Interesting how they dumped Boulder for Fiddler's Green when they had been pulling in 2x the capacity at Folsom.  I really liked Boulder, but it is what it is.  I wouldn't be surprised if they tacked on another two dates prior to what's announced (especially since they had appeared on one of the rumors and there's a long gap).

Chicago on my birthday sounds cool.  I'd probably find something else to do, thoughcheeky

Has Shoreline completely skipped shows this summer?

I might can make St. LOUIS and Dallas.  We'll see.

Billy Strings isn't going to any of these.

Shoreline has a few shows scheduled for late summer/fall, so it's available.

Odd no BA dates on that schedule, I'd imagine something will get added.

NYE run at Chase?

No spot taken for any of these, but I have no problem with this band. I've always had a harmless, enjoyable time at their shows.

Nothing wrong with that.

Chase ing a sterile  NYE combo

after Shoreline?

a few crumbs

They set up a flashback to the 1985 Summer Tour with back to back nights at SPAC and Hershey Park.

Have to think we'll see a few more dates added out West.  No Gorge, no Autzen?

john mayer sucks

Colorado at the end of October? That's a big gamble. Dead and Snowco.

Also Fiddlers Green is a horrible venue. I'm sure CU does not want big events this year.

I think the last time I went there was to see The Other Ones.

I see a window for an address date at Jazz Fest in New Orleans.

>>>john mayer sucks<<<

I used to believe that too, was absolutely certain of it after seeing him live multiple times in multiple scenarios.

But over time & multiple more shows I've discovered that I was wrong about that.

And I was just looking at the Shoreline schedule; the week before the first shows of the tour is open. I could see a couple of shows being added in early August.

At this point those would also be the first shows of the season for The Dump. In the '90s a Grateful Dead weekend would often be the first shows of the year for the place. Dead $ Co. ain't nothin' like a '90s GD run, but their shows are still active; always a good way to indoctrinate the new staff.

Back in the day there would usually be about 05%-10% of new-hires who wouldn't come back after three days of you people.

Those GD runs were good at separating the pretenders from the contenders.

he sucks

cheeky

This makes way more sense than Phish tour.. Plenty of Northeast shows hopefully that will prevent a mob scene.. Phish doing 5 shows in the Northeast at 2 venues = clusterfuck. Hopefully the lawn is reasonable.. Love John Mayer, Love Oteil, Chimenti is amazing.. The boys are old and this is what they want to do god bless I'll be there for at least one show

Oh yeah and if Billy Strings wants to show up that will be even better devil

No spot taken... meditating on Philoween. ;)

If Shoreline booked those August dates, it would collide and contrast with the August 14 JRAD at Frost.

I am wondering about an announcement for tour part 2 that runs up to the NW and back to Bay Area for NYE.

Three shows in LA for Halloween? I'll be polite for a change, and just say that Halloween is my least favorite holiday, so I won't be attending.

I'll probably go cuzza' Tampa proximity and to see Bobby- the guys a beast, but the chances to see an original member who sang/wrote several GD classic's are shrinkin'. Well, that's if ticket's aren't too ridiculous.

Cuyahoga Falls (/ˌkaɪəˈhoʊɡə/ KY-ə-HOH-gə) is a city in Summit County, Ohio. As of the 2010 census, the city population was 49,652. It is the second-largest city in Summit County. The city was founded in 1812 by William Wetmore and was originally named Manchester, but renamed for the Cuyahoga River and the series of waterfalls that run along the southern boundary of the city.

The doodlebug disaster was a railway accident that occurred on July 31, 1940, in Cuyahoga Falls. A Pennsylvania Railroad, gasoline-powered "doodlebug" passenger rail car collided head-on with a freight train; the impact and resulting fire caused the deaths of all but three of the 46 on board.

