Some recent versions

Bastards. Who's got my password?

I need a 4 pod.  When do regular sales begin?

They are cancelling orders for non-matching emails and excess purchases.

Bastards

Don't worry, plenty of room for everyone.

OK. Can I do redo here?   I take back the bastards comments(they were tongue in cheek anyway).  Checked my mail and had the password. Not sure how as I have not bought a ticket to TXR all yr.  But am not complaining. All the decent 4 pods were gone already, so I got (2)2 pods. 5th row. I need to get up earlier.

Mark, were you holding tickets for the Nelson tribute to Hunter show scheduled for April 2020? Those who had tickets got the email. I got my two person dancing pod on the "floor" seats this morning! So, you purchase a new set of tickets and you get your others refunded.

Mark, don't buy more!

You are limited to one pod. They will cancel your orders.

Public on sale tomorrow at 9:00

I got a confirmation email.  Will they cancel that?

What's with the Cali residents only BS!?

Could it be wearing masks and getting vaccinated?

Just kidding (kind of)

Phil can travel to Nashville without a mask but bans out of State people from his place??

Maybe he's onto something and escaping.(just kidding sort of)

doc doolittle, the CA people only was explained as a State thing. Maybe Google it and let us know?

Well Judit as far as I know no other concerts in Cali are restricted to Cali residents!

Are Cali people immune to the covid?

Presale over and no cancelation yet.

Did you Google it? There's actual info out there.

This is from April 22, and it sounds like the rules were changed then. Before then there were restrictions.

Vaccinated tourists from out of state can again attend concerts, visit theme parks in California

Of course, since private venues can be more restrictive than the law, or may just be not keeping up with the changes, you'll have to ask TXR about it.

Congrats, MarkD.

Well, I would absolutely love to attend this show if anyone has an extra.  Fully vaccinated and I promise not to be an asshole.

Email in my profile.

If no extras, just enjoy the show, you lucky people!

Skud

try the public sale?

I like seeing your smile

For the dedicated maniacs there is a God

Will definitely give it a try.

No worries.

4-person pod tables still available on public sale --  find some table partners and giddyup!

Got my tix.  See you there...

Still there two mins ago

Yeah, still available.

I never got a cancelation notice so I guess I'm good.

Soon Come !!heartyes

A good friend read my plea and invited me to join him.

Looking forward to more good times with him, some of you maniacs, and, of course, the band!

Looking for An Extra Ticket!

If you can't find a ticket I would suggest just heading to the show. There are still tables of four available so maybe they'll split them up the day of? I'm sure someone will have an extra ticket at the gate - worst case,  you listen from shakedown Street just outside the gate.

Good advice, Nancy, thanks.

Roarshock is fully vaccinated by the way. I feel like a superman!

dickyb, it's always so nice to see you around here.

I had to go to the Days Between Facebook page to figure out who JMF is. If anyone else doesn't know, it's Jerry's Middle Finger.

If anyone has an extra, I'm thinking about driving up on Sunday.

^^^ Get a Zoner into the show!

Will be smiles and confidence tomorrow after 2 pm.

Dead Flowers. I would like to hear that tune.

Make that Sunday after 2 pm!

Don't get ahead of the time Roarshock!

I am still ticketless, but have been encouraged by a few zoners to go to the show, and was reminded by another friend that Sunday shows should not be missed. It's hard to argue with logic like that, so I'm making a wing and a prayer trip, and looking forward to meeting some of you freaks at the clubhouse tomorrow.

I'm excited for you folks.  Wonder if Roger Mc can afford to float another DNB/Moonalice E. Coast excursion.

You shake the short change from your old fruit jar.

Cool Mike. Hope we can meet up. I will keep an ear out for an extra.

Yay!  See some of you tomorrow!

Zoner Jam ultra-early pre-func conference in lot.

Look for the old black Volvo wagon.

Don't forget your camp chair!

What's the policy for the lot? Can you pre-game/mingle B4 show? Set break safety meetings in the lot?

Nelson-Time...

I don't think TXR has hosted any 2 set shows during Covid rules, maybe starting next week?

I'm guessing today will be one set, and mingling preshow shouldn't be an issue, worst case the mingling gets moved to the Shakedown area just outside the entry gate.

Looking forward to meeting some fine folks and enjoying some fine music!

Yeah, if I had to guess it will be one set. Mask rules will be enforced for sure. Pretty much a free for all on the street.

Thanks for the info

perhaps one set will help to ease me back into the concert scene...

Excited for you folks. Have a GREAT time!!!!!!!    Good Zone vibes! So good to see.

Forecast is sunny and 72° at showtime.  smiley

Thanks for taking care of Mike, LLTD!

Just made it home safely... could barely see the GG bridge due to the fog...

good times and a good Zoner turnout!
can't wait for the Melvin non-pod weekend...
it was fun to hang in the lot, smiles all around.

Folks were certain to have a good time.

A few photos too much to hope for?

Alright. A normal San Francisco summer evening.

Some things don't change.

Far out.

