((((Zone))))

I had requested a more detailed campground map from the Bethel office, thinking it would be fun to add a camp address text layer to it  -- pasting their reply below as it offers helpful info for all....

No worries, you can add the extra guests and vehicle at any time; or when you check into the campground!

We do not have a detailed map of individual sites at this time. However, to see the general location you will be in, please refer to this map: Available Sites | Bethel Woods Center for the Arts - Bethel, NY.

Since the weekend of your stay is completely sold out, we will be assigning sites in the general area (for instance you are in the M zone) of your site. If you are traveling with other people who are camping but not in the same reservation, we recommend checking into the campground at the same time so you can be placed next to one another!
Please note, all sites are subject to change at any time.

There is no address guests can ship personal items to at this time. However, we appreciate this suggestion as it help us improve our venue as we continue to enhance guest experience!

Julie McCoy makes everything right

For anyone hoping to attend this run, know that passes have been popping up on Cash or Trade app almost daily over the past 2 weeks.

If you're a Gold-level CoT subscriber and set up alerts, you'll receive a text or email 10 minutes prior to the passes being visible on the public site.

#shrug

sooo. toying with this idea, flying from lyon to Dublin to Newark.arriving late thursday night ,staying at a hotel near Liberty international Newark airport, I'll be lookin for a ride up to the shoes..on Friday anybody passin through Jersey?

yay!!!  thanks for your email, was busy today w/ a job interview, will respond later.
I arrive to Bethel on the 29th or 30th, but flying in to a different airport.

you might find this site helpful, though, as it combines different transportation modes.
there's no cost to use the site for research: https://www.rome2rio.com/

attending  Billy shows with family - including my daughter who will be 8.5 mos pregnant

would LOVE an ECZJ gathering another time - as my Karma remains in need of repair from the Forrest Hills P&F show.

I was the shy guy at the bar watching posts from the Zone in Forrest Hills

yay ^^^!

well any ECZJ gathering will probably look like pre and  post-show hangouts and hopefully with at least a drum or guitar if anyone is awake and game!
maybe they'll allow campfires

your daughter is welcome to use my hammock if I can figure out a good hanging situation.

tommy, thought it wasn't possible with your december trip

there's a reasonable chance i'll still be in dirty jerz and could designate drive you

lol nod

watching is so much easier, and occasionally way more fun (;

Jill I'm a bit of a warlock...we'll see And that would be awesome! Was so close to pull the trigger I'll keep you posted

just a bit?

"just a bit?,"  yes, mom told me to keep dat chit underground.

Ps  I'll go if merriweather goes

it's her high season of work, alas

still..................

Maybe we can get Goose to play.. they're from Norwalk...

are they?

Might have a project 17miles away,   Trying to schedule it right around the shows so I can hit it.   Fingers crossed!!!

Ruh row...Screenshot_20260602_213613_Expedia_0.jpg

So as I was saying...

^^^^ Yay!  J'aime bien tes vols, mais sera plus facile voyager directement au camping, non? Vous arriveriez avant le coucher du soleil. Beth et moi serons deja la.
A Lyft would cost ~ $250, eek!   Renting a car on Turo.com or Kayak would cost around the same price for your dates.
Hampton Inn in Newark? Eek.

Llollo, best I can do! Have a 17 hr Travel day and think an airport hotel in Jersey will be very much appreciated before A weekend of BMFS..AT WOODSTOCK

Heard Billy wants to play Cumberland Bues for Jerrs Bday

I'm in - just gotta find me some tickets.

Think I have a pair of Friday's.. extra could probably trade one for a sat and you take the other One

ZANG  heads up

I may be bowing out so will possibly have a couple 2 day passes

Thanks fellas.

Just looking for two Saturday tickets. Should have clarified.

Tommy - I'm not sure folks are trading Friday for Sat but I haven't done any research.

Fish I might be interested if you got decent seats as they might be cheaper than the HUB.   I think it's $175 or so for lawn.   Bummed you are not going.

I will except Cumberland Blues or all of live dead or just Billy playing Billy.

