That anecdote about the flight is some absolute classic Dead lore. Mickey is fucking crazy, Jerry's going on about some high-level cultural matters, no one is flying the plane, and yet everything works out fine.

And McNally used to come on the radio and scold heads who came to shows without tickets.

Very cool guy. He used to chat with folks in front rows, asking how they acquired their tix - and would get super pissed after confirming that local rackets would oftentimes scalp the 50% non mail order tix.

Kool Stuff,.......

Mucho Garcia ~!

I liked Long Strange Trip.

I read somewhere that he deliberately had a hand in Garcia dumping Manasha, arranging for some ex girlfriend to meet up with him or something. Hopefully I'm wrong, the idea of GD management manipulating Garcia's personal life grosses me out. I don't owe her anything, but he was on a health upswing while they were together and we all know how well his relationship with Koons turned out.

Definitely weird if McNally was involved in Jerry's dalliances that way, Dise, but if it went down like that, it was more likely tied to his relationship with Barbara Meier, which followed the end of his relationship with Manasha Matheson.

Nice interview , Quin...pretty interesting to listen to it now, and hear his thoughts on the "online community", sbds, and even politics, in 2009.

Dave. I don't recall reading if the arranged "bump in" lead to a LTR with Koons, but that it was designed to split Manasha and Jerry up when Jerry was at his healthiest in years, and had a little girl with Manasha..essentially breaking up a family. I dunno how long he was with BM, so you're more in the know there. I also read he made peace with Manasha years later, so it's not all bad, I guess.

I can't see Jerry listining 2 anyone about his dalliances.

Jerry may have had others clean up his messes, but be influenced by others opinions?

Jerry?  Seriously?

No....he went around Jerry, and arranged for an ex to reconnect with him because McNally didn't like Manasha around was the gist. Supposedly he apologized later to Manasha for it and they cool now. Just seems like a shitty thing to do if true.

Quin nice interview. Thanks for posting.