On Another topic I know someone

Looking for someone that would like a table for four at the early  CHAPEL show on Thursday

It was my pleasure Dise

If I was able to post pictures on this website

i may have given it a try Mr. heathen

Happy birthday, David Nelson. A truly amazing day in the park. I'll just post some pics for now.

Yeah, I don't know why it is that everyone always tries to be the next Jim Marshall, I used to do that too, but especially at this point we all know what the musicians look like.

I was hoping for some shots of you folks, enjoying yourselves.

You know..... us.

Still, it looks like a nice afternoon in Phil's little park.

BTW, no disrespect to Mike for the nice shots of the old dudes rockin'.

It's good to see any dudes rockin' these days.

And at least Mike knows how to post a photo.

D'oh!

Suite At The Mission

Lyrics: Robert Hunter
Music: David Nelson

A Hunter/Nelson song first played by the New Riders of the Purple Sage in 2009, and then also by the David Nelson Band. Thanks to Eugene Baran for help with the lyrics.

We both know this light is ugly
We both know that time is money
We both know that a naked bulb
Can only be so friendly

And since it shines in both our eyes
Don't try to act too wise
'Cause it's too bright for visions now
Mystical or otherwise

I got a suite at the mission
And I lived to tell
Got a suite at the mission
And I hope you do as well
Got a suite at the mission
It's much cleaner than hell
Got a suite at the mission
And I lived to tell

Across the two-lane black tar (note 1)
Lies the end of the world
There's guns in every window
With trigger fingers curled

And I've been walking, smoking
He's got some skin disease
Makes him break out in tattoos
Every time I sneeze

Got a suite at the mission
And I lived to tell
Got a suite at the mission
And I hope you do as well
Got a suite at the mission
It's much cleaner than hell
Got a suite at the mission
And I lived to tell

Stand by me till I bolt
This final Irish coffee, then
Then I'm out into the cold
No, you won't see me again

But listen for my voices
The ones that never die
Well you just can't avoid them
No, it's senseless to try

I got a suite at the mission
And I lived to tell
Got a suite at the mission
And I hope you do as well
Got a suite at the mission
It's much cleaner than hell
Got a suite at the mission
And I lived to tell

I got a suite at the mission
And I lived to tell

...  ...  KICK IN THE HEAD!

Well there were lots of Zoner convos happening but photo sessions ?   Nah....and that's how I like it!

Set list or it didn't happen

^^^^ Good point Lance!

I was so happy to reunite and engage with the Dedicated Maniacs and Denizens of TXR, that it didn't even occur to me to pull out my phone and take pics.

So good to "share the air" and catch up with dear friends.  And very nice to meet Mike in person (even if it was only for a few precious minutes).  I even had a chance to show off Kai's summit of Mt. Shasta with the always busy Peakfifteen!  Then the "treat lady" offered me rice crispy treats and mini candy bars.  I was back home.

The music was fantastic, the weather beautiful, and the staff smiling and friendly.  Lots of "pod hopscotch" was allowed (within reason) and the staff went right to work pulling up the tape rectangles as soon as the music ended.

Here's to more good times ahead!

What a good idea that was! Beautiful afternoon to be out with other folks in the sun listening to a great band, and Mr Nelson singing the words of Our Bard (who is dearly missed).

I saw some of you Zoners milling about, plus a lot of other old freaks and adorably precious baby hippies.

Fingers crossed the plague is really in our rearview mirror with lots of music and dance in our future. Terrapin Crossroads has been open almost a decade now, and it is established, venerable, and sure a cool little clubhouse. Plan to be back again and again ... !

I am glad I recalled and heeded the wise words of our friend Lance Newberry.

Go to the show.

Yesterday, was a big day of firsts for me. First time visiting TXR. First time seeing DNB (the last time I saw Nelson play was with NRPS back in 1980 in a community college gymnasium in Lawrence, MA, I think it was). First live music for me in almost two years. And, it my first time meeting a bunch of very cool zoners.

I need to thank LLOLLO for encouraging me to make the trip. "The group spirit will get you in" she said, and she was right. That's exactly what happened.

I also need to say a huge thank you to LLTD for getting me in with his extra ticket, and for graciously sharing his 2-person pod with me, and for being so cool about it when I danced all over his margarita.

It was also good meeting Pete, WALSTIB, Nancy, Jack of Hearts, Garyfish, Mark D, and Johnny D, and to reconnect with Tahoe Andy, Paul Wozniak, and Zooey. Before yesterday, I had only met a handful of zoners in person, and I'm looking forward to seeing folks again once things open up more. As cool as the scene was yesterday, it felt just a little cramped not being able to mingle freely.

As for the music, in a word it was stellar. I hadn't planned to dance much due to the arthritis in my hips flaring up after the five hour drive, but once the music started, I couldn't stop boogying. The band played a two hour plus set, and I was pretty much in motion the whole time. I also need to thank LLTD once again for reminding me (twice, I think) about Pigpen's old advice about taking your hands out of your pockets.

I wish I had a setlist, but again, DNB is new to me, so I was only familiar with a few of the songs. Nelson mentioned near the end of the show that the songs selected for the show were all collaborations he did with Robert Hunter. Maybe that's why the day just felt so right to me, but as I read back over what I've written here, I can't honestly say that's the only reason.

