Warm--Jeff Tweedy, finally showed up and was waiting when we returned from B'way last night. Just  threw it on

Hey Knotesau, do you by any remote chance know who did the cover art for that Jesse Davis album you posted above? It's very reminiscent of some art I saw many, many years ago, and am wondering if it might be the same artist. I tried finding info online without much success. If you have that info handy or know it, I'd appreciate it if you would let me know. Thank you! :)

Yo Javs, I looked the title up on discogs where it often lists the concept designers and cover artists of album art, and that one is credited to Jesse Ed Davis II (Jesse Davis’s dad).

Also, studio band for that album is pretty stacked. Includes Gloria Jones on vox.

Wow, Ateix! Thanks so much, I'm gonna go check him out. Thank you!!! :)

>>4-winds would love your thoughts on Mac Miller-Swimming?

Overall, I like. Not a huge fan or anything but I've been listening to his catalog.

Favorite tracks- Swimming

3.  What's the Use? - good beat and funky featuring Thundercat and Snoop.

5.  Self Care -  "Self care, I'm treatin' me right, yeah, hell yeah, we gonna be alright" "I don't move my feet when I be gliding" "save me from myself yeah"  "September I fall"

7.  Ladders

12.  2009 - sad but I like the beat and lyrics.

Also like 1,2,9 (even though it's sad), 11

The rest are so-so fwiw.

Thanks 4-Winds. Not a huge fan, but a homer. Became interested after he passed. Its an album I can listen to from start to finish. I think there is some Rick Ruben influence in there. lyrics tell the story of his depression in my view.

Sounds about right on both counts and then the drugs.

He lived near Rick Rubin for a spell in 2015?  Read he was trying to help him detox and stay sober.
