Yokayo Ranch Again?

Phun times there at the Grateful Easter weekend with DNB & MoonAlice in 2022...

Ooooh!  That was a fun place to camp!

Same weekend as STS9 @ Red Rocks but not like I'm holding tickets for anything beyond June right now, so adding this to my music calendar.

busy w/e.

DNB camp fest in Mendo > STS9

Navarro general store would be a cool throwback

^Ha but w/o the local meth-fest horseshoe tourney...

Lol.

See Everybody Soon Come !!!heart

sure was cold last year.

david: "uh i don't mean to complain, but its really cold"...

^^^ I was glad I brought my down sleeping bag and wool hat/gloves for sleeping!

Fortunately, that was April, this is July.

Hot tub and pool was fun too, even tho it was cold out.

Fingers crossed for Yokayo!

I'm not saying this is where DNB will play, but "Camp Navarro" is advertising music and camping events this summer.
Is this the same property as the Navarro General Store site?

I think it's down the road a piece, towards the ocean, turn right. Wendling rd maybe? Just going from memory here, it's been a minute. Camp Navarro might be/used to be the Boy Scout camp I think.

never heard of Neighbor though. Mother hips opening for them? Guess I've got to brush up a little

Camp Navarro is at 901 Masonite Industrial Rd., on the Navarro river.

about 3 miles from the store, as the crow flies

Camp Navarro already hosts Redwood Ramble during the July 22nd date indicated. Even if DNB were added to the bill, the Ramble is sold out completely since day one.

The corral at Navarro Store is overgrown and unused for some time. Would be cool if cleaned up. But, seems unlikely that Navarro Store would have a show the same weekend as the Ramble -- the venues are about a mile apart (which is very close up here in the country!).

So maybe Yokayo or somewhere else in the county. Casper? Black Oak Ranch?

Thanks, you are right about the Redwood Ramble. I never heard of that and it wasn't listed on the Camp Navarro site, so I thought that weekend was open.

Thank you!

everytime i think i'm out, they pull me back in

See Everybody Soon Come !!! High Adventure !!

"special ice tea"?

how special?

>>>everytime i think i'm out, they pull me back in

Is it the galettes?

I'd like to make the trip but would prefer not to camp.  Is this band still playing at a level that is worth a cross country trip?

Is this band still playing at a level that is worth a cross country trip?

as far as i can tell, everything except nelsons vocals are still pretty on point, and even then, the vocals are not bad or anything, just some songs seem to lack the power he sang them with in years past. not really a big deal imo.

Last time I saw them, it was a bit disappointing but that was David's first show I think after his return.

one more drink from the cup

life is good

well zang, check out some of the videos garyfish linked in the HI thread and you can get a taste.

it may not be what it was, but it still is waht it is...

i'll be at the bday show, but that is going to be more of a retrospective thing from what i gather.

ok in. just may be the last time....i dunno...

I'll be away during the Mendo camping shows, visiting family and old friends in far-northern New York State (Syracuse to Watertown) from mid-July to mid-August.

It'll be just my luck that the boys will pull out the Penumbra that I've been requesting for who-knows-how-long. :-(

Onward...

Fantasy West Coast tour :  Redwood Ramble nights 1&2 (July 20/21) > DNB July 22-23 > Blue Note Napa Fest July 28-30 > STS9 @ The Quarry Amphi in Santa Cruz, August 4-5.

I must be missing some.. Mother Hips maybe

^ > Jerry Day 8/5

hmm

Skipping Jerry Day in favor of fresh music:

On the fence for DNB due to work. Game time decision.

New fantasy plan for week of July 31:  Jazz is Dead 8/1+2 > STS9 night 1 and/ or > Under The Moon fest at Camp Navarro with Mother Hips and Neighbor and others.  Never been to Camp Navarro, sounds like a vacation.

Don't miss Achilles Wheel at Navarro.

Thanks for the tip, Mark!

I think I've seen them before and remember liking them.

Davids voice was strong, and he was on point 99%

see you Friday zooey!

go while we can - just my thoughts

inspired by jerry transitioning

It's just an ocean of dreams flooding over your cup
The big muddy river couldn't fill it up
And the most you can see looking out from inside
Is the edge of the wire on that great divide

Sometimes you just gotta leave all your winnings alone
And sometimes you better let the truth be known
And you better believe it like a house on fire
'Cause it's all part of life on the edge of the wire

And if the future has eyes that wait to gaze back at you
The tumbling dice can't wait to raise a confusion
It's heads they're winning, tails you're losing
So break out that can of kitty coom-botty ooooo (note 1)
Just to get in trouble on a Saturday night
When everything rides on the edge of the wire

There's only one way to pay for your ticket to ride
And one place to stay down by the water side
And the cold light of day has you paralysed in fright
As you wait for the night to catch up with you

You better keep it in mind walking through the wall of fire
It may not be best to cast away your desire
It's a steep incline, whether down or uphill
When all you got left is some time to kill

And if the future has eyes that wait to gaze back at you
The tumbling dice can't wait to raise a confusion
It's heads they're winning, tails you're losing
So break out that can of can of kitty coom-botty ooooo
Just to get in trouble on a Saturday night
When everything rides on the edge of the wire

bringing a cooler full of shade and fog from sf...

Was just reading the FAQ: There's a swimming pool and 1/2 bath available to all!

Given the hot temps, that just raised the value-to-price ratio.

Bought my pass.

Bringing a large sun shelter to share for camp living room

It's a Mojito-by-the-pool kinda weekend...

Zoner camp is in Oak Grove camp, just south of stage on main drive.

The venue has good feng shui.

freaking awesome

they played edge ( per my cup)

and fable  = end of second set = left to "rush" to Neil  in Napa = cried at all three shows fwiw  getting too old to see 7 shows in 7 days!! - soo much better than that johnmayer BS - but i went to al 3 = i felt it was my obligation

tired boy - food was great as were views AND DNB is DNb - FABULOUS and for you stoners there, they were trying to sell maryjane chicken sandwiches yesterday

Fantastic GRILLED Cheesed w veggies and bacon - - insane!

My camp neighbor ate one of those MJ sandwiches... they were cooked in ganja butter.

Reportedly she threw it up... it crushed her, poor thing.

What a fun fest!

Applause to Walstib for scoring the best campsite and saving me a spot ... much appreciated.

Good Zoner turnout given that there were fewer than 200 people there, including artists and crew!

So, chicken bongs?

gross

CHICKEN BONG Ws not there

no Masonic hall memories

What a grate photo!

The magic of that sunset and starry sky on night 1!

On the morning of night 2, I hiked to the summit of the property, AKA Eagle Camp... loved the views from up there.

Did not see an eagle but got in a little workout since the pool wasn't available.

still worth a 10 hr drive.

what an amazing piece of property under the oaks.

great vibes and crowd.

killer food.

1st day was too hot but other than that, nothing to complain about.

shows were really good, and yeah Sunday....little bit cooler and the hotter show.

no mosquitoes the 1st night, that 2nd sunset night, i got eaten. itching like crazy now.

the shows are up on the show reels on mixlr

they keep playing bitchen places and are still capable of liftoffs. what's a boy to do?

the reason i dont cut phil and bob much slack for failing to acheive liftoff as they get older is the david nelson band