Although both trains braked, their combined speed was 55 mph (89 km/h) when they collided at 5:58 p.m. The engineer, conductor and a railroad employee managed to jump free, though they were badly injured; but no one else on the doodlebug survived. As the lead freight engine telescoped 12 feet (3.7 m) into the railcar, its 350-US-gallon (1,300 l; 290 imp gal) gasoline tank ruptured and sprayed the interior of the coach with burning fuel, as the doodlebug was pushed over 500 feet (150 m) up the track by the momentum of the heavy freight train (which remained on the track); "flames shooting out twenty-five feet [7.6 m] in all directions. The medical examiner determined that only nine passengers were killed on impact, the rest were burned to death. Firemen fought the blaze for 45 minutes, but it would be several hours before the bodies could be removed; most required saws to separate them from the seats to which they had been fused by the flames. Ambulances soon gathered at the scene, but there were only the three railroad employees to take to hospital; instead, they took the charred bodies to funeral homes.

yikes

And then there's Randy Newman's take on the burning of the Cuyahoga River in June of 1969.

Burn On

There's a red moon rising
On the Cuyahoga River
Rolling into Cleveland to the lake

There's a red moon rising
On the Cuyahoga River
Rolling into Cleveland to the lake

There's an oil barge winding
Down the Cuyahoga River
Rolling into Cleveland to the lake

There's an oil barge winding
Down the Cuyahoga River
Rolling into Cleveland to the lake

Cleveland, city of light, city of magic
Cleveland, city of light, you're calling me
Cleveland, even now I can remember
'Cause the Cuyahoga River
Goes smokin' through my dreams

Burn on, big river, burn on
Burn on, big river, burn on
Now the Lord can make you tumble
And the Lord can make you turn
And the Lord can make you overflow
But the Lord can't make you burn

Burn on, big river, burn on
Burn on, big river, burn on

Comment from an Instagram thread discussing a leaked false tour date list:

"John Mayer will ruin yer trip.... you'll question everything."

laugh

Colorado at the end of October!? WTF

And I bet this tour is postponed till next year with the new strain and possible strains to emerge.

>Shoreline booked those August dates, it would collide and contrast with the August 14 JRAD at Frost.

might not be a problem - sorry to say this but the FROST shows are not yet confirmed and since the University is requiring all returning students to be vaccinated I just think it's unlikely that the University will be hosting a large GA show on campus.

If the promoter had sold pods for the show, or assigned seating it would be more likely that the show would go on. I suspect the show will be rescheduled, only because this is the only show still being promoted for the summer there. Color me jaded but I think the promoter is happy to hold onto the ticket sales for yet another year..

^^^^ hope that's not true as I did buy a ticket... need some JRAD in my life.... I'm even thinking about their 3-night run in NJ!

I see a window for an address date at Jazz Fest in New Orleans.

That's happening, it's not there ticket to sell so it will be announced when Fest annouces.

JRAD just canceled the Red Rocks show for June 4th a couple of weeks ago, the only two shows not canceled are LA and Frost,I bet they cancel them in June.

too bad billy strings wasn't jackie greene

I went back to Ohio
But my city was gone
There was no train station
There was no downtown

South Howard had disappeared
All my favorite places
My city had been pulled down
Reduced to parking spaces
Ay, oh, way to go, Ohio

Well, I went back to Ohio
But my family was gone
I stood on the back porch
There was nobody home

I was stunned and amazed
My childhood memories
Slowly swirled past
Like the wind through the trees
Ay, oh, way to go, Ohio

I went back to Ohio
But my pretty countryside
Had been paved down the middle
By a government that had no pride

The farms of Ohio
Had been replaced by shopping malls
And Muzak filled the air
From Seneca to Cuyahoga Falls
Said, ay, oh, way to go, Ohio

My wife is so excited she is flopping around like a fish out of water. I am like dipping a toe in to see if its too cold or not.

WPB is 50 minutes up the road..................

Waiting to see what King Crimson does....

T maybe we can finally meet this tour after a few failed attempts at shows. Will probably do both Florida shows, but it is close to my closing date on my new home in Ft. Myers, and moving could fuck it all up. See you in Tampa Earl, you know how to find me, find the large smoke signals going up.

For what it's worth I would love to drink a beer with a zoner in Dallas or Houston. As of now(things change in my life every fifteen minutes) I'm locking in and loading pre-sale tomorrow and making hotel reservations.

Mayer or not I want to hear some live Grateful Dead music. I'll be flying solo, diggit.

