Emerson, Lake & Palmer is doing a 50th anniversary tour with Palmer playing drum live to previously unseen footage of Keith Emerson and Greg Lake. I can't fathom people spending actual ticket money for this.
Ha! I was a big ELP/Yes fan in middle & high school. I always credited them to being a gateway to GD music because I learned to listen to longer pieces of music through them. But a hard pass on this performance.
I also was a huge fan in the '70s, but their music didn't age as well for me as other bands of the time I liked.
But even if I was still a huge fan I wouldn't see this, even if it was free.
I did spend money on a somewhat similar type deal quite a few years ago, when most or all of Elvis Presley's Las Vegas band played live along with videos of Elvis singing. I figured it was a chance to see James Burton, Jerry Scheff and Ron Tutt play live and it wasn't too expensive, but it also wasn't that great a show.
I guess I just like my concerts to have living people playing in the same room that I'm in at the time.
I was also a huge ELP fan in high school and I, too, find their music hasn't aged as well as other band's ,music. myself very lucky to have seen the Works tour at Madison Square Garden with the full orchestra. I sat very close to the mixing board which was amazing to see in action. Every instrument had it's own channel and there were 4 operators mixing the sound with multiple boards that took up a full lower level section of the Garden. The sound was unbelievable from where I was sitting.
Immediately after the MSG shows, ELP had to declare bankruptcy and finish the tour as their regular 3 piece. A few late starts and paying a bunch of union orchestra musicians overtime drained every dollar that they had in 2 weeks. It was certainly a time of excess.

I caught the slimmed-down version a few months after the MSG show.

I sure did, and I crushed it too, but what's more fascinating is how that image has burned its way so deep into your noggin. And morphed into lingerie too. That's some deep shit, dude.
(Please note, I didn't say "your brain" because no evidence exists for such a thing. Not around these parts, at least.)
Give it up, do-llittle. Your quest is akin to banging your head against a wall. It only hurts until you stop.
Let me guess. You googled "nasty comebacks" and went with the first hit.
So do you fantasize about men in lingerie with cum splattered on their backs a lot? If it's impeding your ability to live a full life, you might want to look into getting some help for that.
I saw him a few years ago when he did a benefit art show and performance with his band for a local foundation. The art show was nice and it was cool to meet him but the show itself was meh

What, no love for Emerson, Lake, and Powell? Saw them in a half- full Kaiser Aud. It was kinda sad.
Well, at least I got to see a Carl Palmer drum solo when I saw Asia at the Warfield.
