Dead Net Central?

Music lineup is weak.  Billy Eilish and the Chicks (fka Dixie Chicks).

Eva Longoria tonight. Is that the best they can do?

I'm sure Ted Nugent, Chode Rock and Clint Eastwood are chomping at the bit. Bwahahaaaa

don't forget Kanye...

Bernie will be speaking tonight...

> Dead Net Central?

I miss internetting with rh.

Damn Goosebumps already

An "invocation"?!?

Yah, that prayer was inappropriate, in my opinion. Slow start, too.

1st half hour felt very "produced" ... not organic.

Prine =  Nice

I can hear Cheeto saying " Do we still got Scott Bao "?

Klobuchar is cringed as fuck. Ugh

Bernies got Wood

I'm digging Bernie's stacked wood backdrop, with the American and Vermont flags. It's a nice juxtaposition.

Bernie's wood is kiln dried.

Does Disco Stu offer kiln dried wood?

Mr_timpane on Monday, August 17, 2020 – 03:38 pm

Bernie is trash. What's your point? He's just an old shell of what he used to be. Just another politician who is full of shit.

I missed the invocation.... did they make an acknowledgement of who originally occupied the land ?

I'm glad Youtube is making Bernie Sander's speech available. I'm working to maintain hope and what he said provided some. Jeeeeez, we need help. I also listened to Michelle Obama's speech; her emphasis on empathy really worked for me.

Did anyone else think that Bernie looked different on camera?
... like younger and healthier, off the campaign trail..

The first hour was a bit rocky, the 2nd hour was very well done IMHO

Bernie fully on the Biden train. Have the bernie bro's revolted yet? hahaha lol

>>> Did anyone else think that Bernie looked different on camera?

Had time to get on the Trump "perfect hair" train...

remember

obama put kids in cages, just like trump.

The wooden logs behind him was a cool backdrop.
Perhaps if there was a fan on the side, it would have messed his hair up a lbit.

That would have created a more 'natural' look.

He did give a strong & genuine speech.

trump bad x 500

BLM.

nothing about policy.

jr what you don't understand is the left doesn't vote for party, like you -- we vote for policy. bernie can yell biden/harris all he wants -- doesn't matter.

if biden endorses m4a and support for a gnd, he'd be in a much better position now, instead he's tied w/ trump the polls say.

wild.

Absolutely brutal although I must admit I turned it off pretty quickly as my eyes started to bleed.

Defeating Trump should be one the biggest layups in history but the current Dem party can't get out of their own way. Everything comes across as pandering algorithm, delivered with the insulting sheen of Benetton advertising.

6 months ago I assumed Biden would absolutely roll over Trump in a landslide victory. That confidence is waning.

The Dems are truly evil. Trying to promote the party with the death of George Floyd just so they can turn round and nail the poor block community once again when they get elected. Big time finding coming for the cops

timpane's comedy tour - coming soon

biden wants at least 300mil more in federal funds for police.

Biden does not want to legalize cannabis. Who do you think that effects the most

, sixey? It will continue the injustice against poor black communities and put more young black men behind bars for non violent crimes.

republicans should be happy if biden wins.

I didn't watch it last night, but I'm glad bernie did the right thing.

Live political conventions with 20,000 folks in an auditorium were (also) 4 the most part boring.
This election is not about left vs right or left vs center.

it's about right vs wrong.

^^lol that means nothing.

and you weren't trying to do the right thing when bernie was running.

isn't it wrong to double down on not supporting m4a, even during a pandemic, when 30mil americans lost their employee based health insurance. seems wrong.

Bernie supports Joe.

i guess that's not good enough 4 some.

^hahahahaha

theres no blind following my man, not even for good ol' bernie.

the dems still don't understand this.

incredible.

policy. not party.

So the Don's policies R better?

>>> ^^lol that means nothing. <<<

we've been through this dawg, time to move on...

all this flouncing your doing, isn't helping move the needle at all.

Oops

Duplicate post

cool

thod still creeping on my business instagram.

fuck you, thod.

you're a piece of shit.

wtf are you talking about?

how am I stalking you?

dude, your paranoid af.

time to step away from the black screen

you've hit another level of unhinged, smh.

you're trash, thod.

fuck you.

you accuse me of stalking your business

and you can't tell me how I'm doing it.

but, I'm fucking trash?

not only do you sound paranoid,

you sound straight up crazy.

so, fuck you

i already explained how when you started doing it months ago.

pretty sad form of trolling.

fucking loser.

oh you did huh?

