"don't monkey this up"

Forums:

The crucial mid-term elections will soon be upon us.

Any predictions?   Any tight races in your neck of the woods you are campaigning for or are closely watching?

>Any predictions?

Your thread title won't be the last example of overt racism we see from the GOP

I haven't given it much thought, but I'm curious to see how the CA Senate race between two Democrats (Diane Feinstein vs. Kevin de Leon) goes.

Not sure how I feel about this one right now.

I'm pretty sure that my representative Barbara Lee will be reelected.

monkey man is a nozzle. cant believe it wasnt intentional racism.

Watching closely the VA 7th District race between GOP Dave Brat, who beat out Eric Cantor a few years back, and Democrat Abigail Spanberger. Last report was that it's a "toss up" at this point.

Other than that, Tim Kaine's opponent is a Trump clone who hopefully will get his ass kicked figuratively and literally.

I believe that Tom MacArthur(r) will defeat Andy Kim(d) in NJ 3rd congressional district

Unfortunately, I fear "monkey man" (meaning that douche de santis)will prevail.  I just don't see Florida doing the right thing here.  Check out homies ad....

I've already contributed to Gillum's campaign and am thinking to get more involved..... its such an opportunity for us to go from worst to first when it comes to electing.  Unfortunately, we may need about 10 more years for the Greatest Generation to fade out of the social lexicon.

Just finished "How Democracies Die":

It's a great read / listen and extremely relevant to our current state of affairs pertaining to politics and the steady erosion of "soft guardrails" and norms that have allowed our gov to function without a complete breakdown.   However, one of the central claims in the book is how racial exclusion has been a key dynamic in the electoral landscape since the end of the Civil War.

"In the handbook of Donald Trump, they no longer do whistle calls — they're now using full bullhorns," Gillum said. "I'm not going to get down in the gutter with DeSantis and Trump, there's enough of that going on, I'm going to try to stay high."

Democracy is no where near dead. I see this all as the healthy workings of all the voices of Democracy. It's glorious from the historical view. Don't forget, even our conservatives are essentially democratic, rather than aristocratic. Democracy dead? Don't believe it.

Can I post Dog - Poop fotos over in "politics folder" ?

Don't have any now,  but could get some.  That Dogg poops every day.

All the political Krap is offensive to us sensitive people who prefer "Other Stuff".

The "politics folder" is just for you Trump - Monkeys and that sort of low-minded nonsense.

"Oh Hey,  Kushner had another Nosebleed !!"  Wow, groovy.  I'll search for that in 'Politics Folder'.

Stu, you are not forced to read or participate in any thread.

Feel free to post fecal photos.

I will choose to ignore those particular threads.

Lumber,

You missed the point of my dialogue.  I do not wish to post or see other's posts of Political poop.

That's why the "Politics Folder" exists... for Political fiends to regurgitate opinions which the Media told them.

Like-minded individuals can share their Political rants & raves there without pooping up the "Other Stuff" landscape.

However,  I hope that your Hounds are Well and Healthy.

Other stuff is anything, Stu, and always has been.

Folders bleed over into each other.

Try to stop it.

Stu, i didn't misunderstand you,  i just disagree.

There are multiple threads in which i no interest.

There are even some which i find distasteful.

I ignore them.

I understand that there is a political folder, but OS is where the people are.

The girls are good, been limiting their time outdoors because of the heat. I imagine that the heat has been tough on H.I.M.

Mr. Floops,

I appreciate your insight,  as always.

If I were to post photos of the Roadside Hemp forest in Ohio,  that would go in "Cannabis Folder".

Now,  if I was a Politics nerd,  common courtesy or etiquette would  dictate posting that stuff in 'Politics Folder'.

Personally I have no heroes or villains in the Television Politics Game.

They are all absolute Scum.  It's really not a matter of lesser or greater Scum.

Then why don't you post your Asbury Park music threads in the music folder?

Then why don't you post your Asbury Park music threads in the music folder? "

You have a valid question there,  I suppose.
Why do you pester me on this particular topic ?
Are you upset that I don't support Trump or Mao or Pol Pot or Idi Amin ??

Are you a Richard Millhouse Nixon fan,  or more of a Stalin type ?

How about the current Myanmar government,  should we have Parades for them ?

Anyway,  Stalin and Idi Amin are probably still Dead.

But when I post "Asbury Park Music Thread"  it's usually not about the Musical content,  more about logistics and the Food consumed.
Tonight for "New Kingston Express"  I had a Tuna Melt w/ Cheddar,  and the Dog had a few French Fries.  We enjoyed our Snacks a whole bunch.  The other Dogs at the Bar were Beagle / Border Collie cross-breeds,  about eight years old. They were Nice Doggies :)

I believe Ziggy Marley also played at the Stone Pony outdoor series.  I'm pretty certain that happened.  Ran into the Roadies for those guys at the WaWa on the way home.  That's a place where you get Fuel & Snacks,  here in Jerseyland.

Take it to the Pets and Food Folder, Stu.

With all due respect, Stu, you're lucky that the don't constrain you to your own folder, then.

People who live and glass houses and all that jazz.

>cant believe it wasnt intentional racism

.>>"In the handbook of Donald Trump, they no longer do whistle calls — they're now using full bullhorns," Gillum said.

No more or less racist  than using the N-Word, and Trump supporters really don't care anymore.

Racism isn't  Racism?

>MOST DONALD TRUMP VOTERS DON’T THINK USING THE N-WORD IS RACIST, OR EVEN OFFENSIVE, NEW POLL INDICATES

Stu really doesn't care..

"...lucky that the don't constrain..."

And this is the type of English Grammar lessons that wealthy Japanese tourists pay Mr. Floops the Big Euros for in the Dutch Highlands.

"My Hovercraft is full of Eels, Bouncy - Bouncy !! "

I'm just kidding,  but actually it has stopped raining,  and I have to run the Tractor now.

Perhaps it is healthy to shock ourselves out of complacency; however, we seem to have found ourselves upon a precipice .... and on the other side, it's no longer about "conservatives" vs. "liberals" ... it's not ideology but a system that's been warped, exploited, and rigged to serve special interests at the expense of the many.    The further we go down that hole, the more difficult it will be to correct.

>>>>>even our conservatives are essentially democratic, rather than aristocratic

I think they're neither. Kleptocratic maybe.

Many of the current crop of Reps.want to limit voting and gerrymander voting districts. Doesn't sound very democratic.

Calling this statement out as racist makes all Dems look stupid. It swings independent voters towards him not away from him. It wasn't anywhere near a dog whistle or bullhorn and any of that crap. There's plenty to criticize this guy about but this is not it.

^It was overtly racist.

The dog whistle was when Desantis referred to  Gillum as an "articulate spokesman."

I didn't see or hear that. I checked in with a little Morning Mika today and they were making a big deal about his refusal to apologize for the "monkey up" comment.