ZANG  heads up

cashortrade will mosdef have tix closer to shows

Thanks.   I'm pretty impatient about these things but that's good insight.  Let's see how long I can wait  :)

Also any insight to seats to avoid would be good.  I'm assuming I want seats with summer storms etc.   More willing to splurge as I get older and see fewer shows.

I'm going to have at least one 2 day pass available for sale, possibly 2. If anyone here is looking still

^^^^^ awwwww bummer news!

Interesting music news I noticed today:  The Garcia Project will play August 1 at Bearsville Theater nearby!  I
asked them to start after Billy ends, LOL.

Fish - still intrigued.   Let me know if you want to coord offzone.   I'm about to pull the trigger on another pair but will wait a few days if you think you might have two.

Ok I'll sort out whether anyone in my crew is going to hit these shows and let you know if I have one of 2. I'm def dropping out.

Awe fishcane,  yoùll be missed, ohh and I m bringing no tarrif Champagne

Bummer, fish

Have we ever met in 3d?

(Thinking not)

llo, methinks you need a fresh thread, girlfriend!

lol

WOODSTOCKMFSTRINGS

Getting close I for one can't wait

I was miracled 2 tickets for the sold out Aug 1st show!!!!!    See you Freaks there!!!

^^^ Way to manifest!

On July 30th, I'm flying into White Plains, arriving late morning.... my travel partner, Beth, doesn't arrive until 4PM, same airport.

If there are any Zoners close by who might want to meet up during that window, let me know. My other idea is to go pick up the camper van we rented ... near Greenwich, then pick her up at the airport.

Is anyone traveling in from Maine or Pennsylvania?

Just learned that Russian River brewery (Pliny the Elder + Younger fame) sells in those states, but not NY, boo.

^^ you can get into PA coming from White plains/CT on I84 West bound - you can slip into PA @ the NY/NJ/PA border and then highly scenic route ( Rt 6 /The Hawks Nest Lookout ) up to Bethel and peacefully avoid the clusterfuck that is Rt 17 into Bethel.

^^^^^ thanks, that's a great tip, didn't even consider that routing. will compare to the Russian River retail spots too.

weird, the edit link is not displaying -- was going to add: if someone brings 2 heady toppers, will trade ya!

Now I'm getting Gateway timeouts!
Unfortunately, the PA sidetrip will likely not be realistic as Beth arrives at 4PM and we need to set up camp almost 100 miles north from the only PA retailer that sells cans/bottles --  Tony's Place in Ivyland, PA. Anyone know Tony, LOL?

LLOLLO, the edit link is no longer there because it's not working. Sorry.

Did you'll just hear that Fenway banter and take me out to the ballpark? Yeah it's 420 here..am..amen

Thanks for the update Judit -- good luck with the troubleshooting.

The Rock and Roll Playhouse: Jerry Garcia Birthday Bash

http://www.bethelwoodscenter.org/programs/kids/family-concert-series

Probably too early for me but might be fun and I wouldn't be surprised if Billy showed up.

Any thoughts on parking.  I didn't by a pass or anything and coming in Saturday.   Never been.   Does it get backed up - need to aim for a specific lot?    I need your opinions :)

Parking is FREE...you can try and roll in on 17 but they will shunt you to whichever lot they want. The walk isnt too bad and, again,  parking is FREE

Awesome.  Thanks Mike.

Messenger_creation_1E06357C-7E13-4905-ACBB-FD5F2832999E_0.pngReady  get set go

Billystock, yassssss

Funny story,  I just ordered 250 stickers should be delivered to my hotel at Newark.

!!!!!
That will be fun.

they have announced all sorts of music, activities, and fun shit to do all weekend...

Did the campground or venue send an email?
I got nothin.

Please post a link if you've got one, thanks!