I know one thing, your good at generalizing bullshit

based in crazy.

once again with no factual evidence.

dude, if you want people to check your shit out

just post it here for fuck sake's.

don't try to gaslight me for views...

it's pathetic, unbecoming, and flat out squidville.

OKGB, you make a mockery of progressivism with your outrage on a Phil Leah message board.  If you want to do something truly progressive, you'll need to try a little harder.   Your tantrums here are a sad excuse for activism.  Big hat, no cattle.

A lot of people who cry themselves to death over other people views and opinions on this thread.

Cannabis will remain a schedule one narcotic for the next four years regardless of who wins. It's a win either way for the prison systems. Kamala bout to help her friends out with some Government spending for the justice system. Guess you get what you ask for you old burnouts.

Cannabis is a strawman, and your focus on it makes you the burnout.

I don't smoke weed. Legalization means a lot more than just you being able to sit around smoking bong in your pajamas surfing the web all day. It's directly connected with racial injustice and poor young black men being put behind bars for nonviolent offenses.

I'm on another extended hiatus, with no cannabis use since February.  I'm neither here nor there with it.

Equitable education and job opportunities are more salient issues.

Legalization of all drug use (not just cannabis), and managing them as a physical and mental health issue is the argument to be made.

Michelle Obama showed once again what kind of class act she is along with Bernie putting his ego aside and addressing the existential threat to all of us if Trump gets another 4 years.

Bat shit crazy,  very sad

i do hope your recovery goes well

the first step is to ...

Same shit, different thread.

Best tweet from last night was from the Lincoln Project.

We go low so you don't have to.

it is what it is

(((centrist zone)))

((((          ))))

hahahahaha

theres no blind following my man, not even for good ol' bernie.

the dems still don't understand this.

incredible.

policy. not party. )))))))))))))))))

So then what you going to do? Vote for The current Failure In Chief ? That your deal?

the bernie boys know better than all of us.

how come they didn't make life better during the previous 16 yrs in power?

"nothing would fundamentally change"

Jesus, who cares anymore? Vote, don't vote, write in a candidate. Nobody is changing minds here.

January will be fun. If Biden wins, the Dems will be blamed for all sorts of shit. If Trump wins, it will be the Dem's fault.

Lets hope the Progressives can put up a great candidate in 24 and 28, one that can win the nomination. It will then be on that person to win and then fix everything overnight. As a bonus, we won't have to hear this "centrist" BS anymore.

I'm more on the fence now than I was before in my thinking that Biden could potentially generate some interesting change. I'm on the fence because Kamala could be a genuine progressive signal, or just a flare, a distraction to draw in that crowd. The support of Bernie and AOC makes me think they have all had discussions backstage, and that Bernie's and AOC's roles in a potential future government could maybe be prominent. If Bernie got an important cabinet position, Interior or some such, now THAT would be a true signal of a progressive direction. My suspicion is that Ol' Joe will keep steering in the classic direction of his party, but all these signals make me more open-minded about him than before when the Susan Rice option was floated.

Hi bk remember when joe said he would consider a republican VP?

that is literally the dictionary definition of "centrist" BS.

Ill admit though, reading through 200 posts of bullshit for/against Susan Rice sure was exhilarating. I'm quite proud the zone got that one all sorted out.

I don't remember what Joe said, and nor does he.

>>>how come they didn't make life better during the previous 16 yrs in power?

Because the presidency is one third of the power and after he barely passed a weak health insurance plan that gave 27 million people insurance who didn't previously have it the dems lost both the Senate and the House for the next six years based on lies spread by Fox news and apathy from the left who couldn't be bothered to vote in mid term elections.

Trust me there is no one more progressive when it comes to "policy" on this board than me. But this is the reality and I find it helpful to live in reality

Massachusetts: "Which do you identify more with, the Democratic party of Obama and Biden or the Democratic party of new progressive figures like AOC?" Biden/Obama: 72% AOC: 17%

That is fucking Massachusetts. I hear a lot about how us "centrists" are to stupid to understand anything, but what have all the Bernie people, who now understand progressive politics better than Bernie does, actually done to change the above dynamic. How many doors have you knocked on? How many phone calls have you made? How many times have you been out in the street marching?

