times trying to pull off a Jerry ballad, but mostly his vocals are strong and he modulates them well to fit each individual song. Again, I'm kind of stunned by this because his vocals have been a big turn off for me for many years now. Up til now I assumed Dead & Co. was kind of a nostalgia act, but I was wrong.  They are a very tight improvisational band.  Mayer is damned impressive.  My hat is off to them.  Oh, the fact that they are doing Dark Star>St. Stephen,>The Eleven these days ain't bad either.

No hat

LLTD comes on these threads for no other purpose than to spread shit vibes. We get it, dude, you don't like the band and think that you're better than the people who do. How about if you leave it at that and stay off these threads?

When PLF, TOO, Furthur, etc comes on XM I change the station. When DeadCo comes on, especially this tour, I don't. They've really found their groove, especially Mayer, and I find them more interesting to listen to than those other iterations. I don't always love Mayer's vocals, but I'll live.

I challenge anyone to show me a better vocalist/guitarist than Mayer currently touring.

JM had the blues feel running all throughout the show, more so than other shows in recent memory, me likey.

Speaking of brilliant vocals and playing, Jakko has been an absolute supernova this past tour.  The entire band's playing has been miraculous.

20210918_101614.jpgJM's been hittin the note pretty consistently this tour too. We've been well treated by the live music offerings of late.

Just watched the first half of Set II while doing cardio. It was pretty friggin' hot.

Agree about Weirs vocals. Very strong. Sounds like he did in the 80's.
