I fed my Venus Fly Traps food for the first time yesterday! Seymour, the "Carolina Red" trap, got a mosquito, while Audrey, a tall "Pinnacle" variety, got a fly! Audrey has much bigger mouths to feed, and was well prepared to down a fly. (Seymour may take a little longer, short little thing that he is)
While my wishes were for them to be more independent, it can take traps a while to adjust to their new surroundings. So i've been honing my animal tracking and ninja reflexes towards advanced bugnapping, with pretty damn good results for an old fatman...
Here's Seymour and his skeeter;
And Audrey with his fly