It really isn't complicated It's a choice between fascism and Biden, and voting for anyone but Biden is complicit in promoting fascism. If you can't understand that you aren't paying attention.

((( It's a choice between fascism and Biden, and voting for anyone but Biden is complicit in promoting fascism. )))

Bubba tonight.

Black/White tautologies are a usually a sign that something is wrong. If you're trapped in that either/or thinking, I politely suggest that you are wrong.

Trump has to go, as there's no way to "fix" anything in his administration...  he's fucking nuts!

Biden "might" be fixable, but I never thought I'd prefer the corporatist BS

Go Biden (cough)

It's like when people say "if you don't vote, you can't complain", but when you subject it to logic, you realize it makes no sense. Like, voting doesn't give me a right to complain! Being alive and having a voice and a brain does. I can use my speech apparatus how I damn well see fit. Even in a totalitarian state you can make that choice, even when people limit it for you with violence. Existing gives me a right to express myself. Not voting for some weird human invented B.elief S.ystem.

Jav, continue to speak, complain, I have no problem with people complaining whether they vote or not. Of course you have a right to let us know what your opinions are.

>>> Black/White tautologies are a usually a sign that something is wrong. If you're trapped in that either/or thinking, I politely suggest that you are wrong.  <<<

Something is wrong. Very wrong, but it's not that I (we) think it's either/or, it's that as things are dismantled, protections removed, people cast aside on the streets, the only way to change the trajectory is to have others proposing change. I can see Biden/Harris working with the progressives in Congress (both Houses) to make meaningful and real changes, to create help that matters. And the idea that because Biden/Harris, or the DNC (in whom I have little faith as a body), aren't radicals, they won't start the necessary work to help people and land/air/water in need is without merit. The current occupant is shitting on all of us (not just in the US) - we need to wipe it off, clean up, and move forward. Yeah, metaphors are a dime a dozen, but I just made that one up and it suits my needs.

Excited to see Dr. Jill Biden tonight. Without knowing her, she seems like a very nice woman.

<<<>>>((( It's a choice between fascism and Biden, and voting for anyone but Biden is complicit in promoting fascism. )))

dems put children in cages.

now what?

>>> dems put children in cages.

now what?  <<<

Broad swath there. I'm registered as a Democrat - isn't it our job as citizens to work to sway the decision makers away from such horrific policies as quickly as possible? - we can make a difference.

dems won't support m4a during a pandemic -- 30mil people lost their health insurance b/c it is recklessly tied to their employer.

now what?

We have a two-party system, by design. It is, for better or worse, a choice between A or B.  We haven't had a viable third party candidate in years.  I voted for Nader years ago, but I live in California and knew that Gore would carry the state, so it was a meaningless "protest" vote.  However, if you live in a swing state and don't vote for Biden, then you would, arguably and in my opinion, be complicit  if Trump carries your state.

We don't have the luxury now to not vote for the non-fascist candidate, Biden, regardless of how corporate/institutional he and his party is.

There isn't a litmus or acid test or required checklist for being "progressive."

Vote for the 'lesser of two evils," if that's what you consider Biden/Democrats, and then continue to work to move the party to the left.  Ridding ourselves of the fascist is imperative first.

>>>  Ridding ourselves of the fascist is imperative first. <<<

Yes.

>>> dems won't support m4a during a pandemic -- 30mil people lost their health insurance b/c it is recklessly tied to their employer.

now what?  <<<

I don't know if you're asking or simply trolling, but I'll play.

What do you see as the next move/step from where we are now?

It seems to me that electing Biden/Harris gives us a much better chance of creating a coalition of Reps/Senators who will make this a priority.

>>>dems put children in cages.

Can we please put this stupid ass talking point to rest. Just yesterday Former MAGA DHS Chief of Staff Miles Taylor who was in the room with Trump said that Trump wanted a "deliberate policy of ripping children from parents in order to deter families from coming to the border."

Here is how Obama and Bush before him handled it.