We took the three year old to the Louisiana State Fair and I popped my two year no live music cherry with about twenty five other audience members to Tone Loc(haha). He was angry because there was only twenty five semi- interested audience members.

Ain't jackshit live music wise happening in my geography.

 I'm looking forward to October.

Zero Tone loc images.

Really good to see you, Jaz. And the young one.

As always love ya, J.

I haven't been around much of late.

Just stuff,,, ya know . Most here can relate,  I presume.

I need more shows.

I am one of the privileged who will be allowed to throw money at Ticketmaster this morning... Yeah, Joe- Amalie here we come.  (I promise to do WAY better in the herbal dept. this time around.)  ;-)

Great shot, Jaz- you coulda' helped a little with that steering, though.

Alright,,  tour dates

>>I popped my two year no live music cherry with about twenty five other audience members to Tone Loc

I hope that it was the funky cold medina that you needed!

I just booked a hotel for Hartford, and I'll grab some tix at 10.

Hartford for us as well,, 45 mins from home. If you care to save a few bucks you're welcome at our house bk.

Much appreciated, Ras. I booked a non-refundable. The Super 8 was cheap, and it's close enough to walk

WAY too low-tech to get those pre-sale tix this morning. Fuck Ticketmaster and the hoarding re-sellers, anyway.

Ain't nuthin BK (but a good time)

Ahhh the super 8 I know it well. Got so tore up at an ABB show years ago I was invited to share some floor there by folks I just met that nite. They were even nicer to me the next morning sharing food and whatnot.

God Bless The Heads

I got hosed on presale. I had great seats and it locked up for 7 minutes. IT kept locking up on me, then rejected my code.

Go to the slow

have a great time all

cant do any of the dates that are even remotely close to me - i am booked up for all those dates with gigs all over the place, best i'll get is a few PPV maybe...

sucks but i am back to work finally so....

Lawn for West Palm and Tampa

My wife wasn't going to get shut out

She is a Booby and a Ratdog.org fan..........................

The Ticketmaster site was a disaster this morning but somehow I was able to get two decent seats for WPB.  My last show before covid lockdown was Wolf Bros in Miami.  looking forward to it!

i friend of mine got charlotte & atlanta for us.

No Colorado on sale today.  Any info out there if and when they go on sale.

Colorado shows are usually sold by AXS.

Thx HN

My boss persistently ground in there for 4 decent seats in Tampa, so I'm scooping in with him... $180. with service charges- that's the most I've ever paid for any form of entertainment in my life.

And the beat goes on... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=16LEElK1HhM

Envious of boss/ employee relations there ,Earl. Have a blast!

Lucky.

Clip about lucky comments from the Trinity trilogy western movies. You might recall this.

$814.00 for 4 tickets to Dallas
$74 for a round trip Hopper from NW Arkansas to Dallas
$678 for 4 tickets to Houston
$738 for 4 tickets to St. Louis

Getting to be a Custie for one more Dead tour....PRICELESS!!!!

Today was definitely the worst ever experience trying to get tickets and whoever decided to use Ticketbastard for these shows deserves to be repeatedly kicked in the balls.

You folks realize that there are like ten million people who love this band and are all trying to get tix at the same time, right?

No ticketing system would have seamlessly put all of you in the first ten rows.

I'm no TM apologist, but after all this time I'd think folks would realize these issues by now.

Enjoy your shows folks.

Personally, It was the almost $500 in "service fees" that got me a little salty.

For what? To send pictures of my tickets to my phone?

The front section in Dallas was $400 face value.

money green, it's the only way

Truth.

Onward!

I have certainly had more hassles getting tix in the past and did not consider this round to be too bad. I paid a total of right around $110 each for seats smack in the middle of Hollywood Bowl and look forward to shaking bones with a full house of freaks! Enjoy whatever shows and other events that you may be lucky enough to find yourself attending, whatever they may be, after such an absence due to such a sad and unfortunate dent in humanity.

Fuck it, I'm putting the money towards a trip to Sweden instead.  Eventually, this band will come back to the Gorge, where cheap tickets have never been a problem to find.  One of the benefits of being so remote from the rest of the country.

IMG-20210521-WA0001.jpg.

