Did GOP'ers wait until the bitter end to admit "defeat" re: Watergate?

Forums:

Either elected representatives or citizens?  If the worst comes to light re: Trump, will they STILL try to "hold on"?  Or will many people simply be reduced to "libs are so hypocritical blah blah blah ... double standard blah blah blah"?

Re:  elected officials, hopefully three will see the light and jump ship.

Tricky Dick at least had the sense to resign when he saw the writing on wall, for the good of the country.

This clown will most likely fight it to the bitter end.

This clown is a supreme narcissist. He can never admit he was wrong about anything. He will go to jail before he admits he was wrong.

He's going to resign soon and try to frame it as a win, saying he is returning to his glorious life of being a Billionaire without all of the oversight and that his agenda was thwarted by the Washington swamp.

He never really wanted a job this tough.

It was more about winning than actually being President.

Anyone with a brain back then knew the truth and knew what was coming, including most Republicans.

Anyone with a brain today would stop making ridiculous comparisons that are based on hope and not reality.  It's getting incredibly pathetic.

So Thom, you feel like Trump is representing your interests?

Anyone with a brain today would stop making ridiculous comparisons that are based on hope and not reality.  It's getting incredibly pathetic<<<

So firing the person in charge, in the midst of an investigation involving the POTUS shouldn't sound any "real" alarm bells for a reasonable person?

>>It's getting incredibly pathetic

Your defense of Trump? Yes, it is.

What he said was that people who have hope are pathetic and brainless, not that his defense of Trump was pathetic. Let's not twist words here.

Nixon's mistake was not the deed, it was the coverup.

Oh, wait...

It's a disservice to Nixon to compare him to trump. I believe Nixon cared about the country certainly was more knowledgeable and smarter.never thought I would be bestowing accolades on trickey dickey but there it is.

Eisenhower>Nixon>Reagan>Bush l>Bush II>Trump.

Agreed, Olhobo.  Trump's underlying conduct (unclear but looking like treason and/or a RICO violation like money laundering, as well as extensive conflicts of interest and sacrificing the good of the country and the planet for the enrichment of himself, his family, and the other oligarchs) also appears to be far worse than Nixon's (Watergate), separate and apart from the cover up, witness intimidation, and obstruction of justice.

>> Let's not twist words here.

I twisted no words. His defense of Trump is incredibly pathetic.

The good ole boys need him to pass their priority agenda, once complete, they'll be rolling over like rover to can El Presidente...

Thom, does nothing about the current situation cause you to wonder about potential criminal activity?

It's weird, you pretty consistently made allegations of criminal activity in regards to the Obama administration and Clinton, and for much, much less.

It leads me to believe that you're just a partisan hack.

My God, Trump admitted on national TV that he fired Comey because of the Russia investigation, and then he threatened Comey with potential "tapes" if he spoke out. Kushner's sister overtly offered favors to China.

Don't you get it? Shit like this has to transcend partisan politics.

>>It leads me to believe that you're just a partisan hack.

Leads you to believe? He has proven time and again that he is a partisan. His mind is about as open as the seal on the gas chamber was at Auschwitz.

I've held a romantic ideal that Thom is different than Seapup.

He is. Thom at least has a mind to keep closed. Seapup? I'm not even sure he has a functioning mind. Oh my!

Just so everyone knows, if Obama had fired the person in charge of investigating Hillary, I also would have had grave concerns. Obama also had that power.

Shit like this has to transcend partisan politics. <<<

One might hope, but I find it fascinating to see how does not - simply as a study of human nature / cognition.