“Previous administrations used family detention facilities, allowing the whole family to stay together while awaiting their deportation case in immigration court, or alternatives to detention, which required families to be tracked but released from custody to await their court date,” Brown and her co-author, Tim O’Shea, wrote in an explainer piece for the Bipartisan Policy Center’s website. “Some children may have been separated from the adults they entered with, in cases where the family relationship could not be established, child trafficking was suspected, or there were not sufficient family detention facilities available. … However, the zero-tolerance policy is the first time that a policy resulting in separation is being applied across the board.”

Jeh Johnson, DHS secretary under the Obama administration, told NPR earlier this month that he couldn’t say that family separations “never happened” during his tenure. “There may have been some exigent situation, some emergency. There may have been some doubt about whether the adult accompanying the child was in fact the parent of the child. I can’t say it never happened but not as a matter of policy or practice. It’s not something that I could ask our Border Patrol or our immigration enforcement personnel to do,” Johnson said.

Jimmy Carter tonight!

jesus, judit.

if you question you're trolling? fucking christ.

my point is the dems do the same shit as the gop -- in fact, the dems legitimize the gop's evils.

Racket, he's speaking tonight. Get with the schedule, please.

Are you a Trump voter? Have you posted pics of your guy with his various conquests?

when trump does it, bad.

when dems do it, justify.

Let's see if carter drops any bombs tonight

pyramidheat, that's not where I'm coming from at all and I would think you would know that. There are times I can't tell who's sincere or who's trolling me, so I check in rather than assume.

So what do we do to create change, given what we've got? I'm seriously asking you.

No Judit, I did not vote for Trump.

The DNC putting billy boy onstage is foolish.

judit, you've been on tilt lately.  Better get to that wine and AC, stat.

do people dislike the clintons?

I don't drink very often, but when I do it's fun. AC more often would be good.

I agree that Bill Clinton doesn't provide the look the Convention should be going for. I thought he was kind of done, but I guess not.

of course he's not done -- people like jr love him lol. he's old grandpa dem, followed by obama -- the perfect neoliberals to keep the status quo going, the gop happy, the people down, the rich richer than ever, and racist policy prolonged.

it's very obvious.

I installed central air recently.  Best investment ever!

I didn't think Bill Clinton was bad at the time, and I didn't really care one way or the other about Ms. Lewinsky, but he seems creepy to me now.

I would vote for him against Trump for sure. I'd vote for a very wide array of people against Trump.

"I support Joe Biden for the presidency of the United States"

former Republican Secretary of State Colin Powell

Bill Clinton lmao. Dems might just be trying to throw the election to avoid the blame for the next four years. 12 mil still out of work? Good luck to whoever claims that prize.

bill clinton frequented jeffrey epstein's "rape island". fact.

I get that you fellows see the Republicans and Democrats as virtually the same. That's fine. Once in a while, can you please show the Republicans the same level of hate as you do the Democrats? If anything, it would be a nice symbolic gesture.

fuck the republicans.

fuck trump.

fuck mcconnell and his turkey ass neck.

fuck his shitty wife.

and fuck thom.

fuck lindsay graham that self hating mother fucker.

fuck em all.

Thanks! Can we now join hands and sing Kumba-ya?

yes. but only while tripping on acid.

I feel almost refreshed by that, pyramidheat. ❤️

And  >> bill clinton frequented jeffrey epstein's "rape island" <<<  is mostly why I find him creepy.

Republicans are trash. Dems are trash. They're all trash eating money whores. Politicians are the lowest level of scum that we have in the USA

Some argue that Bill Clinton was the first black president. Remember the sax on Arsenio... Now what?

But a career politician Bernie Sanders will save us all?

New photos emerged of Bill getting a massage from a 14 year old Epstein rape accuser. Hillary must be desensitized by now, or a super secret closer lesbian like Eleanor Roosevelt.

See twitter link above JR....

So Timpane, or anyone else, what can we do now? Like for real. Where can our creativity take us?

Oregon has an amazing and active (D) senator, Jeff Merkley, who is doing the right things for all of us.

The Baltimore race is getting heated.  Ruthless ad.

https://youtu.be/VoEuCOfjTYQ

Straight savage.

Maybe we should all dose on election night, and do a big Zoom sing a long.

Dosing on election night?
Many believe the results of the vote may take a few days. Or weeks.