Event Details

'"If this is any indication of what Old Crow Medicine Show still has in store so many recordings in its career, we should count ourselves lucky.” – NPR Music

Old Crow Medicine Show got their start busking on street corners in 1998, from New York state and up through Canada, winning audiences along the way with their boundless energy and spirit. They eventually found themselves in Boone, North Carolina, where they caught the attention of folk icon Doc Watson while playing in front of a pharmacy. He invited the band to play at his festival, MerleFest, and the rest is history. It’s been over twenty years since these humble beginnings. The band has gone on to receive the honor of being inducted as members of the Grand Ole Opry and have won two Grammy Awards: “Best Folk Album” for Remedy (2014) and “Best Long Form Music Video” for Big Easy Express (2013). Additionally, their classic single, “Wagon Wheel,” received the RIAA’s Double-Platinum certification in 2019 for selling over 2,000,000 copies, while the band’s debut album O.C.M.S. has been certified Gold (500,000 copies). The band’s latest Grammy-nominated album, Jubilee (Aug 2023) released via ATO Records.

If anybody goes to Bethel and sees this guy, please give him a BIG hug. He's Nick Ercoline. He and his wife Bobbi, just two of the sweetest people you'll ever meet, were the couple on the front of the Woodstock album and they came out to southern Utah to speak at a celebration of Woodstock for the Bicknell (pop. 200) International Film Festival. He and Bobbi were traveling ambassadors for the History Assoc at Bethel.

Sadly, Bobbi passed from cancer a couple of years ago, Such a sweet woman.

Good timing for your trips Llollo and Tommy.  A little rain is better than the wildfire smoke engulfing Oregon and Southern France.  Best wishes to you and all attending Zoners for a fun-filled weekend with some great music!

booooo

Some nearby towns are predicting as much as 10" and flash flooding leading up to this event.   Even if it's dry for the two days, I would imagine the ground is going to be pretty wet.

Need to order Ll bean duck boots

Beaverkill River was at 18000 cfs yesterday. It was 200 a few days ago

Set your Google Maps Nav to:

The Pavilion Camping Entrance is located on W. Shore Road. (GPS: 1 N. Service Rd, Bethel, NY)

The Historic Camping Entrance is located on the corner of Best Road and W. Shore Road. (GPS: 100 Best Road, Bethel, NY)

Includes 1 mimosa / bloody.
Advance tickets can be purchased here: https://www.bethelwoodscenter.org/events/detail/billy-strings

THANKS LLOLLO TOM JUST CONTACTES ME THE UNIVERSE IS AWESOME Frisbee golf yes brunch  yes.perfect weekend over the pond

Everyone please check your travel route plans and adjust if necessary, there has been some localized but catastrophic flooding in several areas around the venue, and greater Catskill area.. with a bit more rain coming. I think rains have been minimal at the venue so should be ok once on site but be prepared to adjust arrival plans

^^^^^^^^The storms the last few weeks and today have been unbelievable, Rain, Hail, winds, tornado's and just really weird hard hitting storms,We have been hit pretty hard since 4th of July. Bethel is north west of me and they've been also hit hard weather wise. Be safe HAVE FUN, and I hope to see some of you freaks on Saturday!!!!!,   there is a big storm possibly on Sunday... Prepare Kids... Nobody gets left for Dead.... LOL

IMG_3432.jpeg

I suspect Billy will have some fitting version of a water song, Charlie Patton's High Water? Doc's Deep River Blues? Didn't It Rain by Jake Blount? Stanley Brothers The Story of the Flood. When The Levee Breaks - Memphis Minnie, A Flood on Our Hands by Joe Ely, Five Feet High and Rising by Johnny Cash. So many others. Sure hope y'all get lucky and dodge the drops.

MAKE MEMORIES, new friends and take photos!

Billy admires Tony Rice.  Tony's song "Galveston Flood" would be a great addition to his repertoire:

Really glad you'll be making it Tommy !!!

Safe Travels and Cheers

<3

At ATL airport waiting for flight north -- talked my way into Delta Club as my red-eye left PDX over 30 minutes late, which caused me to miss my connection, which for some reason left 10 minutes earlier than the scheduled time, WTF?

Will arrive to campground before sunset.
Forecast continues to look dry for Friday and Saturday -- thank you Jerry!

Looks like I'll have one 2 day lawn pass if anyone still needs one

[email protected]

> take photos!

^ This. And post them too.

Have fun freaks.

Freak fair dress rehearsal

This thread is a wonderful reminder of the meet-up threads in the past when Phil was touring. East coast, west coast, the magic and anticipation of a Zonerr meet up is fun to watch! Party on, Garth!

Have big fun, friends.

