Track 6 is one of my all time favorites.

Yes. Prob my fav kind of music there is.

If you don’t sing along with the line “quiting just ain’t my schtick”, then I prob have no understanding of what you could be as a person.

Yes, I love Curtis Mayfield, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Gladys Knight, Aretha Franklin, Al Greene Otis Redding, The Temptations,  Smokey Robinson and too many others to list.

I grew up watching Soul Train more than American Bandstand. Although I watched both - my better memories are of Soul Train. Both shows were hosted by DCs I just realized - Dick Clark and Don Cornelius. Cant believe I never made that connection before.

Soul music propels a lot of dancing and sex. Good stuff in my book White music is full of copy cats and clunky self-indulgence by comparison.

White soul musicians aren't copying anything?

Whole lotta copying in soul music too - in most kinds of music art.

There aren't many white soul musicians, and there are different levels of copying from tribute to pure thievery .

Of course when speaking in generalities - there are always exceptions..

"Indiana Wants Me" is a song written, composed, and originally recorded by Canadian singer-songwriter R. Dean Taylor. It was released on the Rare Earth label, a subsidiary of Motown Records

Death is a rock band formed in Detroit, Michigan in 1971 by brothers Bobby (bass, vocals), David (guitar), and Dannis (drums) Hackney. ... The band broke up by 1977 but reformed in 2009 when the Drag City label released their 70s demos for the first time.
