Let's start a rumor - then let's deny it

If we don't have a party there's gonna be a riot

Hahaha

0/5 fifths DNB...

A fifth of bourbon and a hetty soundboard?

Well hell

Have any oof you stayed @ the Benbow Inn? It truly is a special place.

It is said to be haunted much like the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park.

My wife & I stayed there for a long weekend about 5-8 years ago. There was no big event or Halloween, just rest with the Redwoods.

We heard the story about the haunting. There is one room where lots of things are said to happen, I can't remember which room it was but we didn''t get it. We stayed in a Petite Suite like those advertised by the band.

After a comfortable stay it was time for us to drive home to SF,

We packed our things & on the table by the bed I kept my phone charger. Except now I could not find it.

After a frustrating & exhausting search we could not find it.

We started carrying our stuff out & across the room, on the floor by the door. was my boots, When I picked them up I found the charger in the toe of one of them.

I do not know if it was the staff playing a trick or a poltergeist.

Either way it was fun,

Please don't be SCAREDY!!!

That ad still looks bogus to me. Nothing on the DNB site and al they are selling are packages for $750 to $1,000 for a band who's fans complain if the ticket costs $50........does not compute.

It's legit.  It's a benefit event for Help's On The Way. They promote, among other things, bluegrass being taught to children.  And the Benbow Inn is a special place snuggled into the NorCal redwoods.  Should be an excellent weekend.

I know the place and thought this was the same guy that booked gigs at the Mateel but also had a failed attempt at a DNB NYE show a few years ago back.

kids learning bluegrass can suck it i want an affordable DNB ticket

well, here's the thing....they are playing Le Vin in Mendo at the end of the month. So there are those shows. Go, it's RAD and you can camp right there.

The Benbow tix come with a room. Yeah it's not super "cheap" but actually  not that bad. Say the tix are $50 x 2 is $100 of the price. Depending on the room, there are some "cheaper" ones, if you break it down and do the math, no that bad. Hotels are not cheap. Where else are you gong to stay? That being said, I'm sure there will be people with extras. I'm sure its not that easy to promote and put on  the show all the while telling the hotel you will book it....

Never seen them myself, but know other Portlanders who have.

Update from my convo this morn w/ the local organizer of this event:

10 hotel rooms left.

There are also cabins that sleep 4-6 people at the Benbow KOA campground, which is next door and walking distance to venue.

There's another campground in the Benbow State Recreation Area, but it seems to be closed for the season.

Benbow Inn is supposedly riddled with spirits. It's going to get spooky! I've heard the restaurant there at Benbow Inn is quite nice for being in the boonies of the boonies. FWIW **Garberville locals can purchase tickets in town just for the shows for $50 each.

i'm bad at costumes.

I don't have a dog in this "fight" - but I do wanna say that the Benbow Inn is located in an incredible setting. The South Fork of the Eel River is literally steps away - it's a 5 minute walk from their parking lot. And you are also surrounded by majestic redwoods. It's a little pricey in some ways, but the space really is nice and the location is amazing. Stayed there a couple of times and loved it. So peaceful. (If you need something more edgy, Garberville is 10 mins away.)

Dise:  Boonies? Come to Oregon and I'll show you some boonie towns, LOL.

Turtle: Please don't choose to be an ICE agent for Halloween!

I'm intrigued by the ghost stories there, need to read the history.

I stayed there with the first Mr. judit and a couple of friends once a year for I think 3 years. It wasn't far from Loleta where I lived but it was a whole world away.

I never heard anything about ghosts.

how big is the ball room or wherever they will have music? can't be very large?

I lived in Oregon. Hahaha no spot taken!

I REALLY Miss Going To DNB shows.....................................................................

Depends on the weather Turts.  Might be outside.

These are shaping up to be epic shows. Wish I was going for the whole weekend, but life has other ideas.

Probably going Friday night. Not sure yet. But I'll be there one night.

"Deluxe Queen for 3 people, 2 Nights stay+6 Tickets

$877.26incl. $56.86 Fee

Sales end on Oct 31, 2025"

6 tix at 50 ea,  300.00  Subtract that from 877 and you get   577.    That is about 96.00 per night per person.   What is so outrages about that?

Gonna be a great weekend. I wish I was going for the whole thing, but have obligations at home. I will be there Friday night.

Looking forward to seeing you buddy.

For those of you that make the schlep, enoy!

Not going Woz?

No, it's far and I'm glad I didn't commit as I've been down with some nasty bug all week. But I will see yuo in Fairfax next weekend.

Hope you are well very soon, Woz.

Thanks Judit! On the mend but this was a pretty bad one...

waiting for the turts review :)

Nice set list

Nice, but not close to accurate.  I don't have the real setlist, but I think Gary has a copy and maybe he or someone else will post it.

But DAMN!! What a great show! Started off a little slow but quickly picked it up.  Really wish I was still there. So much fun.  And the place was packed!  Really good turnout for Help On The Way.

Saw this on FB.

Highlights for me were the Suite and RRB.

So happy I made the trip. Great to see the Zoner turnout.

This venue makes it easy to have a good show. Small, intimate event room w/ big patios on both sides, and bar behind the stage.

My window looked out to the big back patio and people were talking around the fire until very late, and pretty sure some crashed out there.

Highlights for me:

  • Wind & Rain
  • RRB
  • Suite at the Mission
  • Hearing Mason's Children for the first time.. jamming old-school 60s era GD and I really liked their audio mix.
  • Meeting Mookie's daughter this morn when she was trick or treating to all the rooms w/ another friend. I gave them stickers and pins. She told me that she plays piano, too. Tonight, the SoHum bluegrass kids from the Help's on the Way nonprofit program will open for DNB!

Back to my laptop work now until music begins again!

Credit the setlist to our Zooey.

^^^^heart to Zooey -- she also had the best comfy spot in the room!

That was incredible. What an experience. We had the run of the place. Stupid fun and I can't believe they let us do that. The lodge was gorgeous, as was the weather. The young kids played til like 2am both nights. What a scene. It was everything that you wanted.
I had afternoon tea and scones with Pete Sears.

I knew the turts review would be worth the wait! Glad you had a great time!

yessmileyyes..... dnb

Yes! glad everyone had a grate time!

it's high adventure music!

(((and remember it's not a good show unless everyone makes it home safe)))

Yes... the inn was the most tolerant venue ever!
