That should be right.  I jumped on the stream during the Minglewood.  Thought they sounded pretty good, especially on Cassidy and Let It Grow.

I was sitting in the middle of 102 last night, tonight I'm listening to the stream.

What a difference being in front of those big league speakers makes.

Oteil is just a beast when you hear him in that way. He's the engine that drives that band, and is IMO what makes them work.

Which they do, BTW.

They're a good band.

Interesting commentary on tonight's Shoreline D&C show Bryen.

such boring setlists. bobby is pretty unoriginal.

"It's all a dream we dreamed one afternoon long ago"

That was fun! More impressive than last year at Shoreline. The energy was more upbeat, vocals sounded better and the versions of the songs were quite original. Groovy all around.

John Mayer is such a huge dork with his fashion choices, guessing he's going for ironic fashion with a fanny pack.  I mean, he's already wearing cargo shorts with plenty of pockets so it's not like it's a utility fanny pack. Or maybe he just is embracing his inner child and likes dressing like a 5 year old.

I loved Mayer's  playing and what he brought to the GD tunes, so yeah he can wear whatever the fuck he wants to. I'm just fearful that fans might start taking fashion tips from him..

My sense with John is he has become enlightened to the fact that it doesn't matter what you wear just as long as you are there, which is liberating :)

I enjoy wearing overly formal attire at shows, because I wear overly formal attire everyday, if I changed clothing to attend a Phil show I would feel disingenuous

Even with a tame looking setlist... good music well played under the circus tent last night...

Happy Independence Day.

Wow that was the most infuriating and sublime two nights of Dead music I have witnessed. That Casey Jones ender felt like a statement, any fool can play this music fast but I can slow it way the fuck down and still get you there, and in case there is any doubt it is a choice. This band can be so good, but I don't know if I'm ready to shuffle into the old folks home of easy listening dead music just yet. Fun party as always but not sure I can make it through those first sets.

First night had way more energy, John seemed to be in a beautiful place musically and otherwise, that needs to happen more frequently, but that's up to John...this thing is predicated on John getting better and better and better and better and better and better and better and better

...and better, which he most certainly is!

Days between.

I am a fan

I enjoyed the show. I really enjoyed the second set . I thought some of the song placement was interesting. They jammed everything out in the second set. A really interesting take on Althea I liked it a lot. First set picked up at Brown Eyed Women

John really owns Alabama Getaway

From my awesome couch squat I agree with you.  But  how lucky we are to have the band firing on all cylinders every few shows.  And the nights that perhaps are less stellar than others there are still some great renditions and jamming. Band seems to be far better this tour than any other and JM is pushing the bar higher and higher. With JM playing so motivated and enthusiastically its been fun.

I think the first night was better than the second.

Disclamer:  I was in the lower bowl the first night, I listened to the steam the second.

But even after watching the videos, the first night was better for me.

More jamming, more flowing, more cohesive.

Really fun.

Whatever, these guys are really good.

And I didn't think they would be.

Shocking I know.

Go to the show!