Reporting in from the campground!

Not surprisingly the campground grass fields are wet from today's rain.

Important notes:
1) The approach from north to Best road, which is the route we took to skip the amphi and go directly to the campground, will be closed tomorrow.

2)When you pull up to the campground entrance, you'll have to get out of your car for a body wand search and a vehicle search 9f coolers / fridge primarily.  They willl be overwhelmed with all the people trying to get in at 2, so I expect the search step to go pretty quickly... After that, you stop at a booth, give your name and get wristbands. Anther that ... you give your camp address to the next guy in yellow vest, who will direct you to your camp area.

3) We rented a 21ft Winnebago Solis poptop van.. NO AWD .... it's cool, but it gave us stress when we were directed to pull in to a campsite in the M6 zone.  As soon as I turned off the gravel road, I hit a wet grassy rut and could not back out of it or go forward.

They had to bring a tractor front loader to tow us back onto the road... and the sun was setting, making it difficult to see.  They asked us to try again up-slope, and we didn't succeed, backed out, and then found someone with more authority and asked them to find us a better spot. We are still in M6, very close to the road.  While there are many campers here already, tomorrow's camp set-up should be interesting.  Weather forecast is for 82 and dry tomorrow, but not sure if that's fast enough to help those without AWD vehicles.

We just watched 3 cars roll in to the field without issue, so maybe it has to do with the weight of our van?

There was a gorgeous sunset, and tomorrow morning there will be a sound bath, yoga and brunch. There's a shuttle bus to the show.

Bring a headlamp, extra tarps and mud shoes... and an AWD.

Also bring all your desired food, drink and ice... while there is a little campground store, it won't be easy to run back and forth to the the closest town.

So happy to be here and looking forward to running into Zoners.

Here's a Google map pin to our exact location:

https://maps.app.goo.gl/JVBnPRHRF5BvF1tu8?g_st=ic

Glad you made it!  Sounds like quite the experience already and can't wait to hear all about it (especially getting stuck driving the RV). Have fun, stay safe, and post pictures.

Taking Water seems a likely opener

Wish I was going tonight but I'll see you freaks tomorrow

Showed up early to try to unload ticket. It's already a zoo for the vendor lot but staff is here moving people in so that's a good sign

FYI the bethel museum is not doing a Hatch print for this show

Sold my remaining ticket in the vendor lot so I'm out of here... enjoy the weekend everyone!

Yay waking up to sunshine

missed the 7:30am sound bath but it'll happen tomorrow and the following day

i am endevoring to push my group to get the fuck up - i have been up since 630, did a bunch of shit ( literally helped a neighbor move furniture between 7-830, THEN i walked the dog ) and am now FREAKING FUCKING READY TO ROLL and they just aint so, i'll spin another fatty, have another coffee and just chill 'cause i aint letting them bum me out -

Llollo, it sounds pretty awesome! Is the camping scene similar to OCF? Are the campground hosts putting on the brunch or is that the zoner contingent? Either way, what a great adventure you're having! Enjoy the shoe!

Welcome to  Beautiful Hudson Valley!!!!!   Enjoy this Awesome Weather!!!   See ya Tomorrow....

Bethel 2.jpg

Bethel 2_0.jpg

We've been.noticing the clothespin fad here.

I'll go ahead and predict Summertime for tonight. A nod to Janis' set at Woodstock, and they already know how to play it :) Have fun, freaky goats

Last night, I was at the back of the reserved seats near the center.  I thought the sound was great!

The wave of applause at the end of Warsgasm was like the response to a great China Cat --> Rider.

In line by merch

gates in 1 min!

Billy could do a "I'm not touching you, GD teat" Mama Tried also, as it was also performed at Woodstock by the usual suspects we Love. Shady Grove would be my INTY call for a Jerry nod. Or he could just play Thunder for a Hunter adjacent to Jerry tune that I also love very much

I'm thinking Deal

Not a bad call, C-R. I love Billys slightly differenty version of Deal heart

Billy and Royal have been dropping significant Woodstock Easter eggs today so Who Knows maybe they'll do Can't Explain and a load of Jimi :D

Arabia for Jerry Day!