Can we stay dosed for a couple of weeks?
if things don't go well, can we check into the Mars Hotel?

Election night plans. Interesting notions 'bout party favors.
An' it's bigger than a drive-in movie, ooooo-eeee.
Bigger than a drive-in movie, ooooo-eeee.

"I support Joe Biden for the presidency of the United States"

former Republican Secretary of State Colin Powell

of course he does -- he's a fellow scumbag, but also republican.

makes sense.

I fell in love with Jill Biden tonight. What a wonderful woman and damn she was hot when younger. Another great night for America.

Colin Powell Lol. Are Dems pushing that endorsement as a compliment?

Racket Timmy (dumbass handle, btw), no there is no knight in shining armor coming to save anyone. Bernie in the end just proved he is just another politician.

Couldn't tell you where we could go from here, Judit. I believe honesty is a good start as we live in a world of lies and deceit

Colin would love to back a republican but the Orange shitbag can't wipe his own ass.
KaBlam!

What we can and should do is not be fooled by looking for political solutions.  Keep an eye on the politicians, yes, but don't expect them to do much more than what's in their natures, to politicize.  The real work is up to each and every one of us to imagine and create better communities.  Find something that brings positive change and cultivate that.

>>>>>Racket Timmy (dumbass handle, btw)

Reading comprehension, dude - it's "Racket in my head.".

^racket Timmy my nickname for him

Our Friends at MSNBC seemed to be having a good time last night.

Tonight Is The BOMB SHELL Night ~ Later Trump. DNC3

So what do you think of Joy Reid's new do, JR?

it's taken a long time for joy to finally find her style and fully come into herself. big fan.

hillary looked very pale tonight.

horrible humans above.

joy hates homosexuals -- do you as well, jr?

I would bet that JR hates assholes

even Zoner assholes

 Bless your little heart

I'm above that childish fray and hate, but thanks for thinking of me, LLTD.  Bernie bros are irrelevant now, and they show it every day, so i pay no mind.

All I have to say is god damn, what a fantastic night last night.  Obama brought me to emotional places that I have never been during a speech. He brought me high, low, sad, angry and hopeful. Amazing.

Gabby Giffords was also wonderful. So touching.

I was bummed to miss her, Dave. Cross our fingers her husband beats that skank Martha McSalley in November.

"Who we gunna get to fill Bannons spot?!?
How about the My Pillow guy!?!"  -Cheeto

We can see them on Youtube, I hope. I've seen a couple of the speeches on Youtube that I wanted to see and will catch up as I can. (No, not the My Pillow Guy)

everyone has invisaligns

We can expect another night of flawlessly executed  tv production, poetic speeches with weaving poetic narratives, heart breaking stories from regular americans; filled with moments of inspiration and hope.

Steph Curry to drop some 3's vs Cheetos team tonight!

good trouble

So if elected Biden would get in at 78... Is everyone just accepting he is a one term President? Guy would be 82 after his first term lol

age only mattered when bernie was leading. thod was foaming at the mouth over that shit, lol.

lltd still claims "all lives matter". little racist bitch.

anyway, jr is king asshole, we all know this -- we can't ignore his pz past.

but his posts about the dnc and dems in general is funny.

you guys still on the fence to vote for uncle joe and mamala?

"racist bitch" -- lol from the mouth of the batshit crazy "pyramid of hate" completely deranged one

insults are us - lashey outey

Yes,  I do believe that all lives matter - that is correct - in your peanut that equates to black lives matter being diminished - well ok if that's how you need to roll #you be you (it is what it is bro) you are what you are

take a vacation

breathe

seek help

or enjoy being miserable ( refute that at will - its just psychobabble after all)

lols

I just scanned through Biden's acceptance speech, watching about 1/3 of it. In the 8 minutes I watched, I though he did a really good job. It was well-spoken, heartfelt, and powerful at times.

Good God, I hope that, come January, Trump becomes nothing more than an asterisk in the annals of history.

Don't drop any RNC next week that shit will fuck you up

Echoing once again the flawless production of the 4 day event. It's going to be virtually impossible for the RNC to meet those standards and beat.  I am expecting an embarrassing shit show this coming week, full of the most dirty content we've ever seen.

