Forums:

They stab it with their steely knives,
But they just can't kill the beast

what a horrible song

that hotel  should sue them

"It is known for its long guitar outro featuring Don Felder and Joe Walsh, and complex lyrics sung by Don Henley."

lol

Here is the culprit in Todos Santos in Baja California Sur:

 Hotel California_0.JPG

We were partying with some locals at a bonfire one evening and they were very proud of the "fact" that the hotel was the inspiration for the song, and made a point of it by blasting the song really loud (both in English and Spanish).

When's check out time at that place

(((complex lyrics)))

Coulda been the warm smell of "colitas," rising up through the air?

Hoover beat me to it....

Complex lyrics??????

Can you hang around the pool snorting coke with 15 year old girls?

All i know is the Mr Margarita dude in Todos Santos makes a great margarita..  Ole !

"The term "colitas" in the first stanza ("warm smell of colitas, rising up through the air") has been interpreted as a sexual slang or a reference to marijuana. "Colitas" means "little tails" in Spanish; in Mexican slang it refers to buds of the cannabis (marijuana) plant."

I can air guitar the HC solo note for note while making facial contortions and adjusting/maintaining my power stance in time and pocket and as warranted... Holding Dab pose.

God I hate the eagles

Eagles possibly get the owners to quit selling T-shirts and desist on the name capitalizing and the Hotel might be able to keep the name. Hotel had that name in 1950s.

Loopholes and simple cease and desist. Then again I have only have a modicum of civil law court room experiences.

Trying to trademark that name is most silly on the owner's part.

I thought this was about the bad sports team

Two eagles circling my house the other day.

They seemed quite mellow.

I hate this song.  A few years back my guitar teacher used as an example of a song which uses a harmonic minor.

>>They seemed quite mellow.

that's what they want you to think....while they're checking out their next possible meallaugh
