Deadco sold out Camden

Forums:

Snoozed on tix and now they are sold out.  Any extra lawns are appreciated.  Please leave contact info.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love you, but this is the funniest thread ever.

There are lawn seats available.  Use your Jedi powers to get down front.

Fuck you wink  When did you see lawns available?

all those poor souls have to sit through the abomination

^^^LOL!  I just want to witness the carnage............

watch cashortrade

should be an easy street tix. with a little effort you will get in. those saturday shows have been selling pretty well

this tour.

This is  gonna be crazy, spoke to venue today about parking because I saw they were selling VIP parking for 90 bucks !!  She also said it is out of control as they just sold a round of lawn tics, majorly over selling the lawn, so she warned me to get there early like 3pm.....ughh !

Next time I give the nephew cash...;)

(((( Fitz, i will keep an open ear for ya )))).

My mistake Keith, the lawns I saw were "official resales" on LiveNation, $84 bucks which is double the regular price.

How desperate are you?  wink

I got in touch with Stephanie, she'll let me know if anything comes up.  And she could stub you into the Pavilion if you get a lawn.

Lynn, park over across the river and take the ferry.

Thom, I thought of that but i went on fb event page and folks said that the ferry was over crowded last year and went off schedule and some missed 45 min of show :( It is gonna be a beautiful Sunday they are saying, I am gonna blow off 2 graduation parties ( was trying to do it all ) and just go early. My nephew and I will walk the lot a bit and then go in, he wants to spend time with me and I'm going to do just that. I am really 20 mins to Camden if that !

He is a good kid who has been thru a lot with his health, so he does not go to big shows a lot, he works all the time. I am looking forward to spending time with him really...:)

Dead Co sold out way before Camden

^Nice!

Hah

If they are sold out and there are folks under 40 in attendance - there better be a whole lot of excuses.

>>>folks under 40

Don't trust anyone under 40

There will be a gaggle of 39yr old female deadheads in attendence.

Sounds like a plan Lynn, good for you for showing your nephew the ropes.  Have a great time.

Thanks Tom.  I'm sure something will materialize......

And I'll keep an eye for you Lyn smiley

Also looking for any extras. If you are selling please let me know thx.

Camden is the Red Rocks of Jersey...

^pnc is much better, if you are ok with a large nj State Police presence.

ck cashortrade 2 GA camden for sale

Keith, I'll e-mail you Stephanie's cell number, if you get a lawn ticket you can get in touch with her and she'll stub you in.

At least PNC has free parking.  $30 to park in the shithole of Camden IS criminal laugh

If I were attending,  I would look into the NJTRANSIT train called "River Line" and go from Bordentown NJ.

Price is liek, $2.00 each way and gets you to the Aquarium next door to Stadium.

Big question:  do the trains run back home after the show ??  I know they run late on FRI / SAT nights,  but schedule shows SUN as 'no late train'.

A phone call to NJTRANSIT would confirm/deny if they run late for concert nites.

But theoretically one could park a couple stops north of Camden and take the River Line to/from show.

njtransit.com/riverline

No late River Line trains (after 9 pm) Sun -> Fri, due to the tracks north of Camden being shared w/freight operations;  Due to the type & construction of the trolley cars (not up to full FRA railcar safety standards due to weight issues), they are not allowed to operate simaltaneously, so no freight whenever the River Line is in operation, & no River Line whenever freight is in operation.  This was all worked out when they built the system.  I think they do operate an after-show service from the venue to the Walter Reed Trans Center in the middle of Camden, so you can x-fer to the Lindenwald Line, which you'd have to take into Phila then x-fer to SEPTA Trenton line.  But not sure how late that runs, maybe not after 11 or midnight, which is probably too late.

Funny thing I discovered about PNC, after years & years of shows there, last time I went there (Further 2011 or 2012?), is that you must leave going back in the direction you came from.  I was headed from the Phila show, north to PNC, then wanted to go north back home to CT after the show, but the lots are divided by direction of arrival in the middle, and you must exit the way you came, then go a whole exit in the wrong direction to turn around.  Ridiculous, but I guess it works for 99% of attendees . . .

It would rather harsh one's Buzz to take the train there, and then be stranded in Camden all night.

I bet the comfortable shrubberies are all spoken for already.

Finding a comfortable shrubbery would be the least of your worries.

I remember back in 06 or 07 befriending a single woman from VA whose seat was next to mine who was kind of innocent about showgoing & such, she had driven up solo & didn't want to pay the $$$$ to park, so found a spot on a street in the nearby, um, neighborhood.  I, like the Knight in Shining Armor that I am, offered to escort her back to her car (which I was seriously wondering would even be there).  But lo & behold, we walked down this street of abandoned row houses, with many showgoing folks parked there, & her car was all there, wheels, tires, license plate, & all.  Miraculous.