Ken, that is great !  He did Arabia at last Halloween show in Balti....blew my mind  !  It was a 25 song set list. We already have our tics for this Halloween ;)

22 minute Arabia to close set one, Rosa Lee McFall opening set two

Teasefest in the jams tonight, hearing some nuggets

Fun sure is Fun! great seeing some of you Llollo missed you and Marc my phone us sim card wasn't working well Fafa is an awesome guy picked me up at Newark just dropped me off at JFK.shared his glamping tent the admi'nshould let him back on

I feel like there were more teases and fakeouts than noted on this list but it was hard to keep track of the ones I caught let alone list them all. Definitely "Use Me" and "Purple Haze" others kind of subjective to the ears listening for them. Last night's show is getting a relisten as soon as Andy posts up the soundboard to nugs. Set list and notes below written by Killy Nichellin. All props and credit go to him.

Notes

Today is Jerry Garcia's birthday (he would be 84 today) and marks the first day of the "Days Between," a symbolic time encompassing the cycle of life beginning on August 1st for jerry's birthday and ending on August 9th with the anniversary of his death. Let us all remember that life is fleeting, and to make the most of our time with each other

Arabia, a rarely covered song in general written by Jerry Garcia and David Grisman feels like a beatuful way to honor jerry's birthday. The song is long and cyclical with what feel like endings and beginnings folded into its center, a theme that resonates for days between.

At the beginning of set 2 (while burning what looks like Palo Santo wood) billy tells a story about exploring the bethel grounds where woodstock took place and trying to feel the spirit of its history

Tonight’s show did not just honor one of the world’s most legendary guitarists but two. Billy made sure to give Jimi Hendrix considerable nods with a long Who Knows jam in Doin’ Things Right and another Izabella jam in Turmoil, along with a high energy segue into Love or Confusion out of his tune Hollow Heart.

Let It Rock (Jerry Garcia) walk off tunes

Not my list, gently borrowed *Set list and footnotes thanks and credit go to Killy Nichellin

Second verse same as the first

oops

I had a wonderful first visit to Woodstock.  The weather turned out beautiful the camping was fine, showers and bathrooms in our camping lot were clean.  The Love bus and the Peace bus were fun transportation to shakedown, museum and campgrounds. Those were the best jammy and great sounding Billy shows I've seen.
Here are some of the souvenirs from the weekend...

It's been quite the week.  Started off by climbing Huntington's Ravine with my boys and my herniated disc fully cooperated.   Rolled over to Portland for a Lobster Roll and back to Burlington to drop boys off.   Drove the torrential downpour to get near Bethel and then had great weather.  Hit a few waterfalls and client visit and was all set for last night.  I really loved the venue.   It's not the nicest or coolest I've ever been too but it's well done and the vibe was super chill.  Not sure where the NYers were but that's the most chill Billy show I've been at.  Maybe people we're a little worn out from the night before.

I found the show a bit over the map with new songs and old ragers but I had a fantastic time.   Arabia was stellar.  Will need to verify that 22 minutes but It was just what I was looking for.   And Rosa hit the mark too.  There was anticipation for more nods but it was plenty from my angle.

Easy getting out last night as I boogie straight to the car during the fire works and made the 40 min drive back to the airbnb.  Possibly saw a bear run across the road - def not a deer.   Drove up to syracuse this morning and now on my way to Seattle via ATL for a project interview.

It's nice when everything just falls in place, even for a few days.

Heads up, Andy uploaded the sb from last night's show to nugs, look under the "listen now" tab

Arabia update: Andy's track uploaded to nugs is 23:26

Vote for Fafa back on board!!

I'm not on nugs but if anyone has the lossless sbd from 8/1 I would really appreciate listening to that one again.  I brought a bunch of cds, bottle of Ricard, Heady Topper, a smorgasbord of flower and beer from favorite local brewery Three Heads to share with Zoners at BMFS but only ran into one Zoner lol.

This isn't a board, but it sounds sweet, and there's FLACs to download:

Thanks Jill.   Back to work Monday has been no fun.   I'm ready to win the lottery.

