Do you love Root Vegetables

Forums:

This meal is fit for members of the mile-high club.

A Qantas business flier en route from Sydney to Brisbane got an eyeful when a flight attendant delivered her afternoon snack of six dumplings and something very phallic.

Neither her tray table nor her side dish was in the upright position — but the mysterious shriveled veggie took food porn to new heights.

Slacker digs it. Now is the time to post your collection.

I'm afraid this might offend certain Zoners.

Right Gravy, Slacker will immediately save that pic then proceed to troll someone with it for a good few weeks.

I make delicious root vegetable soups by roasting them (with rosemary sprigs), then putting them in the blender with chicken or veggie stock. I usually include beets, carrots, parsnips, onions, garlic, minimal potatoes, yams, turnips. It's amazing how none of the flavors get lost, even in the blended soup. I usually serve it with a bowl of creme fraiche so people can serve themselves.

That sounds yummy, judit, especially in these dark days of winter.

Grabbed some turnips a few nights ago and was trying to go through the self serve line thing, they called them purple topped turnips???? Called the lady over to help me and she put in rutabagas and the machine knew it was wrong???, i had to redo it after i found purple topped turnips, then it was all good.

Beets and turnips are my favorites.

Rutaba-ga !

Daikon is my favorite.

beast likes dark penises

I love daikon kim chi. Cabbage, too, but sometimes I get just daikon.

I cooked some beets and carrots a couple days ago. Love the flavor that beets add.  Also I'm a big fan of carrot and beet juice.

Root veggies pureed with a can of tomato paste, herbs and seasoning is a great base to braise short ribs on.  Put the puree at the bottom of the pan, stack meat on top of it and add liquid(I use a white wine/soy sauce mix.

But yeah that's a funky looking plate of food up there.

Boil your beets then blend with equal part watermelon.

Dollop of sour cream and finely diced scallions.

Yep.

Have you tasted that, aiq?

Call any vegetable, call it by name and the chances are good...

...that the vegetable will respond to you! cheeky

Had a really nice celery root and leek soup last night. Just sauted with olive oil, a little thyme and few marjoram leaves, then boiled / simmered with stock and blended it up to a nice puree. Yum!