Turns out she worked for the same consultant that contracted with the federal agency who oversaw our projects (Federal Transit Administration), & we both knew the guy who worked there & represented them & came to our meetings, who was a totally bloviated bullshit artist just like the boss in Office Space.  We had quite a few laughs about that.  He was complete with the initialed first name, then full middle name, then some WASP-y last name, full gold cufflinks, monogrammed starched shirts, tie bar, slicked back blonde hair, and he was an absolute Pro at being able to talk for 2 hours, sounding downright professional, using all the right buzzwords, but saying absolutely NOTHING of any use.  She said he was the same around the office.

Thing about Camden: it is often in the Top Ten for Murder Capital of USA cities,  competing with Detroit   & Newark and so forth.  They enjoy a high rate of crime across all types.  Many of the Camden cops quit or got laid-off a few years back,  something like 30 - 50%.  Maybe they've hired new ones, it was something about the budget.

But in the papers when they print the annual report for "Strongest Heroin"  Camden,  Philadelphia and Newark are the top three; Camden has taken first Prize many times.  That's based on lab analysis of Fed seizures.

Anyway,  the "Camden by Night" walking tour is not quite as romantic compared to Rome or Paris.

When I go to visit Lyn by train I transfer from the River Line to the Lindenwald Line @ that Walter Reed Trans Center in downtown Camden.  Wow, the folks hanging out around there are about THE most fucked-up-on-drugs peeps I've ever experienced in my life, including waiting online @ the Warfield on Market St in SF, or even here in Willimantic CT.  I've developed this motto from those experiences:  "Camden is Proof that White People Simply Cannot Handle Crack" (yes, not to sound like the Racist that I am, but the black folks seem to handle it with a kind of quiet dignity totally lacking in white crackheads, who just stumble into you & then try to take your wallet out of your pocket).

you must exit the way you came, then go a whole exit in the wrong direction to turn around<<

Not if you park in the lot that feeds right onto the N-bound pkwy.

Looking @ Google Earth right now, there's the circular driveway surrounding the whole site, that's the only paved connection across the park-like median running down the center splitting the lots.  Pretty sure they totally barricade that off for concerts so if you come from the south, you can only park in the lot(s) south of the median, which means the only way back to the GSP is under the bridge then south.  The overflow lot from the south is on the west side of the GSP, the overflow lot from the north is the one on the east side of the GSP, farther north, separated by a bunch of woods & a long narrow driveway, & I think that's only accessible coming from the north.

Best thing to do in my unique situation (if I had any clue beforehands) woulda been to double back on the GSP before the show so I approached from the direction I wanted to leave in.  Again, in all the years of seeing shows there, this has only happened to me once, in the unique situation of catching a show 'on the way home'.  Not a big deal, just a nerdy observation on my part . . .

^bob, I've entered southbound and have been forced to exit northbound. I've also entered northbound and have been forced to exit northbound. If you park in the lots adjacent to gsp south, you will be forced to exit onto southbound GSP. Same with the lots adjacent to gsp north, you must exit northbound.

It's all a baffling ordeal, my experience was that, I only encountered an issue when I wanted to continue on in the direction I was going when I arrived, & not go back to where I came from.  But I guess YMMV depending on the circumstances . . . but yeah I like PNC as a VENUE better than Camden, but the police/security presence is far & away more heavy handed.

anyone ever been to donkey's in camden?

awesome spot.

and i'd take camden over pnc. that place sucks. at least philly is not even 10

minutes away, boom, fun.

There's a main drag running down to the aquarium/concert area from the freeway that feeds right into the parking lot by the minor league ballpark under the BF Bridge. It's a relatively safe drive if you stay on it and you just head back up it to get back on the freeway.  Just don't get off that main road and you're fine.

I've parked by the minor league ballpark before - off the hook unrestricted Whippet vending but quite a hike from the venue . . .

Speaking of which, one of my priceless Camden memories:

Came back to my truck post show, these guys were vending whippets from an 80 pounder right off the hood of my truck - folks were pressing in, scratching the hood of my truck with their rings, indenting the sheetmetal with their elbows, etc, so I most politely asked the guys for what I would consider a very reasonable "Deal" so they could continue vending:  4 for $20.  Well these Fucktards just blew me off in the most condescending way.  So most coincidentally, I had to take a Racehorse level Piss, so of course I Whippeted it Out, & let loose a Racehorse level stream - right on their tank, right on the frost line - splashback all over them & their customers - well I never saw an 80 pounder carried away so fast it seemed completely weightless - & talk about dispersing a crowd quicker than yelling "Six Up!!!"