Here's some quotes from a good article I read on huffpost yesterday (please, spare me the attack on the source, if you would like to discuss the arguments, please do):

https://www.huffpost.com/entry/joe-biden-democratic-party-barack-obama_n...

Joe Biden Is The Nominee, But The Democratic Party Belongs To Barack Obama

"It was a speech devoid of big ideas, and also devoid of small ideas, like most of the four-day event preceding it. Biden does indeed seem like a nice guy. But almost nowhere did anyone talk about what Biden and Harris might actually do with power. Nothing of substance on climate change, nor on inequality, nor on corruption or war or even how to deal with the myriad effects of the mismanaged pandemic, beyond testing and masks."

"But Obama’s national biography is decidedly out of tune with left-wing intellectual discourse, in which the stated ideals of the Declaration of Independence and the Bill of Rights are whitewash for a legacy of horror ― from slavery to the incarceration of Japanese Americans in the Second World War to the 2 million civilians killed in the Vietnam War to the invasion of Iraq.

Obama’s rosier version of events also elides more mainstream critiques of American neoliberalism, a history in which Democrats and Republicans have joined hands since the late 1970s in an economic project that stripped wealth from the American middle class and delivered it to the wealthy and well-connected."

"Like all narratives from politicians, Obama’s story is self-serving. He suggests that his administration failed to overcome important obstacles, but elides those it created of its own accord. Obama oversaw a foreclosure program that threw struggling homeowners to Wall Street’s wolves, deported more immigrants than any president in history, ignored an opioid crisis that took millions of lives, droned a wedding, bombarded a Doctors Without Borders hospital and repeatedly protected American torturers. For the Democratic Party faithful, the Obama years remain the good old days, but a great many lost faith along the way. "

Basically, the Dems are voting for a big, fat nothing burger. Your party is offering you nothing and you are voting for it because it's not Trump.

I think that JR repeatedly pointing out to the production value of the DNC is the key to understanding the Dem mentality: You are convinced that a good show of nifty lighting and catchy music, along with fancy rhetoric and appeals to your emotion, you are convinced that all this is equal to them being interested in your well being. If the Dems win (highly doubtful) and when the Dems continue to separate the rich from the poor, continue to fund wars, continue to give breaks to the corporations, no one who voted for them will be able to complain because they offered you nothing except "not-Trump", and you gladly accepted it.

Bread and circus, JR. Study your history...

Bears repeating:

FOR THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY FAITHFUL, THE OBAMA YEARS REMAIN THE GOOD OLD DAYS, BUT A GREAT MANY LOST THEIR FAITH ALONG THE WAY.

You know what the republicans have that the dems don't? Clarity. They may be evil, but they're not trying to act like they're for the environment, or for the poor or for women. The dems keep on trying to front like they are making their moral hypocrisy more and more evident over time. I may yet be wrong, but I get the feeling the Dem party is setting themselves up for a massive loss.

ax7E8Kb_460s.jpg

"A steady stream of entertainment..."

4 days of people telling you absolutely nothing concrete. Four days of people telling you to be afraid of Trump. Four days of people telling you they are the decent and good ones who really, honestly, truly care about you. And from what I can tell on here, most people bought it hook, line and sinker. You don't need arguments, you don't need policies - all you need is a good bit of heart-wrenching Americana emotional appeal and you're sold.

Like I said before, the land of Britney Spears and McDonalds. Not that anywhere else is any better. It's the human condition. You all just like to go around bragging about how you're number 1 and you know, conquering the world and stuff, so it's just a little more evident.

I don't pay any attention to such things. Symbolism ain't my bag. Trump sucks. I'm voting for the other guy. He's a bit better. No illusions there.

> You all just like to go around bragging about how you're number 1 and you know, conquering the world and stuff

You had a pretty solid argument going there until you overshot with this gross generalization.

>>> You had a pretty solid argument going there until you overshot with this gross generalization. <<<

he does that.

his rhetoric is pretty disingenuous.

Trumper supporters disrespecting Obama.  Saying the dems R a bunch of big fat nothing burgers.

Coming up next week; the republican convention.  I'm looking forward to the socialist argument that the Don will protect the USA from Brittney Spears.

That the Don offers clarity.  Perhaps some understanding of the clarity that the Don offers would help.  Except that might require some rational thought.

