That would be incorrect. A quick glance at the website calendar shows that since September until the end of the year Phil will have headlined 23 various shows at TxR, and I'm not counting the storytelling deals, and other than the three "year" shows at $79 there were two shows at $65 - at one you also got dinner and the other was an 8-hour show that included a long free show the night before. All the rest were either free, $25, $30 and a couple at $45. So 18 of the 23 Phil shows were less than $50, and most were $25 or less.

I'm not shillin' for TxR, I'm just keepin' it real.

And the Gofundme thing has always seemed odd to me as well, unless one is up against something truly major. I probably would never do one of those myself, but then if people offer me money I never refuse.

But if people are using something like that and also spending dough on lots of shows that would raise a serious question to me.

I do wonder who you're talking about, but then I figure it really wouldn't be that cool to post it.

Daily, I see people at many stop lights asking for handouts.  Some of them have tattoos, expensive (to me) clothing, etc.  I think to myself, "If they needed money, why did they to (this) and (that)..."  I bet that you see the same, in 3D and on the internet.

I don't have a good answer, but I know that people have their desires and their needs.  Their strengths and their weaknesses.  It's easy for me to judge others, but I don't have the whole story.

I think that you have a valid point.  It's worth a discussion.  And there will always be people who think that they are goofing around, but often hit a nerve in one person or another.  What's interesting is that Timmy and Chris ended up fighting each other, when the thread wasn't about them at all.

I have a brother who is one year younger than me.  We generally got along, but sometimes our goofing around got out of hand.  More than once it escalated until we were both completely out of control.

The solution?  When one kid threw his shoe at another, we both knew that it was over.  And yes, we were probably about 7 and 6 years old, respectively...

I just donated $600. They can thank me next time we see each other at the shows.

What I have as a vision is of the rough-and-tumble living organism of the Philzone without the unrelenting mean-spiritedness present in a few posters whose repetitive poking is what makes the Zone unable to sustain a broad base of participants. This is the same vision that lava and HeyDavey have, and what many, many others have relayed to me as what's important to them and will make it feel like their home. I'm not talking bland or sanitized, nor necessarily positive, and I certainly don't have to agree with everyone. Strong, passionately held opinions can be expressed in any number of ways; "disagreeable" opinions as well. I don't have to be mean to be snarky or sarcastic, or to tell you what I know or feel, I can be kind and strong and just as passionate. We don't have to agree, and we don't even have to like each other, though you and I do, to create community.

The email that OG posted had nothing to with that thread and had in fact been written 2 or 3 days before I sent it to him. I held onto it to see what his posting would become before sending it. It was simply an email to tell him that his posts poking at people were not compatible with the spirit of Viva la Zone. He is not on time out and he's not banned.