I worked at Cooper, saw it ALL !!

As for venue, I get there early pay the friggan 40 bucks to park in lot 1 and park in a designated handicap spot ( cause that is what I am now and I have accepted it :(  ). Not doing nearly the shows I used to because of it either. I don't drink so i am not a tailgater, I save my energy for those horrid steps to get to lawn. Gonna be a beautiful day they say this sunday, we shall see.

I also volunteered and took women in recovery that had no transport to meetings for a few years, some were in Camden !  If you EVER need to be humbled, go to an NA/AA meeting in Camden, it's as they say...for real, FOR REAL !!!

Back to topic.....any extra lawn's?

Still $86 on StubHub for a lawn.

This is actually a much more disturbing development than anything in our political realm.  The world IS coming to an end.

I had to chuckle at the above nitrous story. Being that Philadelphia is the Mecca of the N2O mafia (notice in the lot that all valves face Philly) Camden is one of the place they make serious bank. Same thing happens near Philly's Festival Pier. Last time P&F with Levon Helm played there, I had a hard time getting back to my car because the "mafia" had effectively closed off the street I had to walk to get to my car because "you look like a po-po." Even after I told them that if I was the police I would have busted their asses right there, I had to take a long walk around to the block to get to my car.

^haha. assholes eh.

good ol' philadelphia. love it.

Slacker, you can make anybody look good with the right lighting

They sold out long before Camden.

It's hard not to sell out, once you start thinking grand kids.   De Niro?

Living in South Philly,I've been to Multi-Named Center in Camden many times. We would take the back way off of Ferry Ave and just be freaked out by the blight.
It was like riding through one of those safari reserves. The rush of the fact that shit could go south at any moment has palpable.

One time, me and about 5 friends hung out late in the lot.The cops usually try to shuffle you along,so we were the last two cars in the lot.

We're wait for a cop car to come to us and sho' 'nuff here comes a car coming slowly towards us.

The cop was real cool, had his window down and it was sweltery at 12:30 AM.

He says to us, " Hey,just wanna give you a heads up...you can stay as long as you want ,but i'm the last officer here and I gotta go.I just wanna let you know

it's gonna get crazy in here once the neighbors see that we left. Have fun and be careful....."

So we think to ourselves how bad could it be ???    Well, the officer pulls out the gate and lo and behold,

about 15 to 20 Camdenites start climbing the 10' cyclone fence.Don't know what they were looking for,but packed up and left in minutes. They were quite zombie-like.

We did the Camden County Half-Step.....Toodle-oo !!!

>>>>>>> This is actually a much more disturbing development than anything in our political realm.

Um, No, Not as long as Jeff Sessions is AG . . . .

I need a $40 tkt please.

"I snoozed on Hipster Fest & I'm Pitiable"

Take a deep breath Sideshow.  Jeff Sessions is harmless compared to Eric "fast & Furious" Holder or Loretta "Tarmac" Lynch.

I might take the train down from Bordentown just to cruise the Shakedown for stickers & quaff a cold Beer.

It is $1.60 each way and the last train back leaves at 9 PM.  Even I can afford $3.20 for train fare.

Then again I might not bother.  The fellow with possible free tickets did not manifest.

Main purpose would be to ride that River Line train (never been) and explore the filthy Camden lot.  I forget if you can hear anything outside, probably because I've only ever been there with tickets.

We had a really fun show in Bristow on Thursday... A Good time had by all....

Glad to hear you made it to the show,  Mr. double Fa.

Nice seeing you at the DelFest last month,  WoW how time flies.

So I  never considered forking out $$ for deadco,  but  I just might spend 3 bucks for the train ride.

Always enjoy the scenery of Camden's burnt-out factories.

Thom - In the Words of Kurt Vonnegut:  WHY DON'T YOU TAKE A FLYING FUCK AT THE MOOOOONNNNNNN!!!!!!!!

The River Line train is kinda fun - like a trolley or an amusement park train, but a for real train.  I love where it goes right down the main street of a couple of the towns - Burlington is 1 I think?  Those Blighted towns have really started gentrifying in the few short years since I've been taking that train to Lyn's, possible because of the train?

I admit I just have not been able to justify the allocation of resources toward a deadco ticket, or even a 30 - dollar parking fee (Where does THAT money go ???)