As long as the Don continues his noble quest to protect our nation against Brittney and stopping the dems from taking over the world, MAGA will continue.

With the Zoner Don camp posting comics and song videos.  An' it's bigger than a drive-in movie, ooooo-eeee.

The Democratic Party is clearly at a point in history where it's trying to find itself. The Republican Party also is. Neither have "clarity." The Republican Party has been hijacked by the fringe far Right. The Democrats seem to have forgotten the poor.

So fucking what. Trump is a threat to everything.

What's your point, Javs? Are you trying to convince people not to vote for Biden, or why their vote for Biden is wrong, or just trying to sound smarter and more woke than everyone else? Whichever it is, it isn't working.

QAnon is offering clarity.  They know that the world is run by a cabal of Satan-worshiping pedophiles who are plotting against the Don while operating a global

child sex-trafficking ring.  Many also believe that in addition to molesting children, members of this group kill and eat their victims in order to extract a life-extending

chemical from their blood.

QAnon reached a new milestone last week when Marjorie Taylor Greene, an avowed QAnon supporter from Georgia, won a Republican primary in a heavily conservative district,

setting her up for a near-certain election to Congress in November. After Ms. Greene’s win, Mr. Trump called her a “future Republican star.”

Decency and kindness R a political ploy, used by dems to hoodwink the people.  The Don would never perform such a diabolical dastardly deed.

Isn't Jav just expressing his opinions, his observations? I don't see that as trying to convince people, so maybe I'm missing something. Isn't that what the political "discussons" here are? Zoners post their thoughts and observations, no one's vote changes. pyramidheat said he wasn't trying to convince anyone to vote for Bernie.
Nothing different now.

The idea of voting for Trump or his supporters makes me want to throw up. The idea of not voting for Biden in this election makes me feel the same way.

>>> Isn't Jav just expressing his opinions, his observations? <<<

yep, ad naseum.

>>> pyramidheat said he wasn't trying to convince anyone to vote for Bernie.

you must've missed the whole do the right thing or you're holding the country back part.

oh, and all the other shaming.

I don't think I missed it. People think they have a lot to give, over and over and over. Maybe it's only shaming if you let it be?

The repetitive nature of what some Zoners have to offer is tiring, but the way it wears me down doesn't influence my thinking. Nor most of ours, I'd guess.

I don't understand what they get out of it, but it must be something that matters to them.

There are people who think that if you don't agree with them after they explain something to you, you don't understand it. My son was one of those. He'd explain and explain and tell us we didn't understand. We'd say it back to him so he could see that we did understand, but didn't agree, and he'd do it again.

People expressing their opinions are what political discussion is all about.  As to whether anyone is convincing anyone else of anything here, uh well uh...

Is it safe to believe that 95% of voters have already made up their mind?  The next question being how many people will vote.

Some believe that there is no difference between Joe and the Don.  Or that in the end the results will be the same.

The validity of that argument can be discussed.  Inherent in that belief is a deep cynicism about our nation.

Political discussion with ideologues? Ha ha!

As it's constant, and there is no discussion because he has deemed himself "right," it's really just lectures, condescension and rhetorical questions.

When someone constantly tells you that you are wrong, that you're part of the problem, that you are complicit, etc, there is no discussion. When they then go on to make gross and negative generalizations based on nationality, again, there is no discussion.

Plenty of people here have said that they are voting for Biden because Trump has to go. A few people have constantly bludgeoned them for it. That is a fact.

Javs  lol  once again ....perhaps you are lost also   A focused lost, but lost none the less

 >>don't understand what you get out of it, but it must be something that matters to you

ad nauseam.   Btw:  Where  is you optimism ?

The DNC convention went off without a hitch; and while stark at some times, never punched below the belt. A breath of fresh air and inspiration that any decent person with common sense would get behind.

voting against dump, but 5 days ago when I saw this thread title, I was hopeful DNC was a new psychedelic. :-(

You've somehow missed the reason (that most of us have expressed multiple times) that we support Biden:

We despise the orange shitgibbon and his GOP enablers, and we think Biden is the best bet to get the shitgibbon out of office.

Is it that hard to understand?

biden's platform of gun control will not go over well in the swing states.

my friend says its almost like the dems want to lose.

>>Is it that hard to understand?

