Those best of BP are good recordings, and his catalog runs deep. I love the horns, the groove, the drumming, all of it. Check out "expensive shit" album. His song and story about the police sifting through his feces to find a joint he swallowed is nuts. The man lived a crazy life and produced some great music. I like to put him on when I go for long drives. it puts me in a trance. You cant mention Fela without giving a nod to the drummer Tony Allen. As a drummer, I can say he is one of my top 10 favs. Plus he arranged most of Fela's stuff. Big fan of both. darn it, now I gotta listen to some...

Tony Allen is an absolutely insane drummer. I didn't realize how involved he was in composing Fela's music. Very cool.
