And a Good Evening to you too kind sir!

Have a bunch of friends at the show, hope it's a ripper!

Meanwhile, we're celebrating our College Baseball World Championship, literally down the block.  Joan and I almost went, but was already full, with literally thousands coming from all directions!  In 170 some odd years, our 4th world championship (3 in baseball, think the other was in cross country or something).  Go Beavers!!!  (my alma mater)

Here's a few pics from the Portland Rally earlier today!

First set was fucking phenomenal!

Well, they were asking what was everyone's fave Dead and Co show so far this tour...  I was going to say that half set that was shut down by the weather, but this last set is now my fave from tour

Chimenti killing it on Cumberland, and its right in JM wheelhouse....best first set since Atlanta...no problem getting started tonite...good tidings for 2  etc

Somebody slipped Billy a Mickey?

From what I heard from Mr. Charlie to the end sounded pretty good.  Bobby singing Loser and Crazy Fingers is a little rough.  The Cumberland was getting pretty loosey goosey, in a good way.

It's weird not being there.  I had to cover things back here and it wasn't in the cards.  They got better weather today out there than here in Seattle.

The photo and the stream are nice substitutes.

Thanks.

*First time played

Listening to second set tonight.  Imagine it must be beautiful out at the gorge.   Impossible to have a bad time.

Oteil consistently does a nice job on CAT.  Despite the jazz fusion take and the default blues licks from Mayer, these guys do the song justice.  Same with World to Give.

I was surprisingly impressed with the first half of Terrapin which is sort of the litmus test for this group in this set.  John has practiced the the licks and gave a lot of thought into both the vocals and guitar.  For a few minutes I felt like I was starting to get it and then Bob launched in to the Inspiration verse...

glad heads are having fun!  :)

Have not listened to hardly any of the tour other than Citi field which I liked. Loved todays Gorge show.  A very strong performance. Bobby was at his best and JM killed it. In my opinion the best continuous groove from Dead Co. since day one.

Anyone else likey?

The show is being replayed right now.

Awesome quality.

http://mixlr.com/summerfloatilla3/

Its def best ive heard, KK...id guess ive heard 80% or so of their shows etc....

Anyone listening to replay, let me know if you hear tease i mentioned above during Eyes...;)

Alone Again.... Gilbert O'sulivan .....was scratching my head during the live sream.......but picked it off on the replay.

Yo jambone.  You do any of this tour?

great tempos tonight...  damn, they're a rock band again!  >>>>>

Nail on the head!!!

video from nugs stream here..probably wont last too long https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pdp4qjl7G-I

Ok, thanks for confirming! And thats what i wrote above...gilbert o sullivan etc...just wanted to make sure i wasnt hearin things...lol...i saw Htfd show, missed a lil of first set...(which i heard later, and i didnt miss much..lol). Second set was very good, but show itself i thought was only slightly better than Saratoga, which i thought was real weak....i was disapointed as after listening to Atlanta and Raleigh, i though they were making strides....now we see them continue last night! I guess its gonna be a hit or miss act, last night was great, BUT, if i drove all way to Saratoga??? I woulda been ripping this band...lol

Now...good friend of mine did 6 shows...and she loved every minute...so, as we all know...always a huge differance if you there etc

Resprise?

^ hot Cumberland in 1st set of Hartford, thought that 2nd set was much better than Saratoga, nice surprises in China-Rider jams, Women Smarter surprisingly full of rich, up beat interplay, Space-ViolaLee was solid & Bobby did LLR justice..NFA closer.. Hartford seemed to be the start of a nice mid tour wave they rode out during the following shows, IMO..Hartford,Citifield, & last night were top 3

I agree w citifield , and last night...and like i said...i liked second set in Htfd...but that show was snoozer until cumberland (imo)...i still gotta put both Raleigh and def Atlanta, in front of htfd...either way, i think alot of ppl agree that this band hit a lil growth spurt this year...that space seemed old school last night, and jam in first playing was impressive....either Bobby has taken leash of JM, or JM is just feeling more comfortable and branching out now...lot of cool guitar work between the two, the drummers  sounded much louder, i mentioned that in first show of tour, i think theyve turned them up in mix etc, Oteil is ALWAYS strong, and the musical director?? Well, chimenti was MVP last night...he was awesome...

Thanx for your reviews jambone. i appreciate your open eyed honesty win, lose or draw.

spider thanx for the video link.  Am grooving on it.

Go Beavs

Go Bert Convey...

i haven't re-listened but that cumberland was smoking hot last night

Rail riders (cough), and the spectacular big picture;