Go to the show. Live music is back, and I can't wait to share some more big fun with folks in the not too distant future.

So glad you all made it - TXR, music and friends - life as it should be. I do love a vibrating pleasure-giving organism.

This "memory" came up on my Facebook today from a Grate Room show:

June 14, 2015  ·

Shared with Your friends

The David Nelson Band was so good! The sound was great, the floor and the bench I hung out on pounded and thumped with Pete Sears' bass and they were all so good! It wasn't just Sless, or Mookie, or Molo, or Pete or Nelson, it was a moving vibrating pleasure-giving organism.

Setlist

nice set, thnx.

how'd the new dude do?

Very happy for you Mike and for us

I guess you don't have to post Setlist I just emailed you Zooey took care of that assignment

And yes Pigpen is always right!

mmmmmm 451

The new dude did well fitting in pretty seamlessly

I didn't pay that much attention to him and he didn't quite exude as much personality as white cloud molo might have but then we're very connected to that man

He did OK. Pretty good for most of the 2 shows. Some insightful zoner mentioned Coconut Wireless was to be the most challenging for him and he was correct. I really missed Molo on that song on Saturday, but overall he did a fine job. A few times I missed the power of the Mtn.  They are completely different drummers. Leone is more of a "fill" guy. Molo is power and drive.

Glad You Made The Trip Mike !

Big shock, it sounds like multiple whoops were had.

Over the years, it's been my personal experience with DNB that the best part of their shows is the great comradery of the fans and the natural, festive party that always ensues.

And I get it that no one was much interested or thinking about snapping random photos, I just selfishly love to see "the scene" at shows I didn't attend.

One of things I appreciate most about our own pro photographer Sushi is that she always makes sure to get a few shots of the entire room to give a feel for the event, and doesn't just get completely consumed with the endless pursuit of the closeup, or what I call the "nosehair shot", something virtually all photographers, both amateur and professional can get lost with.

Anyway, I'm glad you all had fun, I'm sorry to have missed the chance to meet Mike, and I look forward to getting back at it soon. I broke down and bought a ticket for one of the upcoming non-pod Melvin shows. A bit pricey for Melvin, but I haven't spent much dough in the past year & a half and have been really missing the clubhouse in particular, so I consider it money well spent.

It looks like we're back.

Far out.

Some serious wisdom at that show. Combined ages of the band and attendees must be close to a million.

Zoners alone in the thousands.

Niiiiiiiiiiiice to see so many of you elders having so much fun, seriously.

Lance a little harsh on Mike for taking pics of the band at his first DNB show don't ya think. I appreciate them Mike. But I admit that I like pics of the peeps freaking more. Like YT videos are always focused on the band but I would prefer the camera showing the fans shaking their booties. At GD shows at least.

OK Lance, you get the one and only picture I have on my phone. Taken by Guillermo, the original busboy! DND 6.13.21.jpg

Bocce pods look chill.

>>>Lance a little harsh on Mike for taking pics of the band<<<

Yeah, I realized that after I posted it. It was late and I was feeling kind of crappy, but I did go back and try to make up for it, which is all any imperfect person can do.

And thata' boy Peak! That's what I'm talkin' about! Looking good my man!

See you soon.

GTTS!!!

Both shows this weekend were fantastic! It's got me loooking for a spot at a table at the Chspel LOL!

I didn't have a problem with your comment, Lance, although I was a bit miffed you didn't notice I photochopped all the nose hairs out.

Woz. I know of an extra table for four early show

snd maybe a two top for late show

... ... KICK IN THE HEAD.....

I had such a great time at this show!  I forgot how much I've missed seeing shows, and my first DNB show in ~5 years was just what I needed!  The band was a little rusty in places, but that may be a result of dusting off some Hunter nuggets that don't get played too much (Eagle Breeder's Waltz in particular seemed a little tough for David).  There were great jams and meltdowns in all the right places though, and each player got their chance to shine.  What a little slice of heaven that was!

Great to see the DNB tribe out boogeying again; I got to meet Mike, and see plenty of familiar faces, though it seems I missed seeing a few folks who were there.  I hope this band keeps adding shows so I can catch them again soon!

>>>I photochopped all the nose hairs out<<<

ALL of them? Damn, that must have taken you some time.

Good effort.

Both shows were grand! i may be in for the placerville gig. not sure yet.

Saturday's show went by so fast because it was so small and intimate-truly magic.

Sunday's show was all Hunter tunes, which was also fantastic...

great to see all of you, and i really now appreciate the logic of a set break. without the set break there's not enough socializing.

A buddy of mine shot video on Sunday, and I'm uploading it to YT now. I should have a link to post later this evening, or first thing tomorrow.

And Lance, the video should satisfy your cravings for crowd shots, nosehairs and all.

Remember when you could freak freely at a show without worrying that it would show up on social media? ;)

"I was so happy to reunite and engage with the Dedicated Maniacs and Denizens of TXR, that it didn't even occur to me to pull out my phone and take pics."

This.

KICK IN THE HEAD!

oh look who got a show! :)