It makes me sigh a heavy sigh when Zoners attend the same event but can't seem to communicate directly to stage a meetup and share time / food / drink together. Let's strive for better next time, as you all know the time spent together will be more fun than whatever you were doing at your camp!

I had a great weekend with Beth in tow and glad to hear the dates are already booked for next year.  We made some cool new friends around our camp.

The high humidity did make us lazy, tho!  We are spoiled on the west coast when it comes to high heat days -- humidity usually isn't oppressive like on east coast.
We spent our final night at Beth's cousin's house in Ossining -- my upstairs room didn't have AC, and the low temps were over 70 at night -- then an amazingly fierce rainstorm happened at 3AM.  Loved it!

Nice to say hi on night 1, Tommy and FaFa.

LLOLLO, an old friend used to refer to these sorts of things as THC: Typical Hippie Clusterfucks.

^ Hippies, GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER...

Mike, LOL, no doubt.... and that's also part of the fun.
Opportunities to hang out like that don't happen as often anymore, that's why I'm speaking up about it for next time.

I'm for bringing FaFa back, always a gentle and kind man, luv his family also.

Have stayed in touch with a few and love meeting up at shows and when others are in town.

Fafa is the best of the good ones. Sixer also but i don't think he wants to come back. Fafa i'm pretty sure does.

Foghorn, I agree....he is so busy going to see a lot of live music, as he should. Actually we are hosting him here in Jersey for WSP next week as we live close....I am sober and will drive them ( 5 guests ) to and fro safely ,. He even offered to cook and grill some steaks.....yumm !  Bob and I enjoy his company.

Now with Phish just announced at Boardwalk hall in Oct, I am certain they will all be back.

Designated drivers are wonderful. Good to see everyone here still kickin.

OK so, i am guilty of going dark once on site @ Bethel and it was inadvertent. I have never Zoned from my phone and dont have the Google on my phone so i had no access to my password or info ( the email that my account is associated with does not exist anymore ) NOR was i aware that i had a distinct Rainbow canopy tent that i could have guided people towards until i took it out and set it up !.

Now, we got there later on Friday than i had wanted but in the end it was fortuitous as the ground was dried, we got to an AMAZING spot at the back of camping with no one behind us and our friends who were delayed due to a funeral we able to roll up and camp right next to us on Sat morning!

Norm, one of the campground supervisors changed the trajectory of our weekend with one simple question : " what can we do to make this experience better right now ? " when we had pulled up on our SECOND lap around the campus which included a State Police escort back to the campgrounds., wife almost in tears and stress levels HIGH...

Then Billy MF Strings - what a weekend of music and fun, we had exceptional seats thanks to my daughter and future Son in Law and were blown away - the only drag of the whole weekend was the cattle call lines to get in and back on the bus.....

Mike and Tommy...   All good!  Glad you had good experiences as I did too. My comments were more about setting our sights on next year.

Beth and I are wondering if glamping zone might cost less than renting the camper van... Tommy can you offer a review of your glamping experience?  Was it a tent or cabin?

First of all I had no idea that Tom aka Fafa was set up with Glamping. My first time doing that I guess he happened on the two day pass on Cash or Trade a few days before the shows from some Cali peeps that couldn't make it normally priced at.800 bucks  down to 500  .a great deal  the pros far outweigh the cons. Literally 5 minutes walk to the backdoor, in and out privileges, free museum entry. Golf cart rides pretty much when and where you want.then the tent with two twins, sheets , blankets and comfy pillows night table, circus lights, electric power stations for phone charging and such.Bed was great a lil small if we were to share lol but yeah coming from France  no need to bring a bunch of stuff. The fire pits were nice too after the show.puff puff pass pass ! All in all experience was awesome thanks Fafa!

Thanks for the info, sounds cushy.

I assume the glamping are the cabin looking things.   That acces looked worth the price of admission if you truly could go in and out with no line.

Apologies too, got there later than hoped Saturday, hit a quick shakedown run through and then the museum (meh) and the line was already backed up past the street so hopped in by the merch table where there was a gap.

Would have loved to see everyone but will head back if he plays again.  Felt like old times and couldn't have been happier.

Thanks Zang, yes, the cabins were one of the glamping options.

Agree about the access benefit, there's value in the time saved.