But that is based upon the several live streams I've listened to.  If I had a bunch o' pals who(m) wanted to go and BBQ Oysters in the scenic Lot and quaff Ouzo all afternoon,  I would have arranged a ticket.  The music I've heard is not quite pulling me down the freeway.

My priorities have changed since adopting Hüsky.  If I bother driving anywhere, it's for work or dog recreation.

or DNB east coast tour

{{{DNB east coast tour}}}

Now DNB east coast tour is a whole other kettle of  Octopus...

I'll drive for themlaughheart

But deadco has the Huuuuge light-show,  so there's that.

<<<>>>Take a deep breath Sideshow.  Jeff Sessions is harmless compared to Eric "fast & Furious" Holder or Loretta "Tarmac" Lynch.

hahahahahahaaha

you can't make this shit up. classic.

What you can't make up is the amazing lack of concern your side had for the Obama administrations habit of completely ignoring laws that are on the books that it didn't like.  All Jeff Sessions is doing is enforcing the laws that are on the books.  You don't  like that, elect people that will change the laws.  That's how our system works.  Appointing people to high office who purposefully ignore laws that are passed by Congress because they don't agree with them is how Banana Republics operate, not Constitutional Representative Republics.

The problem with the contemporary progressive left is that they can't get elected to dog catcher in Podunk County.  I understand that you're upset about that, but that's simply a reflection of the voters rejecting your ideology.  And given the state of affairs of places traditionally run by Democrats (checked out the situation in Illinois lately?) who can blame them?

So laugh all you like.  Loser.  I imagine it's cold comfort.

>>>>You don't  like that, elect people that will change the laws

We did; overwhelmingly by popular vote.  Unfortunately a hostile nation interfered in our elections and effected the outcome.

>>>>>So laugh all you like.  Loser.

Said the fucking dork in the sweater vest.

Enjoy your 20 minutes before this administration turns out to be unarguably the worst ever.

>>>>>>The problem with the contemporary progressive left is that they can't get elected to dog catcher in Podunk County.

That's because Podunk County is full of cousin fuckers and sister fisters that always vote Republican.

>>>>>>>And given the state of affairs of places traditionally run by Democrats

How can America’s leaders foster broad prosperity? For most Republicans — including Donald J. Trump — the main answer is to “cut and extract”: Cut taxes and business regulations, including pesky restrictions on the extraction of natural resources, and the economy will boom.

Mr. Trump and House Speaker Paul Ryan are united by the conviction that cutting taxes — especially on corporations and the wealthy — is what drives growth.

A look at the states, however, suggests that they’re wrong. Red states dominated by Republicans embrace cut and extract. Blue states dominated by Democrats do much more to maintain their investments in education, infrastructure, urban quality of life and human services — investments typically financed through more progressive state and local taxes. And despite what you may have heard, blue states are generally doing better.

I scratch my head with comments like this one. IMO, one of the most brilliant compromises by our founding fathers was the set up of the House and Senate as to go against "mob" rule and assure some sort of fair sharing of power between the more populated states and less populated. Since that distribution of elected representatives dictates the Electoral College votes, they both rule in my mind. I disagree with how voting often goes but defend the system as brilliant.

oh thommy boy. side. lol.

i'm not a party before country, racist scumbag like yourself.

i will criticize the corporate dems, dems, republicans, bernie, obama, whomever deserves it in my eyes. but shit man, sessions is not a good human (i'm guessing like yourself....) i know you think otherwise. you also spout off every main stream media talking point the conservatives vomit out week in and week out, so no surprise you can't think for yourself when it comes to these repulsive "conservatives" that are control in DC. but whatever, trump is your man. you own that shit now (still embarrassed to say you voted for him/support his administration at every step of the way?)

Thom's just really Greatful he was in a Blue State when he had to be carried by security out of his $179 Loge seat @ the Cap due to overindulging in Edibles & Whisky & passing out.  He'da stood a good chance of losing his sweet Gov't gig in a Red state after they threw the "Zero Tolerance" book @ him, which is what Sessions is all about.

>>>>>>I scratch my head with comments like this one. I don't scratch my head over it.  The electoral college was set up to benefit slave states using the 3/5 of a person clause.

>>>I scratch my head with comments like this one.

Funny, because your response indicates that you didn't even read the comment.

Even the most brilliant system falls apart if it can be subverted through the manipulation of voter rolls. This has nothing to do with the Founder's intent. How could they have planned for cyber-security?

So what does al the political flapdoodlery have to do with Camden ??

Explain how the votes modify the 30 dollar parking fee and where that $$ go.