I am sure enjoying all the angst around this new Dead @ Co tour.

I went and saw them once at the SF Civic. Enjoyed being back in the big show atmosphere, and the music was okay. After the show, I felt the $100 dropped for a GA ticket had cost too much.

i mean, is the real interest the fact that bobby and the drummers are in the band?

i don't get it.

Nostalgia.

>> Nostalgia. <<

^ This. I've attended two D&C shows and it feels like a dead show in the lot, when the lights go down, etc....then the music starts and its OK, but no real face-melting going here.

It's a fun night out.

They're called the   *ahem*    core three,  turtle.

“Isn’t it weird that my dad is in the Core Four and yours isn’t?”

“I don’t know how to respond to that.”

Everyone goes to D&C shows for the chance of meeting Rockstar Richard!  Dead Head numero uno. He even met Jerry once!

Why do people go to the casino shows to see some group parroting themselves as one of the noteworthy Oldies acts that has a fraction of the original group?  To hear the old songs played, check out the side show, and get a little higher.

I've seen D&C.  They do a good job at presenting the atmosphere of a show, but like those other Oldies acts, little new ground is being broken.   Who knows, maybe they'll expand their repertoire for this tour?

What the fuck is a "rock star Richard?" LOL sounds like a run of the mill dick....

I agree with Herbal Dave and nedb. Good times with 'our kynd' of folks and brand of entertainment. The songbook and vibe  is very familiar and loved but the music lags a bit, although there can be some cool highlights/jams/transitions and other surprises tucked in there too. I always enjoy the full scale blasting of  Drumz>Space. A fun night out for sure.

I have certainly had more hassles getting tix in the past and did not consider this round to be too bad.<<<

I was literally being prepped at 10am on wed for a right heart cath procedure with an aterial line while on an exercise bike when I somehow was able to complete an order for a lawn seat for the first night at Fiddler's Green in between preliminary respiratory tests.  I had taken three different PFT's two days before, so I knew the drill completely and was able to multi-task.  For some reason, I've encountered onsale times at really inconvenient moments.  I recall having to pull over the side of the road a couple times on route to airports.

(Luckily I don't have pulmonary hypertension, but still looking into what it is)

IMG-20210521-WA0003.jpg.

It must be a "gathering of the tribes" kind of thing for a lot of people as much as anything else. The band doesn't hold my interest (except maybe Chimenti) and I'm not into crowds so there's no appeal for me, but I get that people love seeing old friends and the feeling they had in the old days, or as younger people thinking they're experiencing what used to be.

...also drugs

Drugs, too

>>>>What the fuck is a "rock star Richard?" LOL sounds like a run of the mill dick....

Woz you hit the nail on the head!

Google Rockstar Richard

It most definitely is the nostalgia for me. I'm looking forward to October.  I'm busy and looking forward to a break .

After a year plus in a pandemic, fuck yea were going out, is D&C my #1 option....no

My wife likes it ....so take what you can get

Throw some old favorites in there and get a lil high, I've done worse

Looks like TM's "dynamic pricing" based on supply/demand has kicked in. A friend was shut out while standing in line for on-sale AT the Hollywood Bowl box office.

IMG-20210521-WA0006.jpg

They sure have come a long way from 710!  Do they even remember their roots and the values they had back then!?  FUCK NO!!

Today it's just a bad Vegas money making act

Shame on them!

Karma's a bitch!

I dislike TM and all the rest as much as anyone else but it is what it is these days. GDTS is done and gone so how else does a large-scale, popular touring act ticket their fans?

Trick or Treat!

Screenshot_20210522-073307_Samsung Internet.jpg

Hollywood is exclusive.

Hollywood is fucking nuts.

I picked up a pair of lawn tix for Atlanta. 77 each after fees. Lakewood usually has a fun parking lot. I wonder what that will look like this time?

https://youtu.be/Jy_jbsq-D6g?t=63

The real question:  will they be able to complete what's already on their plate?

With no difficulty whatsoever

RockStar DICK - ABSOLUTE FUCKING POSEUR - i just googled him, ive seen him in the streams - seems like the kind of dude id knock the fuck out if he started shit with me when i was a youngun'....

holy custie