When one sees Biden and Trump as the same, it's impossible for that person to understand. As he's stated, the best choice is not to vote at all, and the second best choice is for Trump to win, so that there could be some sort of revolution.

As I said earlier, there's no discussion with ideologues.

Only a little more than two months left before every one can StFU about this subject and talk about something else.

Feel free to bring some new and compelling content, Timpy. Maybe we can talk more about your expertise on masks? The Duke study clearly showed, with data and color photos, that virtually all masks stop the spread of airborne particulates, except for fleece, bandanas and neck gaiters. Would you like to refute the data and conclusions?

Do you have a link? Just because a cloth mask stops "some" airborne particles, that means nothing. If a mask isn't rated by NIOSH then you have no idea what the particle amount and/or the percentage of particulates that the mask is stopping. Again, these studies that Niosh has been doing on masks go back some 50 years or so. I guess we can just take Dukes word for it even though they have no  authorization to certify safety masks and have been doing studies for six months.

Wearing a cloth mask mostly is to prevent your breathe from traveling directly towards other people and not for protection for yourself. An N95 offers 95% protection from airborne particles for a certain amount of exposure. It's been rated by NIOSH for ppl

What happens with fleece, bandanas and neck gaiters?

You have no idea what percentage airborne particles are being prevented from reaching your intake, Slacker. Their preventiveness isn't rated for safety standards and thus unproven as each face covering would vary and if there is no rating from Niosh then it has no certification as a safety mask from OSHA.

“We tried to be as careful with our language as possible in interviews,” says Warren S. Warren, a Duke chemist and coauthor of the study. While he says their observations suggest some thin gaiters might be problematic, “the press coverage has careened out of control” for a study testing a measuring technique and that looked at just one mask of each type.

https://www.sciencenews.org/article/coronavirus-covid19-neck-gaiters-mas...

It's definitely not a comprehensive study, but I'm pretty sure that if I'm wearing a cotton/poly mask, if everyone else is wearing something, and we're not in each-others faces, it's a hell if a lot better than nothing.

Nice work there ,Mike E.

You said it yourself, Brian k. Those studies are not certified in any way by OSHA guidelines and have no authority to claim those masks protect you against any virus because they would immediately get torn apart by NIOSH and OSHA.

IMO, I wouldn't put so much emphasis on that 24ft transmission. I don't if that's study or if tht happened but either way it would be. Very rare occurrence. Remember that medical doctors are not experts on safety or ventilation and in reality don't know anything more about safety than anyone else who doesn't work on in those fields for living. Don't live in fear andd listen to those who work in associated fields.

about masks?

wrong thread buddy

Spout elsewhere.  Your Agenda is?

If neither of us wear pants and one of us goes pee on accident, at least some of the pee will probably get on both of us.

If one of us wears pants and for some reason a little pee squirts out, the pee will likely not get on the other person as much, or at all.

Now if we both wear pants...

BK brought up the subject, lltd. If you paid any attention then you'd have seen that. Go whine to him if you have a problem, jerk off.

btw, I don't have a leader and I don't need one to live. Go freak out in you living room for the rest of your life about Covid if you want. I don't really care.

Who's freaking about COVID? I'm more worried about Bss pissing on me.

Are you promoting QAnon theories, Timpane? is Bernie dead to you now?

A little science...

Interview with acclaimed aerosol scientist, Professor Kimberly Prather, PhD, Distinguished Chair in Atmospheric Chemistry at UC San Diego. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PU8Hf_5-oLc&t=147s

UCSD Research: Masks help stop spread of aerosol particles https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jTFVpFF3dYU

With the recent studies showing that less technical masks can prevent or highly reduce spread of Corona virus-aerosols, just wear a mask. The efficacy may be lower than the masks you're talking about, Mr. Timpane, but if we are all wearing them we're going to stop the spread of the virus and be able to reopen the economy and possibly schools. It's science.

Just a reminder that America will be a stronger more compassionate nation under uncle joe and mamala.  Both battle tested true warriors.

And yes Nancy; Bernie is dead to Timpane. I can pull up the screenshot if he back peddles.

JR, do you have a screenshot of the post saying that he never supported Bernie? That was the best.

The CDC has some expertise in disease control. It's even in their name. If they say most masks work, I'll take their advice over the OSHA 30 trainer at your local union hall.