Is it going to the apolitical Parking Mafia or supporting helpful, friendly programs to teach inner-city Children to create renewable Urban Gardens ??

The Electoral College is complete & utter 19th century Bullshit.  President should be via popular vote ONLY.  Senate & supreme court already put multiple checks on "mob rule", no need for redundancy.  That's why we have the current situation with a tiny cadre of utterly Insane people leading our country based on the votes of a few thousand Senile old racist white people in the rust belt (like my parents).  Also makes for the inevitable months/years of "presidential election strategy by state" media frenzy Bullshit that we must endure every 4 years.  I'm SO sick & tired of media interviews with some Douchenozzle fat family living off Disability in a trailer in Ohio about who they think should be president.

Also makes our system so much more susceptible to hacking/election fraud as you only have to tweak a few thousand votes in a few select states to change the results.

So the electoral college  built the Beaming city of lights known as Camden, NJ ??

Place makes Newark look like Tulsa.

is disco stu complaining about a thread not staying on topic?

awesome.

Has anybody ever even met anyone who graduated from the Electoral College?

The whole things a scam, and always has been.

Who's got an extra lawn ticket?

Fitz, go to lot...you will get one :)  Good luck and see you there !

First timer at Camden tonight. Coming from Somerset, NJ (hotel there after last nights CitiField show).

Have read through thread about parking, etc. as well as other web based points (FB, BBT site, Trip Advisor, etc.)

Would people generally agree that driving in and parking is costly and a shit show with really not much in the way of options or strategic approach? Sounds like it will be a big crowd (every show I've been to since Fenway has been!). Also, quite hot.

Any final tips on coming in and the possibility of finding a place where you can tailgate without baking on hot asphalt, etc.?

Reasonable to expect that getting out will be an issue as well? (last night at Citifield, had to sit and just wait it out which was fine)

Haven't been there in ages,  but last time for a Phish show they actually parked us not in the main large gravel lot but in a smaller one a couple blocks from venue.  There were several locations similar and they let us tailgate, vend, hobnob and so forth. We even had a little picnic table and some lawn chairs.

I forget what the cost was, but not thirty Bucks !!

Also for MarkD --

If you're coming from Somerset, you might consider getting off the Turnpike and picking up I-295 south.  No tolls and usually less crowded.

waze tees us up to go down along the west side of the delaware river and crossing over from philly

Friend of mine just sent me this...

rsz_img_20170625_151624.jpg

Considered taking the River Line train down just to goof around the lot,  purchase a sticker,  drink a Beer.   But it is a nice day in the country, and there are Farm chores beckoning.  So no Camden for me.  Beautiful day for an outdoor show though.

If that train only had return trips after 9 PM I would have rode down and bought a ticket in the lot.  But alas, I'll have to find a stream and listen at home.

I'll just have to settle for a couple Phish shows at MSG next month.  I like Manhattan better than Camden anyway, and I can take the train there and return upon said train.  So that's much simpler.

Anyone heading to Phish MSG for July 21 (Friday) show let's have a Pint at the Gingerman pre-game, OK.  Probably head to the 7/22 (Saturday) also.

Last couple 5night citi was a real mess. People next to me didn't get in till set break. Really incompetent set up.

I like Manhattan better than Camden anyway<<

No kidding?

shoulda played the mann.

way better.

Anyone have a free Ustream or Periscope link?

>>>shoulda played the mann.

>>>way better.

Camden is owned by Live Nation I believe. Mann by City of Philadelphia

I've already begun to choose my venues wisely, for everything.

Yes I am discriminating! Yes, I'm looking at you Fenway.

Looks like they might have enough interest, and if they wanted to, just do it on their own, with venues they select.

They could get out of the "industry" tour thingy, as much as is possible of course.

And fix the gad awfull video direction. Geeeezus......

>>>shoulda played the mann.

The Mann is actually pretty small.  Would probably fit inside the Camden venue.

The Mann is a much better venue. And that's not even taking into account the fact that you don't have to go through Camden to get there.

But Dead$Co makes more $$$$$ in the larger venue.

Per Wikipedia:

Mann:  14,000, 4,500 indoor

BB&T:  25,500, 7,000 indoor

Could Billy possibly look less excited?

Betcha he's pretty excited about the Paycheck he's earning & knowing he'd not make 0.1% that much Scratch doing anything else.

Spike, just search deadco on periscope...there is a pro shot video up

First set anyway..but, its still there at break etc

Drummers were non entities last night.bobby was more a detriment than anything else yet it was a real good show. The other 3 guys are bringing it. But from what I've heard last night was the exception.

I blame it on Fenway.

Bad Vibes there.
